O ensino de matriz energética na educação CTS : um estudo com práticas na formação de licenciandos da área de Ciências Naturais
Get PDFTese (doutorado)—Universidade de Brasília, Faculdade de Educação, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação, 2017.A relevância social do conhecimento, embora tão proclamada em pesquisas sobre ensino de matriz energética, parece não estar bem resolvida em termos de comprometer-se com uma (re)construção de concepções críticas de inter-relações Ciência-Tecnologia-Sociedade (CTS), mediante desvelamento de questões mais amplas da realidade, no contexto do atual modelo de produção e consumo. Diante dessa problemática, este estudo comporta encaminhamentos, tanto teóricos quanto práticos, que contribuem, em grande medida, para superação de lacunas no ensino de matriz energética na formação inicial de professores da área de Ciências Naturais. Deveras, questiona-se nesta investigação como se estabelece na organização do trabalho pedagógico de licenciandos da área de Ciências Naturais a (re)construção de concepções críticas de inter-relações CTS na temática matriz energética, durante um processo formativo com práticas no Programa Institucional de Bolsa de Iniciação à Docência (Pibid). A perspectiva crítica de educação CTS encontra-se firmada, principalmente, em aportes freirianos e no Pensamento Latino-americano em Ciência-Tecnologia-Sociedade (PLACTS), frente a uma responsabilidade maior de refletir sobre novos modelos de ciência, de tecnologia e de sociedade, quer sejam mais democráticos e comprometidos socioambientalmente. Toda fase empírica foi concebida, na condição de uma pesquisa participante, de caráter emancipatório, em encontros formativos realizados com 16 licenciandos da área de Ciências Naturais, bolsistas de um Subprojeto de Química do Pibid, em uma instituição da Rede Federal de Educação Profissional e Tecnológica no Sudoeste Goiano. A geração dos dados consistiu da aplicação de questionário; filmagens de discussões em grupo e de debate; produção de textos; além do uso de registros em memória de campo. Com base nas análises, centradas na interpretação qualitativa, constatou-se que a (re)construção de concepções críticas de inter-relações CTS na temática matriz energética não é um processo nada apaziguado, especialmente, em razão de seu desencadeamento vincular-se intimamente à interlocução com a realidade e problematização de discursos míticos da superioridade do modelo de decisões tecnocráticas; da perspectiva salvacionista/redentora atribuída à ciência e tecnologia; do determinismo tecnológico; e do crescimento econômico ilimitado. Entretanto, emergiram dois encaminhamentos fundantes para inicializar ativação de um processo de (re)construção de concepções críticas de inter-relações CTS, com licenciandos da área de Ciências Naturais, a saber: (a) desvelamento da cultura consumista como causa por trás de problemas que permeiam diferentes matrizes de energia; e (b) contestações a modelos de ciência, de tecnologia e (ou) de sociedade que priorizam o crescimento econômico. Nessa direção, depreende-se, neste estudo, que a (re)construção de concepções críticas de inter-relações CTS se concretizaram, mormente por parte de sujeitos que realmente se dispuseram a refutar propostas tecnocráticas condicionadas, prioritariamente, ao crescimento econômico. Destarte, reiteram-se potencialidades de práticas, dialógicas e participativas, no ensino de matriz energética, em uma perspectiva crítica de educação CTS, sobretudo em defesa da democratização de processos decisórios, como subsídio para desencadear compromisso social dos licenciandos, com um engajamento político horizontal de resistência às imposições tecnocráticas em prol de novas agendas públicas para o setor de energia, opostas ao atual modelo de crescimento e com potenciais repercussões no campo das relações de poder.The social relevance of the knowledge although so acclaimed in researchs about the energy matrix teaching, seems not to be well received in terms of compromise itself with a (re)construction of critical conceptions about Science-Technology-Society (STS) interrelations, through unveiling of broader issues of the reality, in the context of the production and consumption's current model. Faced with this problem, this study contains both theoretical and practical informations, that contribute largely for the gaps overcoming on the energy matrix teaching in the teacher's initial formation of the Natural Sciences area. Indeed, it's questioned in this investigation how to establish in the organization of the pedagogical work of undergraduate students teaching from Natural Sciences area the (re)construction of critical conceptions about STS interrelations in the thematic energy matrix during an affirmative process with practices on the Programa Institucional de Bolsa de Iniciação à Docência (Pibid). The critical perspective of STS education is signed, mainly, into Freirean contributions and in the Pensamento Latino-americano em Ciência-Tecnologia-Sociedade (PLACTS), facing a major responsibility on reflecting about new science, technology and society models, whether they are more democratics and committed in a socioenvironment way. The whole empirical phase was conceived, in the condition of participant research of emancipatory character from formative meetings on performed with 16 undergraduate students teaching from the area of Natural Sciences scholarship holders of a Subproject of Chemistry from Pibid, in an institution of the Federal Network of Professional and Technological Education in the Southwestern Goiás state. The generation of the data was consisted of the application of questionnaires; filming of group discussion and of debate; texts output; beyond the use of field memory registers. Based on the analyzes, centered on the qualitative interpretation was verified that the (re)construction of critical conceptions about STS interrelations in the thematic energy matrix is an unappeased process, especially, in reason of its triggering intimately gets attached to the interlocution with the reality and problematization of mythical speeches of the superiority of the model of technocratic decisions; of the salvationist/redemptorist perspective assigned to the science and technology; of the technological necessitarianism; and of the unlimited economic growth. However, emerged two base routings for initialize activation of a process of (re)construction of critical conceptions about STS, with undergraduate students teaching from the area of Natural Sciences, namely: (a) unveiling of consumer culture as the cause behind problems that permeate different energy matrices; and (b) contestations to models of science, of technology and (or) of society that prioritize the economic growth. In this direction, one can deduce, from this study on, that the (re)construction of critical conceptions about STS are materialized, mostly by blokes who really arranged themselves to refute technocratic proposals conditioned, primarily, to the economic growth. Therefore it is reiterated potentialities of practices, dialogics and participatories, in the teaching of energetic matrix, in a critical perspective of STS education, withal in defense of the democratization of decision-making processes, as a subsidy to trigger social commitment of the undergraduate students teaching with an horizontal political engagement of resistance to technocratic impositions in favor of new public agendas for the energy sector, opposite to the current growth's model and with potential repercussions and the field of power relations.Faculdade de Educação (FE)Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educaçã
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
