No full textQuesto volume è un piccolo omaggio per Adriano Prosperi in occasione del suo ottantesimo compleanno; un segno di affetto e di gratitudine per il suo insegnamento da parte di allievi e colleghi che con lui si sono confrontati e da lui hanno imparato. Come Prosperi ha messo in evidenza in diverse occasioni, la ricerca delle origini (concentrarsi sulla ghianda invece che sulla quercia, avrebbe detto Marc Bloch) è un seme da cui nella storia sono germogliate facilmente l’intolleranza, la manipolazione e l’incomprensione del passato.
I saggi riuniti in questo libro nascono da questa consapevolezza, sono legati da fili comuni e scaturiscono dall’analisi di una fonte. No full textIn the light of recent narratives focusing on the De rerum natura as the jurisdiction
and fodder of essentially only heretics and atheists, in this paper I reassess
the impact of the Catholic Church and its clergy on the circulation of Lucretius in
Italy, especially after the Reformation and the Council of Trent. In the first part, I
examine the approach to the De rerum natura of several leading Catholic prelates,
who not only read and appreciated Lucretius, but were crucial to his survival and
dissemination in Italian culture. In the second part, I investigate the presence of the
De rerum natura in the homiletic literature of post-Tridentine Italy: Lucretius features
in these texts as a non-problematic, authoritative source, one with the added
bonus of deeply-held and recognized moral principles. Finally, in the third part,
I show how the various reworkings of the De rerum natura’s ii proem reveal the
depth of the poem’s integration even in the Catholic, confessional discourse

OVERVIEW
Six hundred years after Poggio’s retrieval of the De rerum natura, and with the recent surge of interest in Lucretius and his influence, there has never been a better time to fully assess and recognize the shaping force of his thought and poetry over European culture from antiquity to modern times. This volume offers a multidisciplinary and updated overview of Lucretius as philosopher and as poet, with special attention to how these two aspects interact. The volume includes 18 contributions by established as well as early career scholars working on Lucretius’ philosophical and poetic work, and his reception both in ancient and early modern times. All the chapters present new and original research. Section I explores core issues of Epicurean-Lucretian epistemology and ethics. Section II expounds much new material on ancient response to and reception of Lucretius. Section III presents new material and analysis on the immediate, fraught early modern reception of the poem. Section IV offers a wide collection of new and original papers on Lucretius’ fortunes in the period from Machiavelli up to Victorian times. Section V explores little known aspects of the iconographical and biographical motifs related to the De rerum natura

Filesharing e investimento emotivo: il ruolo dei siti di indicizzazione nelle forme di distribuzione illegale
No full textGran parte dello streaming e del download online sfrutta servizi basati sul principio di indicizzazione, ovvero sul collezionamento di link che rimandano, in modalità più o meno organizzate, a un contenuto audiovisivo protetto da copyright. Ne è un esempio il filesharing attraverso cyberlocker, servizi «che offrono agli utenti l'abilità di scaricare file attraverso server centralizzati, senza appoggiarsi su infrastrutture p2p sottostanti» (Antoniades, Markatos, Dovrolis, 2009). La particolarità di questi servizi risiede nella loro capacità di mettere in gioco gli stessi utenti, sia per il loro funzionamento che per la necessità di creare indexing site: siti di indicizzazione che forniscono database organizzati di link rimandanti al contenuto inserito in uno di questi servizi.
L’intervento si focalizzerà sulla creazione e la funzione delle comunità di utenti che circolano – nella maggior parte come destinatari, in minor misura come fornitori – attorno ai siti di indicizzazione, rendendo così effettivo il filesharing stesso. L’intervento si propone di considerare l’efficienza di questa forma di distribuzione – a prescindere dalla sua illegalità – sulla base non tanto, e non solo, delle possibilità remunerative che questi servizi permettono ai gestori del sito, ma anche e soprattutto sull’investimento emotivo che coinvolge i singoli utenti e che garantisce una sociale legittimazione (Schwarz, Larsson, 2014) del sistema di distribuzione.
Un coinvolgimento che, sia come forma di contrasto alla pirateria che come riconoscimento non dichiarato della sua efficienza, sta rimodulando le forme di distribuzione ufficiali online, sempre più interessate agli aspetti singolari, soggettivi ed emozionali dei consumatori loro destinatari
