This research comes in the context of contributing to the dissemination and protection of the Islamic heritage , to join scientific research in the same field , and at the same time to protect it from neglect , damage, and loss. The importance of this investigation stems from the value of the book itself, and its author. The book is one of the important books in Islamic jurisprudence in general , and is considered in the jurisprudence of the Hanafi School in particular. The researcher relied on four copies , three of which are manuscripts, and the fourth is an unpublished publication, to control the text and determine its validity; by interviewing each other and comparing them to the differences in the text. One of the most important findings reached by the researcher is that the book " Fatah al – Qadeer " has never achieved a scientific investigation, although it is printed by virtue of the manuscript. And that the name of the correct book is " Fatah al – Qadeer ," as stated by al-Sharih in the introduction to the book , not "Sharh Fatah al-Qadeer" as stated in the title of one of the printed copies. The book has a cognitive integration that combines jurisprudence , Hadith and rulings. It includes the news , the effects, the movable and the reasonable , the explanation and the correction. The researcher recommended the establishment of a specialized and cooperative center with the universities of the homeland, the volunteers of the graduates , and the relevant institutions in order to achieve the manuscripts , study and maintenance; they are the memory of the nation and the fruit of the efforts of their scientists and their scientific and research creation

This thesis is a verification study from the beginning of Al-Eilaa (The oath not to have sexual relation with wife) section till the section of “Iddah” (The divorce prescribed period) from the book of Fathul Qadeer of the scholar Mohammad Bin Abdul Wahed Al Seewasi, whom is well known as Al-Kamal Ibn Al- Humaam, deceased in Eight hundred and sixty one “Hijri” after migration, and his book is one of the annotations to the book of Al-Hedaya for Sheikh Burhanuddin Ibn Abi Bakr Almerghinani deceased in three hundred and ninety after migration. The significance of this research is in the verification of one of the valuable books in Islamic jurisprudence in general, and particularly in the jurisprudence of the Hanafi route, which then made the book as an essential reference for the scholars of this route from beyond. And so; this study was a descriptive one, by a relying, in this study, on two copies of manuscripts beside a printed, not verified copy, and the methodology of the study was: Attributing of Quranic verses and Hadiths of the prophet, and the judgment on the various hadiths and statements from their different source as much as it could be through the statements of the scholars, and documenting the issues from the authentic books of jurisprudence and the commentary them, beside the declaring of the meanings of some strange words, and the definition of the terms of the jurisprudence and linguistic, and defining the information of individuals, places, books and sources. One of the most important findings in this study: that the book is important since the followers of Hanafi doctrine used to excerpt and cite from this book more, and that shown the remarkable status of the book, and acceptance by scholars, because of the son of the respected knowledge of Ibn Al-humaam, and the scientific confidence with a respect for the opinions of opposing juristic doctrines as he discussed issues of jurisprudence with their evidences leaving the intolerance for his doctrine apart. And one important finding by the researcher also, that the title of the book is Fathul Qadeer, not Explain the Fathul Qadeer as came in the printed copy and the health of the proportion of this book to his author. Accordingly, the researcher recommends that the students to complete the verification of this book, which is about to be completed, and then print and disseminate it; giving out a benefit to the students. At the end, the researcher recommends also everyone, particularly, students to pay more attention for other important manuscripts, so that; it could be given in new, higher beneficially form after treating them

Bounded model checking of multi-threaded c programs via lazy sequentialization

    No full text
Bounded model checking (BMC) has successfully been used for many practical program verification problems, but concurrency still poses a challenge. Here we describe a new approach to BMC of sequentially consistent C programs using POSIX threads. Our approach first translates a multi-threaded C program into a nondeterministic sequential C program that preserves reachability for all round-robin schedules with a given bound on the number of rounds. It then re-uses existing high-performance BMC tools as backends for the sequential verification problem. Our translation is carefully designed to introduce very small memory overheads and very few sources of nondeterminism, so that it produces tight SAT/SMT formulae, and is thus very effective in practice: our prototype won the concurrency category of SV-COMP14. It solved all verification tasks successfully and was 30x faster than the best tool with native concurrency handling.<br/

Urdu language is well-known for literary beauty and other linguistic as well as social factors. Over centuries Urdu/Hindi has gone through many cultural, political and linguistic changes. Urdu language has also changed in some ways of spoken and written forms. Despite the long history and literary power of Urdu, no Urdu author received a Nobel Prize in literature. Some data is presented about the trends in awarding Nobel Prize for literature. This article analyzes and highlights pathways for Urdu/Hindi literature at the world forum. The pathways emerging from connecting various fields and incorporating new linguistic frames can open innovative ways for Urdu/Hindi literature. The new trends of genres of literature are also briefly discussed in the context of Urdu/Hindi

Algorithmic techniques for predictive testing of concurrent programs and distributed systems

The rise of multicore hardware platforms has lead to a new era of computing. In order to take full advantage of the power of multicore processors, developers need to write concurrent code. Unfortunately, as a result of the non-determinism introduced by thread scheduling, multi-threaded programs can show different behaviors even for a single input. Errors in concurrent programs often occur under subtle interleaving patterns that the programmer had not foreseen. There are too many interleavings to explore, even on a fixed test input for a concurrent program, making concurrency testing a hard problem. Current testing technologies such as stress testing (running the program under test repeatedly with randomized sleep statements and by varying parameters on different platforms) have proved largely inadequate in exposing such subtle interleavings. Among the various techniques to test concurrent programs, the prediction-based technique is one of most valuable technology. Starting from one arbitrary concurrent execution of the program under testing, alternate interleavings that are likely to contain bugs are predicted. In our research, we explore prediction algorithms based on a combination of static analysis and logical constraint solving to efficiently and effectively test concurrent programs. The strength of our research lies in the fact that the techniques we propose are general enough to predict, with a high degree of accuracy of feasibility, various kinds of concurrent errors. We provide evidence that such an approach is promising in testing concurrent programs. In fact, we have implemented our techniques in a framework, Penelope. We evaluate it over benchmark programs and find scores of null-pointer dereferences, data-races, atomicity violations and deadlocks by using only a single test run as the prediction seed for each benchmark. We also take into account the challenge of bringing our experience in predictive testing of concurrent programs to the distributed systems environment. We use supervised machine learning to model the system behaviors in response to perturbations, based on recorded observations in a pseudo distributed (small-scale) setting. From the learned model, we predict the next system state given current states and applied perturbations. In a perturbation-based testing framework, accurate prediction helps to shorten the waiting time between the consecutive perturbations. Moreover, from the learned model, we reconstruct a possible sequence of perturbation from a given sequence of observed system states for diagnosis. We demonstrate the usefulness of our approach in a case study of a distributed system based on ZooKeeper and SolrCloud.Item withdrawn by Laura Spradlin ([email protected]) on 2014-04-25T13:33:30Z Item was in collections: University of Illinois Theses & Dissertations (ID: 1) No. of bitstreams: 1 Sorrentino_Francesco.pdf: 4116711 bytes, checksum: e2abefccbd9b13b261557d91a7145ee7 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2014-05-30T17:06:04Z (GMT). Exploring effectiveness and durability in regulatory shaming: a case study of New York City’s landlord watchlist

    No full text
Many public agencies are turning to regulatory shaming practices as a strategy for enforcing compliance and promoting deterrence. However, while regulatory shaming has long been in use, the contexts and characteristics of when regulatory shaming succeeds or fails have not been well explored. An aspect of regulatory shaming that remains understudied is the impact of time. Using a mixed methods exploratory approach this study conducts a case study investigation of New York City’s Landlord Watchlist from 2011-2018 to determine to what extent identification on the Landlord Watchlist produced durable improvements in building and housing code compliance. Quantitative analysis using regression discontinuity design and panel analysis shows little indication that there were significant improvements in compliance with building and housing codes at buildings identified on the LW. However, qualitative analysis from interviews and document reviews suggests that the Landlord Watchlist was successful in several important respects. Identification on the Landlord Watchlist prompted some owners to improve compliance with building and housing codes; mobilized tenants to file lawsuits, conduct protests, and organize into tenant associations; and was an effort to reform a culture of indifference around non-compliance among New York City building owners. This dissertation concludes with several extension that suggest how the administrators of the Landlord Watchlist might align it more closely with insights from responsive regulation.Ph.D.Includes bibliographical reference

Self-congruence facets and emotional brand attachment: The role of product involvement and product type

    Get PDF
Consumers have emotional bond with the brands that are closer to their self-concept. The product involvement is consumers' perception of relevance of a product with needs, goals and consumers' self-concept. Therefore, the study aims to reconsider the role of product involvement in the association of self-congruence facets and emotional brand attachment. Furthermore, the study investigates the association of self-congruence facets and emotional brand attachment depending upon product type. The study followed a mixed method research approach and involved a focus group study and a survey. Hypotheses testing (through AMOS and Process Macro) indicated that ideal self-congruence yielded substantial influence on product involvement and emotional brand attachment. Whereas, ideal self-congruence direct effect on emotional brand attachment turned out to be insignificant in presence of mediator. Furthermore, the effect of product involvement on emotional brand attachment significantly depends upon product type. The conditional indirect effect of self-congruence facets was stronger for hedonic brands as compared to utilitarian brands. The study contributes to marketing literature by discovering product involvement as processing mechanism between the debate of self-congruence facets and emotional brand attachment. The study is first in nature to investigate the moderating role of product type in the relationship and exploring conditional indirect on emotional brand attachment
