Author Heid E. Erdrich: A Reading and a Conversation (LAI)
The Literary Arts Institute presents author and interdisciplinary artist, Heid Erdrich, a week-long writer-in-residence. Heid will read from her work, followed by a Q&A with the audience moderated by LAI associate director, Rachel Marston.Heid E. Erdrich is the author of seven collections of poetry. Her writing has won fellowships and awards from the National Poetry Series, Native Arts and Cultures Foundation, McKnight Foundation, Minnesota State Arts Board, Bush Foundation, Loft Literary Center, First People’s Fund, and other honors. She has twice won a Minnesota Book Award for poetry. Heid edited the 2018 anthology New Poets of Native Nations from Graywolf Press which won an American Book Award. Her most recent poetry collection, Little Big Bully, won the Balcones Prize. Heid grew up in Wahpeton, North Dakota and is Ojibwe enrolled at Turtle Mountain

Native-American author Heid Erdrich reads from her first book of poetry at the Michigan Writers Series
Native-American author Heid Erdrich describes a student writing contest she judged earlier in the day and then reads from her first book of poetry. Erdrich also reflects on her family and life as a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Ojibway and describes influences on her writing from classic literature to tabloid headlines. Erdrich reads selections from her work that portray the tension between her Ojibway traditions and her German-American upbringing and concludes by revealing the winners of the writing contest. Author Heid E. Erdrich (Ojibwe/Turtle Mountain Band) presents the high and low points of her research while creating an indigenous foods book. Original Local: Indigenous Foods, Stories, and Recipes from the Upper Midwest, published by Minnesota Historical Society Press, includes recipes for indigenous foods from 28 Native communities. Erdrich also included photos, documents, poems, and family stories from contributors. Heid turløyper som folkehelsetiltak. Kva betydning har nærtur-prosjektet Heid turløyper som folkehelsetiltak for innbyggjarane i Herøy kommune?
Formålet med oppgåva er å undersøke kva betydning nærturprosjektet har for innbyggjarane, og om det peikar i retning regjeringa sin visjon i handlingsplanen for fysisk aktivitet (Departementene, 2020, s. 16). Det er planar om utviding av Heid turløyper. Oppgåva kan difor også ha til formål å synleggjere om utvidinga av turløypene er ein god ide, sett i lys av det eg finn om kva turløypene betyr for innbyggjarane. I fylgje tilsette i Herøy kommune er det ingen som tidlegare har undersøkt - på ein systematisk måte - kva betydning løypene har for innbyggjarane
