PREFERENCES AND BUYING BEHAVIOUR OF BEEF CONSUMERS IN TUSCANY
Tuscany, probably the most famous Italian region, is known because of many typical food specialities. One of them is the “fi orentina” - a thick, fi rst quality beef, called after the name of the city of Florence. However, recent trends in consumers’ behaviour and the BSE crisis have affected the attitude of consumers toward such products. In this study are presented the results of a mail survey about beef consumption and preferences that was conducted in Tuscany in May 2002. The survey showed that, despite recent food scares and new consumption behaviour, Tuscany consumers still like and prefer beef that has guarantees of quality. Therefore, there are good market opportunities for the Italian and foreign beef producers in Tuscany if they will provide consumers with not only good quality beef, but also more information about the meat
Joint of QFD & DEA & Supply Chain
SCM is both a theory and an applied style. That's an approach that reduces cost or saves money for increasing customer satisfaction. Nowadays, the progress of technologies is faster than in the past. So, it seems to be very necessary that the supply chain has to convert to a supply network. Therefore, the use of several techniques such as QFD&DEA can progressively control and evaluate a company to compete with other companies. Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is a powerful tool that translates the Voice of the Customer (VoC) into the Engineering Characteristics (ECs). Their important criterion is customer satisfaction. One part of QFD matrix that compares competitors, is called benchmarking. This part helps a company in decision making and choosing strategies. Also, to use of Data Envelopment Analyses (DEA) models (especially CCR), transshipment process etc. from identification of business process types, Inputs/Outputs, until identification of optimal transshipment and deployment plans of Supply Chain Network. This paper presents a suggestion of a systematic method accompanied by a short review of joint of techniques.Supply Chain, Supply Network, Benchmarking, QFD, DEA, Systematic Method

Bouwkunde reloaded - A new eco system
Reinterpreting the brief of the 2008 competition "Building for Bouwkunde" through the lens of Ecologic thinking, a new faculty of Architecture for the University of Technology in Delft is designed as an Eco-system: an open "field of intensities" in which the users can define their own spaces and the fullest range of activities can take place.Architecture thinkingDelft School of DesignArchitectur
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
