During year 1980's, Tomography System was initiated to be used in industrial process for system monitoring. Data Acquisition System (DAS) is a core unit in Tomography System which required for obtaining accurate outputs possible in data sampling. However, there are very limited numbers of equipment in market which are able to perform data acquisition system unit for an Optical Tomography. This scenario makes DAS becomes expensive. The use of expensive DAS can be eliminated by replaced with a low cost embedded system design. This project develops a simple, cheap and portable data acquisition system for Optical Tomography System. The developed embedded system can be used to control the data acquisition of 128x64 pixels from Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) optical image sensor. The output pixels from the optical image sensor are sent and presented to Visual Basic Application display unit. The image from sensor was verified and categorized successfull

An Islamic endowment of property to be held in trust and used for religious or charitable purposes is known as a waqf. In Islamic finance, this is a well-known idea where the donor (waqif) dedicates the assets (mawquf) to a particular charitable purpose. The assets are overseen by a custodian (mutawalli), and they are dedicated to the designated purpose indefinitely. Although Muslim jurists disagree on who is legally entitled to the assets after the endowment is finished, the assets cannot be used for purposes other than those specified, or be sold to settle a debt. Throughout Islamic history, waqf has been crucial to the socioeconomic development of the region by facilitating public access to healthcare, education, and other public services. Generally speaking, the term waqf refers to something donated for charitable purposes or Islamic needs. Any property that, while retaining its physical resources, the waqif maintains the right to it through any transaction, inheritance, hibah, or will is considered waqf. The endowed property's benefit is intended for either specific or general welfare (as prescribed), with the intention of using the waqf in getting closer to Allah SWT

Indigofera leaf meal (ILM) as supplements to increase egg production and quality of Japanese quails

Quails egg is considered as a delicacy in many part of the world. Most consumer that concern about their health will take about 2-5 egg per day .The objective of this study was to determine the effect of supplementation of Indigofera leaf meal (ILM) on the production and quality of quail egg. One hundred and twelve ready to lay Cortunix japonica quails, 5 weeks of age, were used in this study. The birds were divided into four treatment groups with four replications with each replicate consisted of seven birds. There were four treatments, namely commercial diet supplemented with ILM at 0% (C0), 0.5 % (T1), 1.0 % (T2) and 1.5 % (T3), respectively. The experiment conducted at Ladang 2 and Nutrition laboratory, in department of Animal Science, University Putra Malaysia. The nutrients content of ILM were crude protein (28.98%), Ash 2.285%, crude fat 3.528%, and crude fibre 8.493%. The birds were allowed 2 week adjustment period followed by the dietary treatments for 4 weeks. Feed intake was determined on a weekly basis. Eggs were collected daily and were evaluated on weight, total production of egg, FCR, yolk index, thickness of shell, colour of yolk and Haugh Unit. Duration for the study is 6 weeks. The total egg production, the weight of the egg and feed conversion ratio were significantly different (p0.05), thickness of the shell is significantly different, and colour also significantly different p(<0.05). In can be concluded that supplemented with the Indigofera leaf meal increased egg production and improved quality in Japanase quail (Cortunix japonica)

Community Based Homestay Programme: A Personal Experience

    No full text
AbstractCommunity-based homestay had been discussed in various forums. Malaysian Government has been actively promoting the country for tourism and the homestay program was developed to help in the economy of the rural people. This paper looks at the homestay that may be successful. Two community-based homestay programmes were chosen, the homestay community of Kg. Laklok Machang and Kg. Suri, Tumpat, Kelantan. The research method was by observation, interviews and participation. The activities at both homestay were quite well organized. These include traditional games, cooking and performances. However, the facilities provided need improvement to meet the need of the visitors

Study on Longshore Sediment T ransport Variability for East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia

    Get PDF
The East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia is exposed to very harsh waves coming from the South China Sea which results in severe coastal erosion problems for this side of the beach. In the long run, the shoreline will move further onshore and pose a threat to nearby residential or commercial areas as well as destroy the habitat of marine flora and fauna. Gradient in Longshore Sediment Transport (LST) has been known to be one of the reasons that aggravate coastal erosion. For this research study, the author investigated the LST variability for the East Coast, highlighting on the Cendering Beach in Terengganu by analyzing the wave climate and utilizing empirical formulas which includes the widely used CERC(LSTR). The aim is to distinguish the pattern of LSTR at this area so that prediction of future occurrences can be done for preventive and mitigation measures in the future. From this research, the value of LSTR had been found to increase by 80% comparing between the year 1985 to the year 2000

Flood disaster indicator of water level monitoring system

The early warning systems for flood management have been developed rapidly with the growth of technologies. These system help to alert people early with the used of Short Message Service (SMS) via Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM). This paper presents a simple, portable and low cost of early warning system using Arduino board, which is used to control the whole system and GSM shields to send the data. System has been designed and implemented based on two components which is hardware and software. The model determines the water level using float switch sensors, then it analyzes the collected data and determine the type of danger present. The detected level is translated into an alert message and sent to the user. The GSM network is used to connect the overall system units via SMS

This paper presents the development of a portable, effective and economical Data Acquisition (DAQ) for optical tomography system. DAQ is a core unit that is essential for acquiring an accurate yield for data sampling in Tomography System. However, there are extremely limited quantities of equipment in market that can accurately implemented as DAQ for the optical tomography system. This project offers a microprocessor-based data acquisition system which able to demonstrate the output pixel of CMOS image sensor in GUI application. The project drives the control unit (LPC2103) to perform data sampling for CMOS image sensor and allocate 128x64 of data pixels into a visualized image inside the GUI application
