Complicated 3D mantle flow beneath Northeast China from shear wave splitting and its implication for the Cenozoic intraplate volcanism
We obtained shear wave splitting measurements from XKS (SKS and SKKS) phases recorded by the NECESSArray project consisting of 127 seismic stations in Northeast China (NEC). The most salient feature of the anisotropy in NE China is the alignment of subduction-parallel fast direction, which can be explained by the background upper mantle flow in the big mantle wedge (BMW). However, the geographical variations of fast direction and delay time, which closely follow the geometry of subducting Pacific slab, suggests that the slab morphology controls the geometry of 3-D mantle flow in the BMW. The most significant finding of this study is the complex anisotropic pattern with most nulls observed in the Changbaishan mountain region (CBM) and southern Songliao basin. At the southern Songliao basin, the small delay times as well as null measurements of shear wave splitting are coincident with the high velocity in the upper mantle down to similar to 300 km from previous studies. The observed anisotropy likely arises from the combination of BMW convection and more localized upper mantle convection, that is, a plume-like mantle upwelling from the mantle transition zone beneath the Changbaishan region triggers the down-welling beneath the southern Songliao basin. Abstract
Over a period of 2007-2011 188 stomach cancer (SC) patients have been included in the research in abdominal oncosurgical department of Odessa regional oncological dispensary. It was retrospective, one-center, nonrandomized research. Volume of lymph node dissections differed by quantity of lymph nodes to be removed. All patients were divided into three groups. Patients with D1 or D1+ lymph node dissections have been performed, totally 90 patients are included in group of historical control. The main group includes 33 patients to whom D3 lymph node dissections is executed and, finally, control group – 65 patients dissected up to the D2 volume. In all cases so-called lymph node dissections for principal reasons have been executed. The multifactorial analysis of patients survival is implemented depending on a type of a lymph node dissections, a stage of the cancer, number of involved lymph nodes, involvement of the tumoral microcirculatory net (ly is carried out, v) signs of a perinevral invasion (Nev), availability of residual tumoral tissue (R), degree of a differentiation (G). Regardless of a disease stage, SC at 60% of patients, represented with initially hematologicaly disseminated disease. 40% of SC`s had no signs of intratumoral microcirculatory net involvement even in case of more than 15 regional lymph nodes are involved. In the absence of a SC perinevral invasion appeared to be the most precise predictive marker. The conclusion is made some brand new additional prognostic factors could play a crucial role in more accurate patients selection for expanded lymph node dissections.

Summary
Mostly Will Roger`s phenomenon means existence of so-called "jumping" or "jumping over the stages" regional metastases in the stomach cancer patients. N1 in the 6th edition means 16 regional lymph nodes involvement, while the N1 seventh edition – only 1-2 of regional lymph nodes involvement. This means that T1N1Mo \ 6th and T1N1Mo \ 7th - not quite the same, and the survival of the two groups will be different. The study, made on the abdominal oncosurgical department of Odessa Regional Oncology Center, included 188 patients operated for gastric cancer in the period 2007-2011. The study included only radically treated patients. Comparison of survival in patients with gastric cancer between 6th revision groups of 7th has been reviewed. The classification mission is to provide differences in the survival rates between the groups.
Regression multivariate Cox analysis showed that 7th UICC classification showed different capability of stratifying survival groups of UICC N classification (P \ 0.01).

Y-chromosome O3 Haplogroup diversity in Sino-Tibetan populations reveals two migration routes into the Eastern Himalayas

Der Sarkissian and Wolfgang Haak are contributors to the Genographic ConsortiumThe eastern Himalayas are located near the southern entrance through which early modern humans expanded into East Asia. The genetic structure in this region is therefore of great importance in the study of East Asian origins. However, few genetic studies have been performed on the Sino-Tibetan populations (Luoba and Deng) in this region. Here, we analyzed the Y-chromosome diversity of the two populations. The Luoba possessed haplogroups D, N, O, J, Q, and R, indicating gene flow from Tibetans, as well as the western and northern Eurasians. The Deng exhibited haplogroups O, D, N, and C, similar to most Sino-Tibetan populations in the east. Short tandem repeat (STR) diversity within the dominant haplogroup O3 in Sino-Tibetan populations showed that the Luoba are genetically close to Tibetans and the Deng are close to the Qiang. The Qiang had the greatest diversity of Sino-Tibetan populations, supporting the view of this population being the oldest in the family. The lowest diversity occurred in the eastern Himalayas, suggesting that this area was an endpoint for the expansion of Sino-Tibetan people. Relationship between Dipole Moments and Harmonic Vibrational Frequencies in Diatomic Molecules

dipole moments and harmonic vibrational frequencies are
two of the most important molecular properties in many fields of chemistry
and physics. With the aid of classical physics, an empirical relationship
between them was obtained for diatomic molecules as μ<sub>d</sub> = <i>kq</i><sup>2</sup>/(<i>R</i><sub>e</sub>μ<sub>A</sub>ω<sub>e</sub><sup>2</sup>)<sup>1/2</sup>, where <i>k</i> is a constant and μ<sub>d</sub>, <i>q</i>, <i>R</i><sub>e</sub>, μ<sub>A</sub>, and ω<sub>e</sub> are the dipole moment, atomic charge, equilibrium bond length, reduced
mass, and equilibrium vibrational frequency, respectively. This relation
also provides the atomic charge <i>q</i> as a function of
molecular dipole moment. Comparisons with over 60 molecules were made
to test this relationship. For typical ionic molecules such as the
alkali halides, the predicted dipole moments are in good agreement
with the observed data assuming the atomic charges are 1 <i>e</i>. For general polar molecules, the estimated atomic charges obtained
from the electric dipole moments are in good agreement with ab initio
results for natural bond orbital and/or Mulliken populations
Internal Control Quality and Leverage Manipulation: Evidence from Chinese State-Owned Listed Companies
Promoting structural deleveraging is a key strategy for China to reduce high debt levels and mitigate systemic financial risks. In this context, the deleveraging of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) has become a national strategic priority. This study explores whether enhancing the quality of internal control as an internal governance mechanism can facilitate the deleveraging process of SOEs. Using a sample of A-share state-owned listed companies from the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges (2009–2023) and based on resource-based theory and signaling theory, we examine the impact and mechanisms through which internal control quality influences SOE leverage reduction. Our results demonstrate that higher internal control quality significantly promotes deleveraging in SOEs, and these findings remain robust after conducting endogeneity tests and employing alternative model specifications. Improved internal control mitigates resource misallocation and encourages firms to adopt two primary strategies: debt reduction (through short-term liability repayment and retained earnings) and equity expansion. However, the positive effect diminishes as Research and Development (R&D) intensity increases, reflecting the trade-off between innovation-driven growth and financial stability. Further heterogeneity analyses reveal that the deleveraging effect is more pronounced in local SOEs and over-indebted SOEs, as enhanced internal control helps eliminate non-performing liabilities. This study contributes to the literature on the economic consequences of internal control and provides empirical insights for policymakers seeking to optimize the capital structures of SOEs
Isolation and Identification of the Anti-Oxidant Constituents from Loropetalum chinense (R. Brown) Oliv. Based on UHPLC–Q-TOF-MS/MS
The aim of this study was to identify the chemical constituents of Loropetalum chinense (R. Brown) Oliv. (LCO) and determine which of these had antioxidant effects. The chemical composition of a 70% ethanol extract of LCO was analyzed systematically using UHPLC–Q-TOF-MS/MS. The chemical components of the 70% ethanol extract of LCO were then separated and purified using macroporous resin and chromatographic techniques. Antioxidant activity was evaluated using a DPPH assay. In total, 100 compounds were identified tentatively, including 42 gallic acid tannins, 49 flavones, and 9 phenolic compounds. Of these, 7 gallium gallate, 4 flavonoid and 8 quinic acid compounds were separated and purified from the 70% ethanol extract of LCO. The compounds identified for the first time in LCO and in the genus Loropetalum were 3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl-(6′-O-galloyl)-O-β-d-glucopyranoside, protocatechuic acid, ethyl gallate, 5-O-caffeoylquinic acid, 3-O-caffeoylquinic acid, 3,5-O-diocaffeoylquinic acid, 4,5-O-diocaffeoylquinic acid and 3,4-O-diocaffeoylquinic acid. The 50% inhibitory concentration (IC50) values of compounds 1,2,3,4,6-penta-O-galloyl-β-d-glucose, gallic acid, protocatechuic acid, and ethyl gallate were 1.88, 1.05, 1.18, and 1.05 μg/mL, respectively. Compared with the control group (VC) (2.08 μg/mL), these compounds exhibited stronger anti-oxidation activity. This study offered considerable insight into the chemical composition of LCO, with preliminary identification of the antioxidant ingredients
Application of Computing as a High-Practicability and -Efficiency Auxiliary Tool in Nanodrugs Discovery
Research and development (R&D) of nanodrugs is a long, complex and uncertain process. Since the 1960s, computing has been used as an auxiliary tool in the field of drug discovery. Many cases have proven the practicability and efficiency of computing in drug discovery. Over the past decade, computing, especially model prediction and molecular simulation, has been gradually applied to nanodrug R&D, providing substantive solutions to many problems. Computing has made important contributions to promoting data-driven decision-making and reducing failure rates and time costs in discovery and development of nanodrugs. However, there are still a few articles to examine, and it is necessary to summarize the development of the research direction. In the review, we summarize application of computing in various stages of nanodrug R&D, including physicochemical properties and biological activities prediction, pharmacokinetics analysis, toxicological assessment and other related applications. Moreover, current challenges and future perspectives of the computing methods are also discussed, with a view to help computing become a high-practicability and -efficiency auxiliary tool in nanodrugs discovery and development
Benzyl 2-β-Glucopyranosyloxybenzoate, a New Phenolic Acid Glycoside from <em>Sarcandra glabra</em>
From the whole plant of <em>Sarcandra glabra</em>,<strong> </strong>a new phenolic acid glycoside, benzyl 2-β-glucopyranosyloxybenzoate (<strong>1</strong>), together with seven known compounds including eleutheroside B<sub>1</sub> (<strong>2</strong>), 5-<em>O</em>-caffeoylshikimic acid (<strong>3</strong>), (–)-(7<em>S</em>, 8<em>R</em>)-dihydrodehydro-diconiferyl alcohol (<strong>4</strong>), (–)-(7<em>S</em>, 8<em>R</em>)-dihydrodehydrodiconiferyl alcohol 9-, 9′- and 4-<em>O</em>-â-D-glucopyranoside (<strong>5</strong>–<strong>7</strong>), and (–)-(7<em>S</em>, 8<em>R</em>)-5-methoxydihydrodehydrodiconiferyl alcohol 4-<em>O</em>-β-D-glucopyranoside (<strong>8</strong>) was isolated. Their structures were elucidated by spectral analysis including 1D-, 2D-NMR and HR-ESI-MS. Compound<strong> 2</strong> was found to exhibit potent cytotoxic activity against BGC-823 and A2780 cancer cell lines using MTT method with IC<sub>50</sub> value of 2.53 and 1.85 µM, respectively
