Penetration of English Words into the Croatian Language
Autorica piše o nekontroliranom prodorom engleskih neprilagodjenih rijeci i izraza u hrvatski jezik. The woman author discusses the uncontrolled penetration of unadapted English words and expressions into the Croatian language. She states the grounds for such situation and illustrates them with sellected examples from daily and weekly newspapers and from television
Teachers of Croatian as a Foreign Language Between Different Cultures
The author discusses the position of native speaking teachers of Croatian as a foreign language in Croatia as opposed to their position when teaching abroad. She offers various examples which illustrate the role of teachers in overcoming difficulties in class
resulting from different cultural background
VIDSKI GLAGOLSKI P AROVI U DVOJEZIČNOJ LEKSIKOGRAFIJI (HRVATSKI ]EZIK -STRANI ]EZIK)
It has turned out that in learning Croatian as a foreign language one of the major problems is the acquisition of the verbal aspect since this category does not exist in languages other than Slavonic. The author maintains that the perfective/imperfective aspect of verbs should be tackled from the point of view of Croatian as a foreign language in bilingual lexicography (Croatian + FL) as well. This might also offer a better insight into the phenomenon for Croatian native speakers, who rarely make mistakes in the verbal aspect.U učenju hrvatskoga kao stranoga jezika pokazalo se da glagolski vid stvara velike poteškoće svima onima koji tu kategoriju nemaju u materinskom jeziku (a imaju je samo slavenski jezici).
društvo, hrvatski jezik, matematika, likovna kultura, glazbena kultura i tjelesna i zdravstvena
kultura).
teksta osmislila ove dane i većina se aktivnosti odvijala upravo u njezinu razreduThe article describes the carrying out of the integrated class days with the
first-, second-, third- and fourth-grade pupils of the Elementary School Kraljica Jelena
in Solin, School district of Kučine. The aim of the integrated class days was to
learn about the water primarily through experiments and discoveries in the students’
immediate environment. This type of research arouses great interest and motivation
among students, increases their contentment in school, their activity and desire to
discover new things, to research and cooperate.
The activities of students and teachers have been briefly presented through
several different school subjects (Science and Society, Croatian, Mathematics, Art,
Music and Physical Education). The third grade students' activities are most thoroughly
described, since the author of the article was also the author of activities dedicated
to the Days of Water and the majority of the activities took place in her class.
gezeigt (AG-Arbeitgemeinschaft, Kroatisch, Mathematik, Bildende Kunst, Musik
The Case of the Resnik Wedding
The author explores the identity of the Resnik wedding, an innovation that may become a tradition. This refers to a change in the carneval custom of the village of Resnik, near Zagreb, a village whose inhabitants work, for the most part, in the city. In 1963, the inhabitants of Resnik introduced to their carneval procession a reconstruction of sorts of an authentic old-fashioned wedding, that was lost to tradition, instead of the customary mock wedding of the carnival. The work of the director [a local intellectual] is visible in description of the three versions of this innovation [1963, 1975, 1984]. He does not dramatize the text of the wedding as a writer might, but instructs the performers how to improvize on the theme of the given story. This procedure, as well as the stage adaptability of
this innovation, indicates that the Resnik wedding ought to be
treated as folklore theater. The author speaks of the Resnik wedding as an oral literature phenomenon, and of the functions of this performance, with consideration for the participants' attitudes. She then goes on to speak of the influences [conscious and unconscious] that have led to such innovations in the customs.
Although ethnologists are reluctant to study non·standardized phenomena, phenomena that have not yet become traditions, the author considers that the Resnik wedding is interesting for traditionalist ethnologists as well, particularly the route it takes from a carneval improvisation to a contemporary folklore "life-like" comedy
The author presents learning in private relationships between adult siblings. A concept of a family as microculture is presented, which is a source for giving explanation for random and opportunist learning. The author has used a biographic method of research. Using thematic life stories, which she has familiarized herself with through thematicalbiographical interviews is a basis to establish which events have served for learning in relationships between siblings.
Misinformation and disinformation problem in the digital environment
To uključuje ulogu internacionalnih i državnih institucija, javnih medija, društvenih mreža i običnih pojedinaca. The development of the Internet has brought many changes to the ways of receiving news and seeking information. Although the ability to quickly and easily share information is a big advantage, the Internet has become a place filled with harmful, incorrect and fabricated content. In order to deal with this problem, it is first necessary to understand its characteristics. The first part of this paper explains the terms disinformation, misinformation, fake news, and propaganda based on the literature. It also defines the motivation for dissemination of this harmful content, as well as how it spreads through the Internet and media. The second part of the paper focuses on the COVID-19 “infodemic” – the massive spread of disinformation and misinformation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on previous research, the author defines the main topics of the fake news, how and why they were spread, and what effects they had. In the third part of the paper, the author lists and explains some of the strategies used to combat the disinformation and misinformation problem. This includes the involvement of international and state institutions, mass media, social networks, and ordinary individuals
Researchers and Narrators (Stanko Vraz, Đuro Deželić, Vinko Žganec − among the Croats in Hungary)
Muzikolog Vinko Žganec proveo je nekoliko zimskih dana 1958. godine među Hrvatima u okolici Nagykanizse i objavio knjigu o njihovoj usmenoj pjesmi. Trideset godina nakon toga autorica pokušava utvrditi repertoar kazivača-pjevača istih ovih kajkavskih sela, imajući u vidu slijedeće okolnosti: dugotrajnu (ne)mogućnost komuniciranja s pripadnicima srodnog dijalektalnog idioma u Hrvatskoj; postojanje Žgančeve publikacije (dolazi li do povratne informacije?); suvremeni repertoar pjesama i okolnost da je u međuvremenu proradila tzv.“kulturnoumjetnička aktivnost”.The musicologist Vinko Žganec spent several winter days in 1958 among the Croats around Nagykanizse and published a book on their songs. Thirty years later, the author attempted to establish the repertoire of the informants-singers in the same kajkavian villages, keeping in mind: the long period when communication was (im)possible with speakers of related dialect idioms in Croatia; the existence of Žganec's publication (is there a feedback of information); the contemporary repertoire of songs, and the circumstance that in the meantime so-called “cultural-artistic” activities have developed
A discusdion of prose and poetry by Peter Svetina in the first triennium
The theoretical part of my diploma work deals with a poet and writer Peter Svetina, his biography ( with emphasis on autopoethics) and his bibliography. It deals with a literary theory which is important for evaluation of his works and their placement into the concept of children's literature. In a more detailed way, it presents the literary texts which I discussed together with the pupils of the second class for my diploma work.
These texts are poetry anthologies such as The Passing-By World, Poems From The Washing Machine and literary texts such as About The Walrus That Didn't Want To Cut Its Nails, The Walrus Gets Glasses, The Hat Of Mr. Constantine, The Wisdom Of Hippos, How Jaromir Was Looking For Happiness and the Magic Ring.
The research part of my diploma work deals with the examples of pupils' interpretations of the chosen texts, the creative works of the pupils themselves and their responses, the description of the knowledge survey about the poet and writer Peter Svetina and research results. It also introduces criteria of texts selection for reading by the pupils of the first three classes of the Primary School Nove Fužine.
It has been found out that our pupils didn't know the author Peter Svetina beforehand. Our pupils from the first three classes deal with books and literary works in an integrated way and that's exactly the purpose of the author. Our pupils' emphasis is on the animal characters in literature but with the appropriate preparation they can identify themselves with adult characters in literature as well
