Contextual Aspects of Style and Translation: With Particular Reference to English-Arabic Translation
No full textSome activities are easier to practice than to talk about, translation is one of them. This is simply because translation as a practice existed long before translation as a theoretical discipline. Most translators with no doubt wish to see their role in such a positive way: “opening a window” for TT readers, in order to illuminate for them an unfamiliar culture. In today’s translation circles, the translations accepted by mainstream translation norms more often than not share such features as fluency, smoothness and transparency. The target text is free of the slightest trace of translation and reads as if it had been written by the original author in the target language. The differences, including the strangeness, and otherness, are replaced by something familiar to the target reader. This paper, is basically devoted to shedding light on the impact of Abu Deeb’s style, in translating Orientalism, and how Abu Deeb’s style effect his translation

Fakultas Hukum Universitas Brawijaya Email: [email protected]  ABSTRAK Consent Decree adalah perjanjian yang disetujui para pihak (dalam penegakan hukum persaingan usaha adalah penegak hukum dengan terduga pelanggar) yang berisikan kesepakatan dari terduga untuk menghentikan dugaan pelanggarannya dan didalamnya terdapat campur tangan hakim sebagai perintah dari pengadilan, metode ini merupakan penyelesaian perkara di Amerika yang dilakukan diluar persidangan. Metode ini digunakan oleh Federal Trade Commission (FTC) dan Departement of Justice (DOJ) dalam penyelesaian perkara persaingan usaha. Metode consent decree dapat memberikan efisensi dalam hal SDM dan biaya serta dapat mempercepat penanganan kasus persaingan usaha. Penggunaan consent decree di Amerika telah menjadi suatu alat penegakan hukum persaingan usaha yang sangat penting. KPPU memiliki kendala-kendala yang membuat penegakan hukum persaingan usaha tidak maksimal. KPPU dapat menggunakan metode consent decree sebagai solusi dari permasalahan yang dihadapi. Saat ini KPPU memiliki metode menyerupai consent decree yang bernama Perubahan Perilaku yang diatur dalam Peraturan Komisi Nomor 1 Tahun 2019, namun dasar penggunaan metode tersebut masih belum diatur dalam undang-undang. Perubahan Perilaku yang saat ini diatur dalam Perakom Nomor 1 Tahun 2019 memiliki perbedaan-perbedaan dengan consent decree. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dalam skripsi ini penulis mengkaji mengenai urgensi pengaturan consent decree di Indonesia kemudian membandingakan pengaturan dan analisis perbedaan antara consent decree dengan perubahan perilaku. Kata Kunci: Consent Decree, KPPU, Perubahan Perilaku  ABSTRACT Consent Decree is an agreement that is approved by the parties and in which there is a judge\u27s interference as an order from the court, this method is a settlement of cases in America carried out outside the trial. This method is used by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) in resolving business competition cases. The consent decree method can provide efficiency in terms of human resources and costs and can speed up the handling of cases of business competition. The use of consent decree in America has become a very important business competition law enforcement tool. The Business Competition Supervisory Commission as a business competition law enforcement agency has obstacles that make law enforcement of business competition not optimal. KPPU can use the consent decree method as a solution to the problems faced. At present KPPU has a consent decree-like method called Behavior Change. Behavior changes currently regulated in Perkom Number 1 of 2019 have differences with consent decree. Based on this matter, in this thesis the author examines what constitutes the urgency of the adoption of consent decree in Indonesia and then comparisons and consent decree analysis with behavioral changes.   Keywords: Consent Decree, KPPU, Behavior Chang

A new approach to the dynamic security assessment of power systems including relay performance
No full textIn this thesis, security assessment of a power system under large disturbances has been studied. A protective system (relays) has been included in the power system model and a new measure that quantitatively describes the dynamic reponse of the system together with a procedure to identify the set of vulnerable relays have been presented. Next, the algorithm for fast approximation of the system response under large disturbances has been proposed. The impact of the presence of the fast and slow dynamics has been addressed from a computational point of view. Small industry is an effort carried out by the community that is classified into small industries and home industries by providing business capital assistance and counseling in improving the effort carried out by the Industry and Trade Office of the City of Pekanbaru, as a result of not yet maximizing Coaching related to Training, Counseling, Internships held, and Lack of knowledge of assisting personnel to small industries to small industry players, In connection with that according to Article 3 Letter F is contained in point 1 namely the Industrial Development and Development Section. which according to Article 27 the Industrial Development and Development Section is obliged as is mandated by article 2 letter g, namely Guidance on Industrial Associations / Regional Industrial Councils. For this reason, the author only focuses on Guiding in Small Industries in the City of Pekanbaru. NONLOCAL FILTRATION EQUATIONS AND FRACTIONAL CURVATURE FLOWS
No full textIn this thesis, we record the joint work done by the author and Pak Tung Ho concerning the fractional Nirenberg problem with a symmetric assumption, which is addressed through fractional curvature flows on the Riemannian sphere Sn. Furthermore, we present the author’s work on nonlocal filtration equations related to the Heisenberg group Hn. The classical Nirenberg’s problem is to find a conformal metric of an n-dimensional Riemannian manifold such that its scalar curvature is a given function f. A geometric flow has been introduced to study Nirenberg’s problem by Struwe for n = 2 and has been generalized to n ≥ 3 by Chen and Xu on the sphere Sn. Using the scalar curvature flow, Leung and Zhou proved an existence result for prescribing scalar curvature when the given function f possesses certain reflection or rotation symmetry on the Riemannian sphere Sn in their paper. This led naturally to the study of the prescribing fractional order curvature problem with the same symmetric hypothesis on Sn, which has been proved by the author and Pak Tung Ho. Motivated by the extensive investigations of nonlocal filtration equations, utilizing the integral operators instead of the Laplacian operator on the Euclidean space Rn, we work on the same type of equations on the Heisenberg group Hn. We established the existence, uniqueness and large-time behavior of the corresponding solutions. Furthermore, an interesting result stated that a uniform Hölder regularity, as the function value tends to zero, holds for the porous medium type of equations, which can also be adapted to obtain uniform Hölder regularity on Rn
The Influence of Organizational Innovation towards Internal Service Quality in MBKS
No full textAbstractInternal service quality and organizational innovation are really important in satisfying the internal and external customers’ expectation and needs. Organizational innovation is actually one of the significant factors that can affect the internal service quality of the organization. This paper describes the development of Innovative Internal Service Quality (IISQ) Model in measuring the influence of organizational innovation (based on its three main determinants) towards internal service quality (reliability, responsiveness, tangibles, assurance and empathy) in MBKS while gender acts as the moderating factor. The paper examines three main determinants of organizational innovation (innovation leadership, managerial levers and business processes) which can affect the internal service quality of an organization as well as describes how those three determinants affect the internal service quality. It will help to provide future researchers with literature in studying the influence of organizational innovation towards internal service quality. This paper can contribute in developing an improved model for organizational innovation and internal service quality
