***By pointing out the conflict between the "traditional" and "modern" as a paradigmatic opposition of modernity, this paper deals with these terms, giving an example of socially engaged music during the 1930s in the Nazi Germany. Stepping out of the usual interpretations of the relationship between the traditional and modern, through the existing formal dispositions in musi, the author transfers the debate to a different level by seeking possibilites to interpret music a sone of the factor of the complex social changes occuring during the fourth decade of the 20th century. Since the term "traditional" from the point of view of (macro) sociologists basicallz represents an obstacle to social change - and is therefore opposed to progressive social movements, trends and directions -thi paper will present a different view on this issue and the role of music in social change, using the example of "degenerate" (Entartete) and "Aryan" music. At the same time, by focusing on music which is directly related to social changes and ad society as a whole, this paper follows the critical disscussion of two disciplines - sociology and musicology with regard to the relationship between music and society

Experimental verification of parameters in automobile crankshaft modelling for vibration analysis

In the interest of utilized more stable automobile components at high speed for reduction the vibration of mechanical system, dynamic characteristics analysis plays a vital role in complex mechanical parts. This paper introduces a clarified approach on statistical investigation and modal analysis methodology to study, predict and accurate crankshaft natural frequencies by using design of experiment (DOE). In this research, first, simulation had been done with MSC Nastran/ Patran to find out the natural frequencies in each mode shape of crankshaft as well as the verification with experiment was carried out. In order to less inaccuracy, numerous simplified crankshaft models were created by using these as input and DOE was established to acquire precise parameters of optimized crankshaft design as the second phase. This method can be further used for the optimizing the structural parameters and would provide some value basis to qualitative measure of parameters and determination of optimized structure. In Conclusion, modal verification accuracy between experimental and simulation has improved

Experimental analysis on structure-borne noise in an enclosure

This paper present the experimental analysis conducted on a structure-borne noise in a rectangular enclosure prototype made by joining of sheet aluminum metal and plywood. The study is significant as the structural noise could cause annoyance and dizziness thus by deepening the comprehension on the structure-borne noise, the noise problem could be overcome. In this study, modal analysis is carried out to seek the structure’s behavior in order to identify the characteristics of enclosure in frequency domain ranging from 1 Hz to 100 Hz. Here, numbers of modes are identified and the characteristic of mode shape is categorized. Modal experiment is used to diagnose the structural behavior while microphone is used to diagnose the sound. Spectral testing is performed on the enclosure and it is acoustically excited using shaker and as it vibrates, the vibrational and noise responses sensed by tri-axis accelerometer and microphone sensors are recorded respectively. The modal modes extracted from the experiment are validated by simulation performed using MSC NASTRAN/PATRAN software. From developed prototype, the structural behavior can be diagnosed and the mode shape can be determined. In the end of the study, the relation and major contribution of the structural and sound in the enclosure can be identified from the observation of both spectrums
