No full textWydział TeologiiIstnienie etyki niezależnej od Objawienia stanowi jeden z głównych problemów współczesnej debaty moralnej. Jacques Maritain, pomimo czynnego wkładu w uchwalenie Deklaracji Praw Człowieka, negował istnienie takiej etyki. Jego zdaniem, filozofia moralna musi być uzależniona od pewnych prawd, które czerpie bezpośrednio z teologii, będąc w ten sposób podporządkowaną teologii moralnej. W swej argumentacji opierał się on na założeniu, iż nie istnieje stan czystej natury, a wiedza praktyczna musi odnosić się do sytuacji egzystencjalnej człowieka. Jego przyjaciel, Etienne Gilson również odrzucał takową ideę. Gilson zaakceptował spostrzeżenia Maritaina i również negował próbę budowania etyki bez uwzględnienia celu ponadnaturalnego, jak i faktu skażenia natury grzechem pierworodnym. Ralph McInerny, bazując na swej interpretacji teorii prawa naturalnego Tomasza z Akwinu, wychodzi z interesująca teorią etyki niezależnej od teologii moralnej. McInerny swą teorię opiera na przekonaniu, że tak jak rozum może poznać podstawowe zasady w porządku teoretycznym, tak jest on w stanie uchwycić takowe zasady w porządku praktycznym. Propozycja McInernego jest mocną obroną teorii prawa naturalnego, która szuka niezmiennych, etycznych zasad w złożonym moralnie postmodernistycznym świecie. Przedkładana praca jest próbą odniesienia się do powyższego sporu, uwzględniającą wyniki współczesnych badań.One of the most discussed problems in contemporary discourse on morality is whether ethics can exist independently of Revelation. Despite the fact that Jacques Maritian actively participated in the promulgation of Declaration of Human Rights, he was of the view that it is not possible. Moral philosophy must be dependent on certain truths emanating from Revelation and in this way it is subject to moral theology. His belief was based on the conviction that pure nature does not exist and that the practical knowledge must make reference to the existential state of man. His friend, Etienne Gilson, shared his views. He accepted Maritain’s critical remarks and denied any attempt to formulate ethics without reference to supernatural end and original sin. On the contrary, Ralph McInerny, based on his interpretation of Aquinas’ natural law theory, acknowledged the existence of ethics independent of moral theology. McInerny explained that as natural reason can find basic principles in theoretical order, it can also find them in practical order. This idea offers a strong defense of natural law theory that try to find immutable, ethical principles in a morally complex world. My dissertation is an attempt to critically study and analyze this debate in the light of contemporary research on this subject
