Humanismo y Reforma en la corte renacentista de Isabel de Vilamarí : Escipión Capece y sus lectoras
No full textDurante la primera mitad del siglo XVI y en la corte salernitana del último príncipe de la casa Sanseverino y de su esposa, Isabel de Vilamarí (noble señora de origen catalán) se desarrolló un intenso clima intelectual. Allí se congregaron artistas y humanistas italianos y españoles. En este ambiente de intercambio cultural, atento en participar en las ideas de la Reforma que se difundió en Nápoles gracias a B. Ochino y a Valdés, nace el poema De principiis rerum del último académico pontaniano: Escipión Capece. En esta obra no sólo se rastrean motivos lucrecianos y virgilianos sino también el influjo de los tratados cosmológicos de Pontano. En este estudio, la autora propone el análisis de la figura y de la obra de Capece a través de sus lectoras: Isabel de Vilamarí y las mujeres cultas de su corte.During the first half of sixteenth century and in the Salernitan court of the last prince Sanseverino and his wife Isabel de Vilamarí (a lady coming from a noble Catalan family) an intense intellectual climate developed. The new neighbourhood in the internet era: network communities serving local communities
No full textThe past two decades have witnessed many attempts to transform online communities in new neighbourhoods of the Internet era. In particular, one of the most interesting applications of Internet Technologies in this field have been ‘network communities’, that differ from online communities because they refer to a specific territory and, for this reason, serve as a social catalyst for the corresponding territorial community. Network communities, as virtual neighbourhoods, have the purpose of allowing a better understanding of physical ones, contributing to the creation and the proliferation of services most suited to the needs of residents. For this reason, municipalities and local governments should consider the opportunity to exploit network communities as useful tools for local community
management. Following this lead, this article analyses a real case study and highlights the existence of a positive
correlation between a constructive utilisation of a network community by its members, their sense of community and the degree of their involvement in local problems
Measuring knowledge creation in Virtual Teams through the Social Network Analysis
No full textThe current literature regarding Virtual Teams (VTs) lacks outcomes related to Intellectual Capital (IC) and Knowledge Management (KM). Moreover e-collaboration and VTs need the necessary metrics to assess the real benefits that KM derives from the use of new e-collaboration technologies. There is also scarce evaluation of the cause-effect linkage between a VT structural configuration and its creative performance. Following this lead, we propose an evaluation method based on Social Network Analysis (SNA) and indexes referring to knowledge creation. The paper concludes with an application on a real case study that shows how this methodology can be used as a KM tool to increase the creative output of VTs

Online communities serving territorial communities: the M8 case study
No full textThe past two decades have witnessed many experiments directing Internet technologies to neighbourhood and online community. Following this lead, the purpose of this paper is to analyse network communities (online communities organized on a specific area), serving as an engine for the development and the organization of a territory. These online communities can be managed as tools that allow a better understanding of the territory: they should be able to contribute to the creation and the proliferation of services most suited to the needs of residents.
In this paper we analyse the M8 social network as a case study: M8 is built to facilitate socialization, participation and cultural growth of people who live, study or work on the District VIII of Rome. The analysis explores the existence of a possible correlation between the participation to an online community and the sense of belonging to a territorial community. Moreover, the correlation between the use of an online community and the degree of involvement in the territory is also studied
An application of social network analysis to assess virtual innovation team performance
No full textIn this paper we analyze the existing relationship between the structural configuration of a Virtual Innovation Team and its creative performance. The structural configuration of a Virtual Innovation Team is the approach utilised by the group in the management and decision-making phases regarding both the communicative structure and the decisional style. Actually the scientific literature hardly explore the issue of the creative performance in a Virtual Team and contribution regarding Virtual Innovation Team are even more scarce.
In order to analyse the structural configuration we consider: average frequency of communication, two parameters of Social Network Analysis (network degree centralization and flow betweenness centralization), variety and variability in the use of ICT and decisional style. The creative performance is measured through fluency (ability to generate various proposals), flexibility (ability to produce versatile solutions), and originality (ability to identify unique solutions). Our analysis is applied to a real case study based on a Finmeccanica project, consisting in a contest between Virtual Innovation Teams with the aim to improve the portal of the corporate
