Instantaneous Kinematics and Singularities of Two Types of Under-Actuated Parallel Wrists
S-(nS)PU-SPU and S-(nS)PU-2SPU are two out of three types of under-actuated wrists that are generated from the “ordinary” wrists of type S-3SPU (fully-parallel wrists), by replacing a spherical pair (S) with a nonholonomic spherical pair (nS) according to the rules stated in [1]. Position analysis, controllability, and path planning of these two wrist types have been addressed and solved in two previous papers [2, 3] of this author. Their kinetostatics and singularity analysis have not been addressed, yet; and they are studied in this paper.

Co-authorship network dataset on psoriasis research papers from Medline database (1942-2013).
A ".xlsx" file which provides data used by Gregorio González-Alcaide & collaborators in the article “Evolution of cooperation patterns in psoriasis research: co-authorship network analysis of papers in Medline (1942-2013).” The worksheet “labels” describes every variable. The worksheet “dataset” presents the following data:
PMID: PubMed Identifier for indexed documents in Pubmed used for the study. PMIDs do not change over time or during processing and are never reused.
DP: Date that the article was published.
FAU: Author name for articles published. From 2002 forward, the full author name of authors is provided, if available.
FAU-Revised: Author name after cleansing process. A standardization process of the variations in signatures from single authors was carried out. The main discrepancies we found were caused by one or more first or last names being included, the authors’ first names being either spelled out or abbreviated to the initials, and typos

Kinetostatics of S-(nS)PU-SPU and S-(nS)PU-2SPU Nonholonomic Parallel Wrists
S-(nS)PU-SPU and S-(nS)PU-2SPU are two types of nonholonomic wrists that are generated from the “ordinary” wrists of type S-3SPU (fully parallel wrists (FPW)), by replacing a spherical pair (S) with a nonholonomic spherical pair (nS) according to the rules stated by Grosch et al. (2010, “Generation of Under-Actuated Manipulators With Nonholonomic Joints From Ordinary Manipulators,” ASME J. Mech. Rob., 2(1), p. 011005). Position analysis, controllability, and path planning of these two wrist types have been addressed and solved in two previous papers (Di Gregorio, R., 2012, “Type Synthesis of Underactuated Wrists Generated From Fully-Parallel Wrists,” ASME J. Mech. Des., 134(12), p. 124501 and Di Gregorio, R., 2012, “Position Analysis and Path Planning of the S-(nS)PU-SPU and S-(nS)PU-2SPU Underactuated Wrists,” ASME J. Mech. Rob., 4(2), p. 021006) of this author, which demonstrated that simple closed-form formulas are sufficient to control their configuration and to implement their path planning. Their kinetostatics and singularity analysis have not been addressed, yet; and they are studied in this paper. Here, the singularity analysis will reveal, for the first time, the existence of a somehow novel type of singularities, here named “jamming singularity,” that jams the platform motion in some directions and that is also present in all the parallel manipulators with SPU limbs (e.g., Gough-Stewart platforms) where it can be considered a particular type of “leg singularity.” Moreover, the static analysis will demonstrate that the reaction forces due to the static friction, in the nonholonomic constraint, can be controlled in the same way as the generalized forces exerted by the actuators, and that the possible slippage, in the same constraint, can be easily monitored and compensated
Roberto Gerhard’s Sound Compositions: A Historical-Philological Perspective. Archive, Process, Intent and reenactment
This research advances the current state of knowledge in the field of early tape music both empirically and methodologically. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact that the electronic medium exerted in the musical thinking of Roberto Gerhard, one of the most outspoken, prolific and influential composers in the Spanish diaspora whose musical legacy, for the most part unknown, is a major landmark in the early history of electroacoustic music. Gerhard’s personal tape collection, one of the largest historical archives of its kind reported in the literature, is exceptional for both its antiquity (50+-year-old tapes) and its abundance of production materials. Through the digitisation and analysis of the composer’s tape collection this research argues that the empirical study of audio documents sets out a basis for a broader understanding of textual processes. More specifically, the research demonstrates that the reconstruction of works based on magnetic tape sketches is a powerful method to advance the understanding of early tape music. This research also examines Gerhard’s sound compositions in relation to the post-war context in which they were composed. Finally, this research presents performance documentation that proposes an approach to the electroacoustic music repertoire in which creativity is not at odds with rigor and critical discernment demonstrating that archival study can be closely aligned to the concept of re-enactment
