No full textThe ability of each substation to withstand lightning and overvoltage affects the power distribution of the power system. In order to make the best operation of the substations, it is necessary to install Arresters which are used to protect the transformers in each substation from overvoltage caused by lightning surges. In this study, the effect of capacity on the placement distance of the arrester is discussed with 30 MVA and 60 MVA transformers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the power transformer capacity of the four substations on the value of the arrester spark voltage and to obtain the optimal arrester installation technique at each substation using the Lagrange optimization method. Lagrange optimization method is used to determine the optimal distance between the arrester and the power transformer. The calculation results show that in a transformer with a capacity of 60 MVA, the Arrester spark voltage occurs at t = 20 microseconds with a voltage drop of 390.49 kV. Meanwhile, in a transformer with a capacity of 30 MVA, the Arrester spark time is at t = 13.9 microseconds with a voltage drop of 266.3 kV. This shows the capacity of the transformer that affects the magnitude of the Arrester's spark voltage and the spark time. No full textVarious methods of translation support a writer in mastering the structure, form, and meaning that exist in variety works both in printed (text) and electronic (online). In translating a sentence, a writer can use several methods. The use of a method can affect the meaning of the source language. Through translation, the readers in general can distinguish texts between the original and translated texts, understand the origin of the works in the source language, for example, the work of Indonesian language which translated from English, or vice versa. The existing translation methods are divided into seven categories namely, borrowing, calque; literal; transposition / shifted; modulation; equivalent; and adaptation. The result of this research shows that there are three methods which used by the author in translating the novel written by Ernest Hemingway entitled The Old Man and the Sea which is transtlated into Lelaki Tua dan Laut. In the process of creating a work, an author is inseparable from his involvement with other texts which have existed before that surround them. It shows the influence of other texts that included into the result of literary text. Thus, there is no original text belongstoanauthor.Themethodusedinthisstudyisdescriptivequalitative.Thedata were analyzed by reading and identifying which determined through the relationship between the structures and the social problems of the story. The result indicates that intertextuality is established through the social conflict relationship. The stories give a portrait on how social situation and discrimination cultural conditions become a reflection of society in the era of globalization and information.

No full textPuisi pada saat ini mengalami perkembangan begitu pesatnya. Itu semua dikarenakan puisi menjadi media penyampai ide atau pemikiran yang sastrawan sering gunakan. Selain lebih praktis dalam menentukan waktu menciptakannya, puisi juga menjadi media yang paling menarik bagi sastrawan baik sebagai penulis atau penyair begitupun pembaca dan penikmat sastra. Penulis memilih antologi 135 puisi romantis ini dengan memilih beberapa sampel puisi yang berkaitan dengan ekologi (lingkungan) dan perempuan di dalamnya atau biasa dikenal dengan ekofeminisme. Ekofeminisme sendiri dibagi ke dalam beberapa jenis salahsatunya kritik sastra marxis, feminis ideologis, kritik sastra ginokritik, dan masih terdapat beberapa lagi. Dalam hal ini, penulis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan ekofeminisme ginokritik yang didalamnya mengkaji karya sastra yang dihasilkan oleh penulis perempuan. Kata Kunci: perempuan, puisi, ekofeminisme Poetry is currently experiencing rapid development. This is all because poetry is a medium for conveying ideas or thoughts that writers often use. Apart from being practical in determining the time to create it, poetry is also the most attractive medium for people who are either writers or poets who are readers and connoisseurs of literature. The author chooses this anthology of 135 romantic poetry by selecting several samples of poetry related to ecology (environment) and the women in it or commonly known as ecofeminism. Ecofeminism itself is divided into several types, one of which is Marxist literary criticism, feminist ideology, gynocritical literary criticism, and there are several more. Women’s Life in Indonesian Contemporary Short Stories: A Study of Ecofeminism Transformative
No full textDifferent characteristics between men and women in solving problems in their life become the background of this study. Men are guided by logic in solving the problems. On the other hand, women are guided by feelings, rely on communication, or have a communicative attitude to get other people's responses and find solutions through actions that can decrease hurt feelings. The study aims are to investigate the lives of women from various cases such as discrimination, natural exploitation, and gender stereotypes.The objects of this study are Indonesian contemporary short stories published in Kompas from 2010 until 2015. The technique of collecting data through selective stages includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion or verification. Dealing with a large number of data sources, only the most adequate and relevant data are analyzed. The results of this study indicate that women in the stories not only tell about the role of women in general but also emphasizes morality. Women as the characters who are categorized as gentle, loving, and caring can be antagonistic figures caused by the treatment of others (men). Meanwhile, denial from women as a form of resistance to something that dangerous to express what has become the right.Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi bahwa perempuan memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda dengan laki-laki dalam menghadapi berbagai problematika kehidupan. Laki-laki dipandu oleh logika dalam memecahkan persoalan. Sementara itu, perempuan lebih dipandu oleh perasaan, mengandalkan komunikasi atau memiliki sikap komunikatif untuk memperoleh respons orang lain. Tujuan penelitian ialah mengungkap kehidupan perempuan-perempuan dari berbagai kasus seperti diskriminasi, eksploitasi alam, dan stereotip gender. Objek penelitian ialah cerpen-cerpen kontemporer Indonesia Kompas kurun waktu 2010-2015. Teknik pengumpulan data, meliputi: reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan atau verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perempuan dalam cerita tidak hanya menceritakan tentang peran perempuan pada umumnya, tetapi juga menekankan moralitas. Perempuan sebagai karakter yang dikategorikan lembut, penuh kasih, dan peduli bisa menjadi tokoh antagonis yang disebabkan oleh perlakuan orang lain (laki-laki). TOKOH-TOKOH PEREMPUAN PEDULI LINGKUNGAN DALAM NOVEL PARTIKEL KARYA DEE LESTARI: PENDEKATAN EKOFEMINISME
No full textKajian mengenai lingkungan alam (ekologi) dan peranan perempuan (feminisme) dinamakan ekofeminisme. Ekofeminisme merupakan salah satu aliran pemikiran dan gerakan feminisme yang berusaha untuk menunjukkan hubungan antara semua bentuk penindasan manusia, khususnya perempuan, dan alam. Objek dalam penelitian ini ialah novel Partikel karya Dewi Lestari. Ekofeminisme memandang bahwa perempuan secara kultural dikaitkan dengan alam. Oleh sebab itu, tokoh perempuan merupakan bagian dari sebuah cerita dalam karya sastra. Seperti halnya tokoh laki-laki, tokoh perempuan juga memiliki peranannya sesuai dengan jalan cerita yang telah ditetapkan oleh penulis. Peranan perempuan dalam karya sastra selalu menjadi hal yang menarik terutama jika tokoh tersebut memiliki karakter atau penokohan yang sangat unik seperti adanya perjuangan dalam menuntut pendidikan, pelestarian lingkungan serta memperjuangkan hak sebagai perempuan. Tokoh perempuan identik dengan kajian feminis atau kritik feminis. Dominasi laki-laki di dalam kehidupan juga terlukiskan pula di dalam karya sastra, bukan hal yang aneh bahwa dominasi patriarki seringkali menjadikan tokoh perempuan sebagai tokoh yang tertindas atau tokoh yang hanya akan didominasi oleh tokoh laki-laki.Kata kunci: perempuan, lingkungan, novel, ekofeminisme The study of the natural environment (ecology) and the role of women (feminism) is called ecofeminism. Ecofeminism is one of the schools of thought and feminist movement that seeks to show the relationship between all forms of human oppression, especially women, and nature. The object of this research is the novel Partikel by Dewi Lestari. Ecofeminism views women as culturally associated with nature. Therefore, female characters are part of a story in literary works. Like male characters, female characters also have a role in accordance with the storyline set by the author. The role of women in literary works is always interesting, especially if the character has a very unique character or character, such as the struggle to demand education, environmental preservation and fighting for women's rights. Female figures are synonymous with feminist studies or feminist criticism. The dominance of men in life is also depicted in literary works, it is not strange that patriarchal domination often makes female characters as oppressed figures or figures that will only be dominated by male characters.Keywords: women, environment, novels, ecofeminis
