Cheri is the author of the book Qu(e)erying Evangelism: Growing a Community from the Outside In (Pilgrim Press, 2005) and, most recently, her memoir The Queer Evangelist: A Socialist Clergy's Radically Honest Tale (Wilfrid Laurier University Press, 2021). As a minister, activist, and former MPP, Cheri has advocated extensively for LGBTQ2+ rights and dedicated much of her life to creating radically welcoming spiritual communities. No full textThrough a comparative reading exercise, and following an inductive method, this article identifies different ways of representing or imagining the body in a corpus of works by the Panamanian author Cheri Lewis G., observing the possible relationships, tensions or contradictions between this same type of fictional representation in the narra-tive works of other contemporary Central American authors. In the fictional worlds of the selection, on the one hand, the fragmented, animalized or hybridized body proposes ways to contradict, think, resistor criticize certain oppressive standards towards women; on the other, he makes metaphorical elaborations on human affective relationships with other forms of life, as well as allegories of the fragmented nation.Por medio de un ejercicio de lectura comparada, y siguiendo un método inductivo, el presente artículo identifica distintas formas de figurar o imaginar el cuerpo en un corpus de obras de la autora panameña Cheri Lewis G., observando las posibles relaciones, tensiones o contradicciones con este mismo tipo de representación ficcional en las obras narrativas de otras autoras centroamericanas contemporáneas. No full textThis book is in a series with another book I have found by the same author and publisher: "Timeless Tales: Fables." I include it too in the collection because of its last two stories. "The Tar Baby" (40) and "Stone Soup" (45). At least in this version, the tar baby story is occasioned by Brer Rabbit's refusal to help on digging the well and his subsequent exclusion from using it. I would have thought that the briar patch is part of the solution Brer Rabbit uses to get himself unstuck from the tar baby, but that factor is not mentioned here. "Stone Soup" is identified as from France, Sweden and other places. The stone soupmaker is identified as a hobo. After enjoying the meal and spending the night -- that is what he had asked for originally -- the hobo goes on his way the next day. Designing effective paraprofessional training for new and existing paraprofessionals
No full textThe research question addressed in this project was, what are the key components of a paraprofessional training program that includes an evaluation process? The author includes research for educating paraprofessionals, including French and Blacher, and two paraprofessional curricula, including Doyle and Twachtman-Cullen. After an attempt to develop a paraprofessional training program on her own, the author laid out a plan to implement a research-based program that included administrative supervision and communication from the paraprofessionals to guide the training program. The capstone concludes with the articulated plan for the following year
