TAM 2.0
Most courses in the Computer Science Bachelor at the Delft University of Technology make use of lab sessions. During these lab sessions students can ask questions about course material and get feedback on their assignment. Moreover, their knowledge about assignments can be orally tested. In order to properly help the students, teaching assistants, or TAs, are selected to assist the lecturer during the lab sessions. With the number of students in the Bachelor quickly growing, the process of manually recruiting students to become a TA and assigning the TAs to lab sessions is becoming very time consuming and almost impossible. During a Bachelor End Project in 2018 four students (van Deursen et al., 2018) created the Teach- ing Assistant Management (TAM) platform. This project aimed to ease the process of recruiting and scheduling TAs. All parties involved in the process of appointing TAs can use TAM to provide their input. Lecturers can register their courses on TAM and students are able to indicate their interest and availability to help with different courses. However, the first version of TAM missed a number of important features. For example, student avail- ability data had to be extracted manually and teachers still had to email their TA selection to the coordinator. This project aims to continue and improve TAM with these missing features. In order to achieve this goal TAM 2.0 has been developed. TAM 2.0 consists of three components: a MySQL database, a back end written using Spring and Java containing the business logic, and a front end website created using Vue to provide an interface to its users. TAM 2.0 also integrated LabraCORE. LabraCORE provides user and course information to several platforms and stores it conveniently in one central place.TAMComputer Science and Engineerin
Human Resource Management System
Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Scienc
An ottoman author from kars to Istanbul: Karslı-zade Cemâleddġn Mehmed Efendi
AN OTTOMAN AUTHOR FROM KARS TO ISTANBUL: KARSLI-ZADE CEMÂLEDDIN MEHMED EFENDİCemaleddin Efendi, “Karsizade” diye bilinir. Süleymaniye müderrislerinden Karslı
Hoca Mehmed Efendi‟nin oğludur. ilmiye sınıfında yetişmiş, medreselerde müderrislik
yapmış olduğu. Süleymaniye Medresesi bunlardan biridir. Âlim bir kişiydi. Karsî-zade, Karsi-zâde ve Hocazade lakablarıyla anılmıştır.
1836‟da yaptıan Şehzade sünnet düğünleri dolayısıyla alanında ilk defa yazılan Türkçe
dinî ve tıbbî kitabına “Me‟dübetü‟l-Hitan” (istanbul, 1252) adÝnÝ vermiĢtir. Sultan II.
Mahmud‟a sunulan bu risale, aynı yılda Takvim-i Vekayi‟de basÝlmÝĢtÝr.
tarihinde azledilerek istanbul‟a dönmüştür. Ardından Takvîm-i Vekāyi„ musahhihliğine getirilmiştir. 5 yıl boyunca (1840-1845) bu vazifede kalmıştır. Cemâleddin Efendi‟nin Ģöhreti, Takvîm-i Vekāyi„ musahhihliği sonrasında Sultan Abdülmecid‟in emriyle kaleme aldığı “Âyîne-i Zurefâ” (1843) adlı eserinden gelir.
„Huzur
Dersleri‟yle ilgili bir makale yayÝnlanmÝĢtÝr. Ancak Osmanlıca baskıları sahaflarda gezen, mesela „Me‟dübetü‟l-Hitan‟ın tarihî, folklorik ve sosyolojik yönleri olduğundan; muhtevasının tanıtılmasına ihtiyaç bulunmaktadır.
Ayrıca “Fevaidü‟l-Veledeyn” isimli, “sarf-nahiv” konulu eser, “Karsîzade Muhammed
Cemal‟e atfedilmektedir.

Economic utopia of the Torah. Economic concepts of the Hebrew Bible interpreted according to the Rabbinical Literature
Hebrew Bible offers alternative Economic utopia for building Theocratic society. In this paper, various economic concepts and themes are presented, as found in the Hebrew Bible. These economic concepts include taxation, property rights, labor market, social policy, banking, years of Sabbath and Jubilee, and business cycles. Most economic issues of the Bible are found in the texts of Torah, also known as five Books of Moses. These texts are analyzed by using classical Rabbinical commentaries for better insight. Contrary to the modern Economic theory which is based on the assumptions of scarcity of resources and unlimited needs of consumers, Economics of the Torah is based on God’s resources which are enough for all true needs of His people.Hebrew Bible, History of Economics, History of Economic Thought, Ancient Israel, Judaism
Imitating nature to produce nacre-inspired composite materials with bacteria
In this study, a method for the bacterial production of a nacre-mimicking composite material was developed. Nacre (mother-of-pearl) is an organic-inorganic composite found in the inner lining of many mollusk shells and in pearls. It has a brick-and-mortar structure consisting of 95% aragonite (calcium carbonate) platelets and 5% organic matrix. Serving as a protective structure against e.g. predators, nacre has developed into an extremely strong and tough material, despite largely consisting of ceramic calciumcarbonate. Numerous mechanisms have been proposed to explain the outstanding mechanical properties of nacre, such as crack deflection and local strain hardening. Many groups are pursuing the aim of developing new materials which mimic nacre’s structure and mechanical properties. Nacre is produced by mollusks at ambient temperatures with easily obtainable materials and with low expenditure of energy. In contrast, human methods usually require extensive energy input, high temperatures and/or pressures, and environmentally damaging chemicals.BN/Marie-Eve Aubin-Tam La
