Equilibrium transition study for a hybrid MAV
No full textWind tunnel testing was performed on a VTOL aircraft in order to characterize longitudinal flight behavior during an equilibrium transition between vertical and horizontal flight modes. Trim values for airspeed, pitch, motor speed and elevator position were determined. Data was collected by independently varying the trim parameters, and stability and control derivatives were identified as functions of the trim pitch angle. A linear fractional representation model was then proposed, along with several methods to improve longitudinal control of the aircraft

Ernest Cigare' s Lie : About Identity at Work
This comparison of two methods of gathering data -semidirective interviews and direct observation - reveals contradictions about the sense of identity at work in the interviewed person. Whereas the interviewee's discourse seems relatively coherent, his actual practices are diverse and paradoxical. Given this observation, made while examining a precise case (a Social Security employee), the author discusses the notion of identity that labor sociology has worked out. He concludes that, besides strategic relationships, relations based on know-how are important in the definition and recognition of this identity.Cet article confronte deux méthodes de recueil des données, l'entretien semi-directif et l'observation directe et met en évidence les contradictions qu'elles révèlent sur l'identité au travail de l'interviewé. Alors que le discours tenu par celui-ci témoigne d'une relative cohérence, sa pratique en situation apparaît diverse et paradoxale. Partant de cette constatation qui repose sur l'examen précis du cas d'un agent de sécurité sociale, l'auteur discute la notion d'identité telle qu'elle a été élaborée par la sociologie du travail et conclut, au-delà des relations stratégiques, à l'importance des rapports de savoir dans la définition et la reconnaissance de cette identité.Weller Jean-Marc. This study is mainly based on the debat that took place in the Cinq Cents assembly and in public opinion from Frumaire Year VII to Floreal on the subject of the wearing of the cocarde. The author recalls the various stages of this national emblem from the beginning of the Revolution and then, using the speeches and reports of Year VII, he analyzes exactly what was at stake politically in the different opinions voiced at the time. No longer compulsory, the cocarde for some represented the sign of recognition amongst true republicans — women and foreigners excluded ; for young people, it appaeared to be a sign of integration into the community of civic affairs ; or it stood for equality or, yet again, the military adopted the cocarde at a time when the army's star was rising higner and higher.Jean-Marc Devocelle : La cocarde directoriale, dérives d'un symbole révolutionnaire.
Cette étude est principalement fondée sur le débat qui s'est instauré en frimaire an VII aux Cinq Cents, comme dans l'opinion publique pour se poursuivre jusqu'en floréal, sur le problème du port de la cocarde. No full textCe travail de recherche tente de redéfinir l’émancipation intellectuelle et sensible que permettent certaines expériences cinématographiques. « Le spectateur, pour l’auteur, n’est autre qu’un autre auteur » écrivait Pasolini. Danièle Huillet et Jean-Marie Straub, Harun Farocki et Pedro Costa (mais également Jean-Claude Rousseau,James Benning, Robert Kramer, ou parmi les jeunes cinéastes, Wang Bing, Albert Serra et Lisandro Alonso) inventent des dispositifs cinématographiques qui profanent le cinéma. En déconstruisant le langage cinématographique, en mettant au jour leur« armature artistique », les films profanes libèrent et transmettent des énergies, des capacités d’imagination et de production (ou création). Les cinéastes profanes ne se déclarent pas éducateurs ou enseignants. Leur fonction n’est pas de communiquer un message, de donner une leçon ou de transmettre un savoir au spectateur. Ils considèrent le spectateur comme un égal, « un collègue éventuel ». Ils disséminent les traces de leur travail dans leurs films. Le spectateur peut alors recueillir ces traces afin de reconstruire une méthode de production, de fabrication, d’un film. La transmission d’une méthode (ou d’une énergie créative) nécessite une rencontre entre un cinéaste qui a l’intention de transmettre – par la bande – un savoir faire, une manière de représenter, de mettre en image une expérience, et un spectateur qui reconnaît dans les traces la maîtrise de l’auteur et souhaite l’exproprier de ce savoir faire.This research work tries to redefine sensitive and intellectual emancipation that allows some cinematographic experiments. "The Viewer, for the author, is other than another author" wrote Pasolini. Danièle Huillet and Jean-Marie Straub, Harun Farocki and Pedro Costa (but also Jean-Claude Rousseau, James Benning, Robert Kramer, or among young filmmakers, Wang Bing, Albert Serra and Lisandro Alonso) invented cinematographic devices that profane film. By deconstructing the film language, by updating their "artistic frame", profane films release and transmit energy, imagination and production (or creation) capabilities. Profane filmmakers do not declare themselves educators or teachers. Their function is not to communicate a message, give a lesson or to transmit knowledge to the Viewer. They consider the Viewer as an equal, "a potential colleague. They spread the traces of their work in their films. The spectator can then collect these traces in order to reconstruct a method of producing, manufacturing, a film.The transmission of a method (or a creative energy) requires an encounter between a filmmaker who intends to pass - band - know-how, a way to represent, implement image a viewer who recognizes in traces the mastery of the author and wishes to expropriate this know-how and experience
Introduction à la lecture de Jean-Marc Lovay: à propos du livre Epître aux Martiens
No full textComposé en 1967 par Jean-Marc Lovay, le roman Épître aux Martiens n’a été publié qu’en 2004, aux Editions Zoé. Paru lorsque des titres aussi importants que La Tentation de l’Orient (1970), Polenta (1980), ou Aucun de mes os ne sera troué pour servir de flûte enchantée (1998) avaient déjà assuré la notoriété de l’auteur, ce livre constitue une initiation indispensable à un auteur difficile, mais alerte sur le monde contemporain. Notre analyse portera sur ce roman, que nous situerons dans le contexte de ses origines, mais dont la lecture, déjouant le lecteur inaverti, convoque celle d’autres grands auteurs romands de la modernité, dont Maurice Chappaz, dans la poursuite d’un travail inépuisable sur la langue littéraire.Althought it was written in 1967, Jean-Marc Lovay’s novel Épître aux Martiens was published in 2004 (Éditons Zoé). Published when so important books as La Tentation de l’Orient (1970), Polenta (1980), or Aucun de mes os ne sera troué pour servir de flûte enchantée (1998) had already insured their author’s fame, this novel reveals itself as an important introduction to a difficult author, but much aware of contemporary word. Vers une éducation au dialogue interreligieux africanisée : Contribution de la vision éducative et théologique de Jean-Marc Ela
No full textDans cet article, l’auteur cherche à saisir comment la pensée de Jean-Marc Ela peut contribuer à africaniser l’éducation au dialogue interreligieux destinée aux jeunes Africains. Il le fait à partir de la vision éducative d’Ela, selon laquelle l’école en Afrique doit être africaine, au sens d’être pensée et organisée en s’inspirant des cultures et des réalités africaines, afin de former d’authentiques Africains. Il tient aussi compte de sa conception du dialogue interreligieux, selon laquelle les croyants africains doivent accueillir le pluralisme dans le champ religieux afin que, dans le respect de leurs différences, ils puissent mettre leurs fois et croyances au service du bien commun en Afrique.In this article, the author investigates the ways in which Jean-Marc Ela's thought can contribute to the Africanization of interreligious dialogue education intended for young Africans. Ela’s vision of education implies that schools in Africa must be African, rooted in African cultures and daily realities in order to educate authentic Africans. Using this idea as a starting point, the author also takes into account Ela’s conception of interreligious dialogue : African believers must welcome pluralism in the religious field and, while celebrating their differences, put their faith and belief at the service of the common good in Africa

What psychological, linguistic and sociobiographical variables power EFL/ESL teachers’ motivation?

motivation dimensions of intrinsic motivation, identified regulation, introjected regulation, external regulation and amotivation (Fernet et al., 2008), and age, gender, English as L1/LX, English proficiency, global trait emotional intelligence (Trait EI), well-being, emotionality, self-control and sociability (Petrides & Furnham, 2000, 2001). The study builds on existing work on the link between English language teacher emotions and their self-reported classroom behaviour (Dewaele et al., 2018; Dewaele & Mercer, 2018). Through a sociobiographical questionnaire, the short version of the Trait EI questionnaire (TEIQshort form; Petrides, 2009) and the English version of the LEXTALE, the author concludes that motivation is linked with a range of psychological, demographic and linguistic variables, and builds psychological and personality profiles of motivated teachers
