Green coffee contains a large quantity and variety of polyphenols and fiavonoids. The composition of the polyphenols in coffee, due to the formation of compounds generated by Maillard reaction, which can have anti-inflammatory potential. Inflammatory skin illnesses are the most well-known issue in dermatology. This type of illness has been known one of the biggest illness in Malaysia for the past few years. Thus, in this study shows the reliable on Green Coffee Bean oils extracted using Soxhlet extraction to be applied in commercial soap for the anti-inflammatory effect. A simple method for the determination of chlorogenic acids content in green coffee bean was reported. The method was based on the use of UV/Vis absorption. It is relevant that the quantification of and chlorogenic acids was performed without their preliminary chemical separation despite their spectral overlap in the range 200-400 nm. Themolar extinction coefficients chlorogenic acid in ethanol solution was calculated by using the chemical standards; the estimated values were £(272nm) = 12159 ± 97M-1 cm-1 for chlorogenic acids molecules. The anti-inflammatory effects extracts of GCB applied in soap was investigated in animal models and using a DPPH radical scavenging test. In the formalin test the extracts reduced licking activity

This study shows the effect of clay apply on the thermal and impact strength properties of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). For this purpose, clay reinforced with HOPE composites that being prepared through a melt mixing by using a compounder system. HOPE then undergo Izod Impact strength test in temperature range of 25"C. The result showed that the accumulated clay particles that arise in addition of clay caused the decreased in impact strength. To study the melting point and crystallization behaviour of clay reinforced with HDPE, DSC were conducted on the samples at the temperature of 50°C to 180 °C and at the rate of l 0°C/min. The result showed that the more the clay added to HDPE, the higher the melting point of the mixture. The crystallization behaviour of HDPE affected with addition of Sayong clay in which make the composite easily become crystal form even at high temperature

Kuantan is the capital state of Pahang. Being the one of the most prominent cities of the east coast peninsular, it host many beaches that lay before the world’s important water namely the South China Sea. Due to its strategic geographical location, the Kuantan coastlines are also renowned spots for tourism and fishing activities. However, their popularity consequentially leads to many irresponsible acts of littering and dumping of waste by humans at the beach. Besides that, the immense collection of marine debris along the coastline is influenced by several factors such as the dumping of disposal items by humans to the river and estuarine, insufficient space for landfill and other marine litters from fishing activities such as fishing nets, lines and rods. According to Al-Jazeera News dated January 26, 2019, Malaysia is home for booming illegal plastic processing industry. It is said that developed countries such as the UK and New Zealand exported their plastic wastes to the country for recycling purpose. It is also revealed that not all the plastics imported are recyclable. This has drawn the ministry to call a permanent ban on plastic wastes import and conduct a series of raiding operations to these unlicensed plastic waste recycles factories to reduce environmental harm due to the rapid development of landfill areas. Another article by Science Magazine in 2015 stated that Malaysia was placed eighth worst country worldwide for plastic waste. The study reported that Malaysia produces approximately one million tonnes of improperly disposed plastic waste in 2010. Some of the wastes are leached and discharged to the ocean, killing marine animals and accumulated to form an “island” of garbage. In response to this critical issue, IIUM collaborating with Institute of Oceanography and Maritime Studies (INOCEM) are proud to provide a platform for the residents to contribute to the environment by participating in a marine debris monitoring program at Cherok Paloh Beach, Kuantan. As residents of premier Islamic research university, we acknowledge the importance of protecting and keeping our environment clean especially when the campus is situated just 30 minutes away from the coastal areas. This serves as a good initiative to raise awareness among the residents in a sense of promoting environmentally concerned society through interactive environmental community service activity

The determination of the minimum level of dowry issued by Majlis Fatwa should contain elements of benefit for both the husband and the wife. The determination of the level of dowry is considered with various aspects such as customs and maslahat for the people in the State of Selangor. This study aims to find out the provisions of the minimum level of dowry in Islamic law, the legal basis of Majlis Fatwa State of Selangor in determining the minimum level of dowry of RM 300 and the relevance of Majlis Fatwa State of Selangor in determining the minimum level of dowry of RM 300 to the community. This research is field research located in Selangor. The data sources used by the author are primary data sources, namely data obtained directly from interviews and secondary data sources obtained from various documents related to this research. The results showed that the provision of the minimum level of dowry in Islamic law is not specifically determined about the level of dowry for marriage. Islam only orders to lighten the dowry and facilitate marriage. The legal basis of Majlis Fatwa State of Selangor in determining the minimum level of dowry of RM 300, based on the hadith from Aisha, from the Prophet SAW, who said: (The women whose blessings are great are the women who facilitate the financing of their marriages). This hadith is seen as still not fulfilling the main purpose and objective for the people living today, because the people of the State of Selangor still feel the burden of financing marriage. This also protects the right of dowry so that the determination of the dowry rate does not apply arbitrarily and complicate marriage. The relevance of Majlis Fatwa State of Selangor in determining the minimum level of dowry of RM 300 to the community is still not appropriate, because what is set only the minimum limit. Majlis Fatwa should also determine the maximum level which will be good between the man and the woman

Marine debris is becoming one of the major problems for the communities residing along coastal and marine environment, affecting the beaches aesthetic value and economic. Marine debris can be found in most beaches not restricted to Malaysia, but other international coastal areas. This research is conducted 1) to determine major types and possible source of marine debris, 2) to study the relationship of seasonal pattern to debris density within Pahang coastline and 3) to study the debris density changes between northern and southern of Pahang beaches. The study was conducted on 2 selected beaches located both of northern and southern of Pahang. NOAA marine debris monitoring protocol which is the standing-stock method used to collect relevant data. Beach profiling using Total Station Theodolite was conducted to monitor the beach profile and relationship with debris concentration. Data collected were then subjected to statistical analysis using one-way ANOVA focusing on spatial differences where two groups were determined based on their location within northern and southern Pahang coastline. Debris density recorded on monthly basis for over a period of 10 months with seasonal variation separated into Northeast (Oct-Mar) and Southwest Monsoon (May-Sept). Results within 8 months monitoring revealed a decreased in trendline of debris concentration due to seasonal change (monsoon). Findings further reveal an increment in trendline between different beaches where sites closer to the river, Cherok Paloh beach (0.269 ± 0.18) and Air Leleh (0.300 ± 0.18) beach have higher debris concentration than Gebeng beach (0.035 ± 0.02) and Batu Hitam beach (0.07 ± 0.018). Plastic is the most abundance debris observed and recorded in all monitoring sites throughout the sampling campaigns. In conclusion, results show significant relationship between debris concentration with seasonal pattern and spatial difference. Several trends identified such as accumulating rate along the shoreline decreased during Southwest Monsoon and concentration is higher in heavily developed areas
