Synchronization and Spin-Flop Transitions for a Mean-Field XY Model in Random Field
We characterize the phase space for the infinite volume limit of a ferromagnetic mean-field XY model in a random field pointing in one direction with two symmetric values. We determine the stationary solutions and detect possible phase transitions in the interaction strength for fixed random field intensity. We show that at low temperature magnetic ordering appears perpendicularly to the field. The latter situation corresponds to a spin-flop transition

SUMMARY
Introduction. The problem of growing incidence of bad posture in children and adolescents is so significant that it has become an important social problem. One of reasons behind higher incidence of abnormal posture may be underweight, overweight or obesity. Objectives. Evaluation of incidence of bad posture in boys aged 7-15, including the Body Mass Index (BMI). Material and methods. The study included 511 boys aged 7-15 from Szczecin. Each age group consisted of approx. 50-70 children. Posture was assessed with the spherosomatometric method. Physiological curvature of the spine in the sagittal plane were determined. Next, normative values for anterior-posterior spinal curvatures were used to determine the incidence of bad posture. Based on logistic regression, the parameters of the logit model were assessed, taking into account subjects’ age and BMI. Results. In the entire population, bad posture was identified in 32.48% of subjects. Age did not differentiate the incidence of bad posture in terms of statistical significance. Boys with incorrect BMI amounted to 28.37% of all subjects. Underweight was observed in 6.96% of subjects. 7.54% of subjects were overweight and 2.03% obese, which gave a total of 9.57% of the researched population. The increase in BMI correlated with higher chances of bad posture by almost 25%, while age was a variable which reduced the risk of bad posture by almost 15%. Conclusions. Incorrect BMI predisposed subjects to bad posture. High proportion of children with bad posture justify the need to promote preventive and corrective measures. The increasing proportion of overweight and obese children should serve as a motivator to shape healthy behaviors of students and parents, as well as schools and the medical environment.

The paper discusses the transformation of not a very representative part of the city, important however for the community that resides there. The author keeps track of how a seemingly rather ineffective change, which is the creation of a mural, affects the perception of the surroundings. Urban art is not the true cause of the causative structural changes in the city. The way, however, in which it interacts with the environment and other changes significantly contributes to the creation of socially important sites

SUMMARY
Introduction. Swimming as a sport encompasses various styles and distances (from 50 up to 1,500 meters). The correlation between sports results and general/special muscle strength seems unquestionable. Aim. The purpose of this paper is to answer the question related to maintaining the proportion between muscle strength development (which depends mainly on land-based trainings) and endurance trainings in water. Material and methods. The study covered 14 leading swimmers from MKP Szczecin who specialized mainly in short and medium distances; they were members of the national senior and junior teams in the 2013/14 training year. The general strength tests were conducted at the beginning and at the end of the winter and summer preparatory periods. The following tests were performed: bench-pressing, pull-ups and bar dips. At the end of the main research period, a thrust test was conducted on land (on a swim bench), as well as a thrust test in the water. Results. All participants demonstrated progress in results between the summer season and the winter season. The range of training loads was higher in the summer due to the length of preparation (by about 100%). The individual progress was, however, very varied. Conclusions. The level of sports progress achieved by individual swimmers was greatly diversified. The relatively high level of general and special strength in the tested swimmers was linked to their need to display these motor skills while swimming. Subjects who showed the greatest progress in the general and special strength trials, displayed the biggest improvement in their swimming performance during the competition season. Swimmers with a fairly high level of strength, but a moderate sports level should analyze and improve their swimming technique. Subjects whose progress in general and special strength tests was the least significant, should try and achieve progress by developing other technical and coordination skills.

Modelowanie czasu trwania zdarzeń powtarzających się na przykładzie zmian miejsca zatrudnienia
This paper concerns the issue of survival modelling in the case of repeated events. In the modelling of this type of events, attention should be paid to the existence of dependence among the analysed durations, as well as the occurrence of unobserved heterogeneity. One of the ways to include these aspects in the analysis is to use models with random effects. The primary objective of this paper is to present the application of such models to analyse changes in the place of employment. The duration of individual periods of employment for the surveyed employees was modelled. The approach used made it possible to identify factors influencing decisions on job changes, but also to assess the risk of occurrence of events such as termination of employment, and to examine the impact of unobserved heterogeneity on the results of the estimations.W artykule został podjęty problem modelowania czasu trwania w przypadku powtarzających się zdarzeń. This study has been prepared as part of a project funded by the National Science Centre, Poland, entitled “The modeling of parallel family and occupational careers with Bayesian methods” (2015/17/B/HS4/02064)

Stwierdzono, iż w ponad połowie badanych pływalni krytych (51,7%) znak zakazu A-8 „skakanie do wody zabronione” miał formę graficzną niezgodną z obowiązującymi przepisami. W celu zwiększenia bezpieczeństwa osób korzystających z pływalni krytych należałoby podjąć działania zmierzające do opracowania i wprowadzenia ujednoliconych wzorów oznaczeń, co stanowi konieczny warunek pełnego uczestnictwa we współczesnej kulturze fizycznej.

Abstract
The aim of the research was to determine the level and nature of risks occurring in the sign zone of indoor pools relating to required safety rules. The research was conducted at 29 facilities located in ten provinces. The method of qualitative field research was applied. It was found that at more than half of the examined indoor pools (51.7%) the A-8 prohibitory sign “jumping into water is prohibited” had the graphic form that was inconsistent with the binding provisions. The information signs: C-2 – “dangerous depth of water” and C-3 – “sudden drop” occurred only at 27.6% of examined facilities. Within the scope of non-legal signs – communicators it was found that there is no uniform manner of providing information. The symbols used is very diverse which causes chaos in the form of various markings. In order to improve the safety of persons using the indoor pools, activities aiming at developing and introducing uniform models of markings should be undertaken, which constitutes a necessary condition of full participation in modern physical culture.
