No full textEducation has undergone significant changes in the way teaching and learning processes are approached. A recent example of innovation in this field can be found in the study by Picazo & Touzard (2023), focused on the use of podcasts to improve listening skills in students at the "Centro Tecnológico Naval". Their research, to improve listening skills in students at the "Centro Tecnológico Naval", highlights the growing importance of information and communication technologies in education.
In an educational environment characterized by its constant evolution, the acquisition of English language skills and listening comprehension skills, known as "listening", have acquired a central role that requires the application of state-of-the-art pedagogical approaches. The current dynamics of the educational environment face the challenge of adapting to the changing needs of learners, while responding to the growing demands of an increasingly globalized world.
The proposed research focuses on exploring music as a highly effective pedagogical resource to address the difficulties intrinsic to English language teaching and learning. Beyond being a mere vehicle for communication, English has established itself as an essential skill for participation in contemporary global society. Music, thanks to its universality and its ability to establish emotional connections with people, presents itself as a powerful pedagogical tool to enhance English language acquisition.
The general purpose of this research is to analyze the influence of music, from an intercultural perspective, on the development of listening skills in the context of English language teaching and learning among tenth grade students of the Institución Educativa Departamental General Santander. The use of music as a pedagogical tool in the process of foreign language acquisition and in the promotion of intercultural values represents a field of study with significant potential to enhance the quality of education, preparing students to function in an increasingly globalized and diversified world (Chugcho, et al, 2023).
This research is organized into several thematic chapters. First, Chapter 1, entitled "Statement of the Problem," addresses the identified problem as a whole. Chapter 2, entitled "Research References," presents the key concepts and reviews previous research related to the use of music in language teaching and the promotion of intercultural values.
Chapter 3, "Research Methodology," provides a detailed description of the methodological approach, the method employed, the techniques used, and the research procedures. Chapter 4, "Systematization and Analysis of Results," presents the practical phases of the research and details the results obtained.
Finally, Chapter 5, "Final Reflections," summarizes the work carried out, presents the conclusions drawn from the research and offers pertinent recommendations. La investigación propuesta se centra en explorar la música como recurso pedagógico altamente eficaz para abordar las dificultades intrínsecas a la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de la lengua inglesa. Más allá de ser un mero vehículo de comunicación, el inglés se ha consolidado como una destreza esencial para la participación en la sociedad global contemporánea. La música, gracias a su universalidad y a su capacidad para establecer conexiones emocionales con las personas, se presenta como una poderosa herramienta pedagógica para mejorar la adquisición de la lengua inglesa.
El propósito general de esta investigación radica en analizar la influencia de la música, desde una perspectiva intercultural, en el desarrollo de la competencia auditiva, conocida como "listening," en el contexto de la enseñanza y aprendizaje del idioma inglés entre estudiantes de décimo grado de la Institución Educativa Departamental General Santander. La utilización de la música como herramienta pedagógica en el proceso de adquisición de lenguas extranjeras y en la promoción de valores interculturales representa un campo de estudio con un potencial significativo para potenciar la calidad de la educación, preparando a los estudiantes para desenvolverse en un mundo cada vez más globalizado y diversificado (Chugcho, et al, 2023).
Esta investigación se organiza en diversos capítulos temáticos. En primer lugar, el Capítulo 1, titulado "Planteamiento del Problema," se aborda la problemática identificada en su conjunto. El Capítulo 2, denominado "Referentes de Investigación," presenta los conceptos clave y revisa investigaciones previas relacionadas con la utilización de la música en la enseñanza de idiomas y la promoción de valores interculturales.
El Capítulo 3, "Metodología de la Investigación," ofrece una descripción pormenorizada del enfoque metodológico, el método empleado, las técnicas utilizadas y los procedimientos de investigación. El Capítulo 4, "Sistematización y Análisis de Resultados," presenta las fases prácticas de la investigación y detalla los resultados obtenidos.
Finalmente, en el Capítulo 5, "Reflexiones Finales," se lleva a cabo una síntesis del trabajo realizado, se presentan las conclusiones extraídas de la investigación y se ofrecen recomendaciones pertinentes. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
