Financial analysis of the company BMS - SAND s. r. o.

    No full text
The aim of this diploma thesis is to identify and analyse the financial situation of the selected company BMS SAND, s. r. o. through financial analysis and to propose measures for its future performance. The aim of the theoretical part is a description of problematic of a financial analysis and typologies of companies. The significant part of this thesis contains brief characteristics of the company BMS SAND, s. r. o. Subsequently, a horizontal analysis of assets and liabilities and profit and loss statement was applied. Then a vertical analysis of assets and liabilities has been done and an analysis of difference indicators, which includes the calculation of the net working capital. Financial analysis proceeds to the analysis of ratio indicators. There were also comprehensive evaluation indexes applied, using creditworthy and bankruptcy models. Based on the results of the financial analysis, it can be concluded that the enterprise BMS SAND, s. r. o. has not significant economic problems. A focus on the management of short-term debt in relation to the creditworthiness of customers, the optimal volume reduction of current assets, which are tied up, to make these resources gain greater benefits and a detailed analysis of the types of costs in order to determine their share creating sales opportunities and more effective management of these costs can be advised

Crystal structure and lattice dynamics of endotaxial FeSi2 nanowires

    No full text
The reduction of the dimensions of crystals to the nanometer length scale induces significant deviations in the phonon dispersions and phonon density of states (PDOS) of nanostructures compared to their bulk counterparts and novel vibrational phenomena emerge. I will present recent results of lattice dynamics study of alpha-phase FeSi2 endotaxial nanowires, epitaxially grown on Si(110), as a function of their size [1]. The experimentally obtained Fe-partial PDOS from nuclear inelastic scattering are comprehensively understood by the help of ab initio theory [2] [1] J. Kalt, M. Sternik, B. Krause, I. Sergueev, M. Exploiting PUF Variation to Detect Fault Injection Attacks

    No full text
The massive deployment of Internet of Things (IoT) devices makes them vulnerable against physical tampering attacks, such as fault injection. These kind of hardware attacks are very popular as they typically do not require complex equipment or high expertise. Hence, it is important that IoT devices are protected against them. In this work, we present a novel fault injection attack detector with high flexibility and low overhead. Our solution is based on the reuse of a security primitive used in many IoT devices, i.e., ring oscillator (RO) physically unclonable function (PUF). Our results show that we obtain a high detection effectiveness and no false alarms against most popular fault injection attacks based on voltage and clock manipulations.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository 'You share, we take care!' - Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Computer EngineeringQuantum & Computer Engineerin

Validity of a squash-specific fitness test

    No full text
Purpose: This study examined the validity of a squash-specific test designed to assess endurance capability and aerobic power. Methods: Eight squash players and eight runners performed, in a counterbalanced order, incremental treadmill (TT) and squash-specific (ST) tests to volitional exhaustion. Breath-by-breath oxygen uptake was determined by a portable analyzer and heart rate was assessed telemetrically. Time to exhaustion was recorded. Results: Independent tests revealed longer time to exhaustion for squash players on the ST than runners (775 +/- 103 vs. 607 +/- 81 s; P = .003) but no difference between squash players and runners in maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) or maximum heart rate (HRmax). Runners exercised longer on the TT (521 +/- 135 vs. 343 +/- 115 s; P = .01) and achieved higher VO2max than squash players (58.6 +/- 7.5 vs. 49.6 +/- 7.3 mL.kg(-1).min(-1); P = .03), with no group difference in HRmax Paired (tests showed squash players achieved higher VO2max on the ST than the TT (52.2 +/- 7.1 vs. 49.6 +/- 7.3 mL-kg(-1).min(-1); P = .02). The VO2max and HRmax of runners did not differ between tests, nor did the HRmax of squash players. ST and TT VO2max. correlated highly in squash players and runners (r = .94, P < .001; r = .88, P = .003). Conclusions: The ST discriminated endurance performance between squash players and runners and elicited higher VO2max in squash players than a nonspecific test. The results suggest that the ST is a valid assessment of VO2max and endurance capability in squash players

The selection of a suitable bank account for students in the Czech Republic

    No full text
The aim is to evaluate the possibility of having a bank account suitable for students in the Czech Republic using the multicriterial analysis and thus identify the most suitable bank account for students. In the theoretical part the author focuses on the development of the banking sector, current situation on the banking market, the general issues of the Czech banking sector, explanation of basic terms and states the students banking accounts and free of charge banking accounts. In the practical part the author focuses on the students banking accounts and free of charge banking accounts, summarizes the findings primarily from the websites of the banks. Based on the survey is created the representative student for the unification of the findings and the weights of the selected criteria according to which the banks are evaluated. The gathered information is then analysed using a multicriterial analysis. There is no possibility to clearly determine the best option, because there is no account that would be the best in all selected criteria. Due to this the four variants of methods are used for the identification of the best account, where the average of all the methods is used at the end. Specifically, account called U konto pro mladé from Unicredit bank is ranked in average in the first place. This is due to the fact that there is no fee for any of the items

Creator and masks: the literary reasons

    No full text
The reason for the appearance of this article is based, on the one hand, the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the play-tale ,,The Stag King“ (1762) of Italian playwright Carlo Gozzi, and on the other hand – the fairy tale ,,Lady in blue at the end of the day” by Anna - Lou Steininger published in ,,Foreign Literature Studies” journal in 2013. The author tells us about philosophical/ literary ideas and the use of mask and characters in literature
