[[alternative]]Wen Xin Diao Long: The Study of The Writing System
[[abstract]] 本研究旨在以《文心雕龍》全書五十篇為研究對象,建構出《文心雕龍》的創作體系。藉由「文論原則」、「創作方法」與「期待效應」三方面的探究創作體系。「文論原則」掘發出創作體系之價值本源為「道」,可知劉勰認為具正情正理的文學內容才有益國計民生;而載道本原的文本與價值本原的「道」應具「道」先而「文」後的「自然生發原則」;「創作方法」架構出創作行為者的才氣學習與情性之間對創作的影響,使複製理想作者成為可能;而創作法應由內容之貫一主導,配合形式的使用,具有「相應原則」與「新變原則」,讓作品兼具內容與形式,更將創作之法系統化;最後的「期待效應」藉作者心中的隱藏讀者之期待,再次具體說明文學的內容與形式要求,建構出架基在「情-采」上的創作體系。[[abstract]] The purpose of the study is to construct the author's creation system of Wen Xin Diao Long with 50 chapters of Wen Xin Diao Long as the research object. The study is explored in terms of the three aspects-the principle of the literary theory, the creation method and the expectation effect. In the first aspect, the principle of literary theory advocates that the value of the creation system is "Tao". It can be seen that Liu Wei believes that the literary content of positive emotions and positive thinking is beneficial to the national economy and the people's livelihood. Besides, the original text with Tao and the "Tao" existing in the value of the text should follow the principle of natural occurrence-Tao should precede rhetoric. As to the aspect of creation method, it constructs the influences that caused by the author's talents, temperament, acquirements, and personality, which makes it possible to create an ideal author. Moreover, the creation method should be led by the united content cooperating with the use of the forms and composed of "the corresponding principle" and "the updating principle", which makes the literary works compose of both the contents and the forms and makes the creation method systematic. Finally, it comes to the aspect of the expectation method, which once again specifies the requirements of the content as well as the forms and constructs the creation system based on "Ching" and "Tsai"
Some studies on the weak-strong uniqueness property for the compressible Navier-Stokes equations
M.Phil.We will study the compressible Navier-Stokes Equations in this thesis. The well-posedness of global strong solutions to the Navier-Stokes Equations is one of the central issues in the mathematical theory of compressible fluids. The thesis will be devoted to the weak-strong uniqueness property for the compressible Navier-Stokes Equations. Weak-strong uniqueness refers to the property that if there are a weak solution and a strong solution of the equations with the same data, then the two solutions are identical. In particular, the property implies a classical solution to the corresponding initial boundary value problem is unique in a larger class where the existence theory holds.In the thesis, the known results on this aspect will be reviewed in details including both the barotropic case and the full heat-conducting case. The essential method of relative entropy will also be studied in depth. The weak-strong uniqueness property under different pressure laws will be investigated. We will also try to generalize a result on the barotropic case to the full heat-conducting case using similar ideas.本論文將研究可壓縮納維|斯托克斯方程。可壓縮納維|斯托克斯方程的強解適定性一直是可壓縮流體的數學理論之中心問題,本論文將以可壓縮納維|斯托克斯的「強|弱唯一性」為主題。「強|弱唯一性」是指當有一個強解和有一個弱解,並這兩個解滿足相同的(邊界和初始)條件時,這兩個解是相同的。其中,這個性質將可推導出經典解在弱解存在的空間乃唯一的。這論文會將這方面的已知結果存細回顧,當中包括正壓和全熱傳導的情況。這方面理論中的重要工具為相對熵,其理論將在文中詳細說明和探索。而「強|弱唯一性」在不同的壓力形式下的情況將在文中加以研究。本文亦將嘗試將一個正壓情形下的已知定理推廣到全熱傳導的情形。Yeung, Chin Ching.Thesis M.Phil. Evaluation of Patients with Vaccine Allergies Prior to mRNA-Based COVID-19 Vaccination
During the initial rollout of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination in Singapore, the Ministry of Health (MOH) issued a recommendation that patients with a history of any previous vaccine allergy be referred to an allergist for further review of their suitability to proceed with mRNAbased COVID-19 vaccines. Patients fulfilling the above criterion were divided into three groups: immediate reaction (Group A), delayed reaction (Group B) and no/irrelevant reaction (Group C). They were subjected to either a skin prick test (SPT) and intradermal test (IDT) with polyethylene glycol (PEG) or polysorbate-containing products; direct injection with the Pfizer BNT162b2 vaccine in the allergy clinic; or injection at community vaccination centres, respectively. Groups A and B were also invited to complete a questionnaire survey on post-vaccination reactions, and blood sampling pre-vaccination and 1 h after the first dose of the BNT162b2 vaccine to measure immunoglobulin (Ig) G, IgM and IgE antibodies to the Pfizer BNT162b2 vaccine via ELISA assays immobilised with the BNT162b2 vaccine, as well as levels of allergic cytokines interleukin (IL)-4 and IL-33, complement C5a and the endothelial activation marker intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1). Groups A and B comprised 62 (20.5%) patients each. In Group A, two subjects (3.2%) with equivocal IDT results tolerated both doses of the BNT162b2 vaccine without major allergic reactions. The remaining 60 (96.8%) in Group A and 62 (100%) in Group B completed both doses of BNT162b2 vaccination without major adverse reactions. Among the 99 who completed the questionnaire survey, 13 (13%) patients reported mild allergic reactions after the first dose of the vaccine. Immunoglobulin (Ig) G and M antibodies, but not IgE antibodies to the Pfizer BNT162b2 vaccine were detected in 67 subjects prior to vaccination. The presence of anti-Pfizer BNT162b2 IgG and IgM prior to vaccination did not result in major allergic reactions nor increases in Th2-related cytokines (IL-4, IL-33), complement activation products (C5a) or endothelial activation (ICAM-1). The majority of those with suspected reactions to non-COVID-19 polysorbate-containing vaccines tolerated the BNT162b2 vaccine. Excipient skin tests for PEG and polysorbate prior to vaccination are unnecessary.</p

Synthesis and characterisation of nanostructured BiFeO3 for photodecolourisation of azo dyes using visible light
In this work, effort is being made to synthesize a narrow band gap ferroelectric perovskite nanostructure semiconductor that is BiFeO3 (BFO). The BFO nanopowders were synthesized at 650ºC using a self-combustion method with glycine as the fuel. The effect of the different fuel concentrations, annealing temperatures and the duration of annealing are all demonstrated to influence the phase and crystallography of the synthesized nanoparticles. The author has demonstrated that the self-combustion process can be used to produce high purity BFO nanopowders which exhibit good absorption in the visible-light regime as determined by the UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy with a measured optical band gap of 2.22 eV. [[abstract]] 劉勰所著《文心雕龍》是中國文學史上第一部完整且具系統化整理的文學理論專著。《文心雕龍》所建構的理論系統中,大致可分為本體論、體裁論、創作論、批評鑑賞論等部分。筆者即以《文心雕龍》創作論中的〈神思〉篇作為本學術研究論文的主要書寫對象,嘗試以新的學術研究觀察角度與面向探討,深入剖析〈神思〉篇中「神」與「思」的本質建構以及生成系統。 本論文第一章,緒論,交代研究動機、研究目的、研究方法、論述程序。第二章,前人研究概況與檢討,進行文獻回顧。第三章,首先研究「神」的本質,主要論證聚焦在於對「物」的理解,以及對「象」的還原;其次研究「神」的生成系統,主要論證建構在生成基礎的認知與生成步驟的條件。第四章,首先研究「思」的本質,主要論證以「作者為中心」探討構思的構成與條件;其次研究「思」的生成系統,主要論證以「作品為中心」探討構思的組織,並以修辭原則為研究重心。第五章,結論,統整以上章節的論證,建構「神思」的構思體系。 本論文著重在新的學術研究觀察角度與面向探討,提供不同以往的學術研究視野,以期開拓後續相關論題的研究者作為學術研究的參考。[[abstract]] Liu Xie book“Wen Xin Diao Long”is the first full history of Chinese literature possessed systematized literary theory monograph.“Wen Xin Diao Long”constructed by the theoretical system be broadly grouped into ontology,genre theory,creating theory,criticism and other parts of appreciation theory. Ming mo Wan bei she hui de dong luan yu bian qian: yi nan zhi li Fengyang fu Yingzhou Taihe Xian wei zhong xin = Rebellion and social change in late Ming : the case of Taihe County in northern Anhui
M.Phil.Between 1635 and 1642, Taihe county, like many other regions in Northern China, saw the onslaught of liukou, literally "mobile bandits", who sieged and ultimately occupied the county seat. Two county magistrates of Taihe had left us with substantial records of the chaos and terror caused by the liukou campaign, and the efforts of the Taihe county government to defend the county seat. It would however become the historian's undoing to simply retell the two county magistrates' story of savage attack, heroic defense and tragic downfall. Instead, this thesis shows that bandit invasion triggered the establishment of a new social order and power structure, one in which the gentry rose and loomed large. The threat of bandits provided the gentry with a precious opportunity to assert itself both against the county government and at the expense of local bullies that were once dominating. Online algorithms for 1-space bounded multi dimensional bin packing and hypercube packing
In this paper, we study 1-space bounded multi-dimensional bin packing and hypercube packing. A sequence of items arrive over time, each item is a d-dimensional hyperbox (in bin packing) or hypercube (in hypercube packing), and the length of each side is no more than 1. These items must be packed without overlapping into d-dimensional hypercubes with unit length on each side. In d-dimensional space, any two dimensions i and j define a space P ij. When an item arrives, we must pack it into an active bin immediately without any knowledge of the future items, and 90 {ring operator}-rotation on any plane P ij is allowed. The objective is to minimize the total number of bins used for packing all these items in the sequence. In the 1-space bounded variant, there is only one active bin for packing the current item. If the active bin does not have enough space to pack the item, it must be closed and a new active bin is opened. For d-dimensional bin packing, an online algorithm with competitive ratio 4 d is given. Moreover, we consider d-dimensional hypercube packing, and give a 2 d+1-competitive algorithm. The Justice of Balance: Understanding Intellectual Property from Chinese Historical and Philosophical Perspectives
PhDIn today's world, intellectual property is widely viewed as a threat to the public interest in
using knowledge. As many scholars have argued, a theoretical reason accounting for this
phenomenon is that traditional understanding of intellectual property emphasizes strong
property rights rather than the public interest. As historical studies have shown, this
understanding is fundamentally influenced by the practice of printing monopoly of
sixteenth-seventeenth century England, which gave overwhelming attention to
appropriation.
This thesis tries to join the above debates by examining the intellectual property history
of pre-modern China. Based on the historical inquiry, it further makes several theoretical
suggestions to the ongoing development of intellectual property theories.
This thesis argues that intellectual property practice as a tool of stimulating creativity
emerged in China when the commercialization of knowledge products made the
intellectual property protection a must. A more important finding is that, in a relatively
non-monopolistic atmosphere, tremendous efforts were made to effectively disseminate
knowledge to enhance the public interest; there existed no obvious conflict between
stimulating knowledge creativity and promoting knowledge use.
This thesis then suggests that knowledge creativity and knowledge use are inherently
inter-nutritional and inter-conflicting. To promote their reciprocity, it is crucial to keep
balance between maximizing knowledge use and stimulating robust knowledge creativity.
This thesis further proposes a system containing `the right of accessing knowledge' and
`the right of deserving reward', in which intellectual property is only a mean to the end
and coexists with various alternative models.
This thesis provides a firm theoretical support to the public interest but does not
necessarily devalue the importance of knowledge creativity and intellectual property. In
many fields, well-designed intellectual property laws must continue to prevail
