Investors in stock markets are searching for computer software tools to analyze and rank stocks to make investment decisions. The analysis tools fall into two main groups: tools for fundamental analysis and tools for technical analysis of stock. In the current paper the author is looking for ways to combine fundamental and technical analysis to make better investment recommendations. Special emphasis is on money management rules used to open positions, calculate position size for each stock and overall portfolio value. Author also explains how to apply money management rules to not lose money in the markets. The object of this paper is S&P500 index stock ranking algorithms. The aim of the paper is to develop and test new stock ranking algorithms based on both technical and fundamental indicators. Money management rules is also a critical part selecting stocks and creating stock portfolios. In part 1 of the paper the reasons why each investor should you use both fundamental and technical analysis in his or her trading, and the importance of proper money management is explained. Author also writes about advantages using system trading instead of discretional trading. In part 2 of the paper the expert system is described. In part 3 of the paper the expert system is tested by analyzing S&P500 index stock and making trading decisions to form a stock portfolio. The expert system was tested for two weeks after is has been completed. Results of the system testing are analyzed and explained. This MBA paper consists of introduction, three parts, conclusion and annexes. The material is discussed in 65 pages, including 8 tables and 58 pictures, and 4 annexes

Universal fluctuating regime in triangular chromate antiferromagnets

We report x-ray diffraction, magnetic susceptibility, heat capacity, H-1 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and muon spin relaxation (mu SR) measurements, as well as density-functional band-structure calculations for the frustrated S = 3/2 triangular lattice Heisenberg antiferromagnet (TLHAF) alpha-HCrO2 (trigonal, space group: R (3) over barm). This compound undergoes a clear magnetic transition at T-N less than or similar to 22.5 K, as seen from the drop in the muon paramagnetic fraction and concurrent anomalies in the magnetic susceptibility and specific heat capacity. Local probes (NMR and mu SR) reveal a broad regime with slow fluctuations down to 0.7 T-N, this temperature corresponding to the maximum in the mu SR relaxation rate and in the NMR wipe-out. From the comparison with NaCrO2 and alpha-KCrO2, the fluctuating regime and slow dynamics below T-N appear to be hallmarks of the TLHAF with ABC stacking. We discuss the role of interlayer frustration, which may have impacted recent spin-liquid candidates with triangular geometry. This article is published as Somesh, K., Y. Multimodal Wheelchair Control for the Paralyzed People

    No full text
Most serious accidents and injuries often end with various motoric disabilities usually resulting in a limited control of the muscles of various body parts and in some worst case scenario even the whole body. The associated governmental support programs of today are targeted at providing the technological means enabling the handicapped persons to have as independent life as possible. In the presented research authors concentrate on the development of a mobility device for the paralyzed people, trying to develop an effective multimodal HCI algorithm by combining the traditional input with speech and video recognition technologies into one associative "package". Paper reviews some of the associated research on the topic, a proposed algorithm for the multimodal wheelchair control and a scheme of implementation. Programming of automation control algorithms using set of design patterns.

    No full text
There is presented an application of design patterns in a software development process for programmable automation devices. Design patterns are applied in a whole software development process from analysis to program coding and test. The software development process and the analysis of all development activities are discussed using a V-model. Typical development tasks of each activity are presented, and design patterns for each task are proposed. Some specific patterns are presented in more detail as an example for a better illustration. This set of design patterns is using in practice
