No full text[[abstract]]The thesis deals with the ‘lian…dou/ye …’ construction in modern Chinese. In order to clarify the informational status of ‘lian…’, issues on topic and focus are shown in the first part of this thesis. Then, discussions on semantic functions and conversational implicatures of this construction constitute the sencond part. Lastly, the formal complexity and pedagogical instructions will be presented as well.
On Ma Lian-yuan's 馬聯元 "Sharh al-latā'if"
No full textMa Lian-yuan (1841-1903) is well-known as one of the leading spiritual leaders (ulema) in Yunnan province in the end of the Qing Dynasty. He is famous for his great contribution to the reconstruction of the Muslim community in Yunnan province which was disastrously devastated after the unsuccessful Yunnan Muslim rebellion against the Qing Dynasty. Ma Lian-yuan's Muslim name is Nur al-Haqq which signifies in Arabic "light of the God". As a Muslim scholar, he wrote many works in Arabic as well as in Persian. He also translated Chinese classics about the Muslim in China into Arabic, and Arabic literature into Classical Chinese. His Xingli weiyan 性理微言 is an Arabic translation of Liu zhi 劉智's Tianfang xingli 天方性理. The book Xingli weiyan contains the original text in Classical Chinese and its phrase translation into Arabic, each phrase being juxtaposed. Xingli weiyan's Arabic title is‘Lata'if. Ma Lian-yuan wrote a detailed Arabic commentary on this Lata'if. This Arabic commentary is entitled 'Sharh at-Lata'if' in Arabic, and 'Tianfang xingli awen zhujie' 天方性理阿文注解 in Chinese. This book was at first printed in Kanpur in India, where Ma Lian-yuan died. In this paper, the theory of Unity of Being as well as that of Unity of Love which are found in Ma Lian-yuan's Sharh al-Lata'if, or Tianfang xingli awen zhujie are analyzed. Furthermore, the author also discusses Liu Zhi's philosophy, exactly the Chinese version of the theory of Unity of Being on which Ma Lian-yuan's philosophic view of the world was built
Build, Bust and Rebuild: Micropolitan Transportation in Wooster, Ohio
No full textThe preceding research pertains to transportation as experienced in micropolitan areas. Micropolitan areas are a designation that is under researched. This is done by way of triangulation of qualitative data surrounding the provision of transportation in the city of Wooster, Ohio. Special attention is given to the role of nonprofits, with Wooster’s case including the nonprofit Community Action of Wayne/Medina. Data is collected via online archives, current webpages, and data provided in the Wooster public library. It was found that the city of Wooster experiences a “build, bust, and rebuild” style of transportation provision, swinging from private contracting to public acquisition. This characterizes micropolitan areas as lacking a formal agency to aid in coordinating service

No full textThe bachelor thesis focuses on the novella Love in Brocade Valley (Jinxiugu zhi lian 锦绣谷 之恋, 1987) by Chinese writer Wang Anyi 王安忆 (born 1954). The thesis discusses the literary movements after the Cultural Revolution, including a short account of women's literature of that period. The thesis also introduces the author with an overview of her major works, focusing primarily on three novellas commonly referred to as "Three Loves" (san lian 三恋). The main objective of the thesis is to provide a thorough analysis of the novella and examine the role of the narrator, depiction of characters and the portrayal of space and time in the narrative. Considering all these aspects of the narrative, the thesis also aims to consider the narrative devices that the novella employs to convey the subjective image of the protagonist's experience

The Research on the Current Situation of Inheritance of the Folk Dancing “Gun Long Lian Xiang” From the Perspective of “Intangible Cultural Heritage”
No full text“Gun Long Lian Xiang” is a popular kind of dancing in Enshi, Hubei. In recent years, the local government in Enshi has taken amounts of measures on promoting the protection, inheritance and development of this “intangible cultural heritage” program. In order to have a better understanding on the current situation of the inheritance of “Gun Long Lian Xiang”, the measures of in-depth interview and field survey are taken in this thesis. The author has made an interview with the “Gun Long Lian Xiang” inheritors of two generations, local people and staff in Cultural Center and Style Bureau and also collected a lot of materials in the form of video and literal data to make analysis. According to the research, “Gun Long Lian Xiang” has a sound dissemination effect in Enshi. It has become a way with the square dancing as the main carrier, which much enriched local people’s life. But meanwhile, there still exist some problems on the inheritance of “Gun Long Lian Xiang”, such as poor education for inheritors, tough living condition for folk artists, incomplete protection system and so on. Based on it, this thesis puts forward with some constructive suggestions

韩偓《香奁集》里的忠君情感 = Patriotic sentiments in Han Wo‘s “Xiang Lian Ji”
No full text韩偓《香奁集》是一部艳情诗歌集，在当时的封建社会中找不到应有的地位，并受排挤。许多学者甚至为了维护韩偓“一代忠臣”的身份，想方设法考证《香奁集》非韩偓所作，但屡战屡败。有些学者却认为晚唐文化风流薮泽，韩偓也腐朽其中，但无实证。清代学者震钧认为《香奁集》别有寄托，可见其忠君爱国，把韩偓比作屈原；将《香奁集》比作《离骚》、《九歌》。这种想法却遭后人质疑，认为震钧的论点牵强。笔者认为震钧的观点不无道理，《香奁集》确实有忠君爱国之情，并非无中生有，解读中体味其意，认同震钧之见，并在此篇论文加以发扬与诠释。笔者将梳理韩偓的忠君表现，并通过细读韩偓的香奁诗篇以及学者的相关论文，结合晚唐五代的语境，研究并统计韩偓的修辞手法与整体的情感基调，最后将其诗篇作了具体的分析与解读。Han Wo's "Xiang Lian Ji" is a collection of Erotic poetries. In the feudal society, there is absolutely no room to accommodate romantic poetry and is subjected to exclusion. Many researchers have tried to protect his identity as a loyal officials by trying to find evidences to justify that he did not author "Xiang Lian Ji", but did not succeed. Some researchers think that Han Wo has immersed into the Late Tangs' culture of visiting brothels, however there was not any evidence to support. Qing researcher, Zhen Jun commented that Han Wo wrote "Xiang Lian Ji" to entrust his loyalty for his country and emperor, and further compared Han Wo to Qu Yuan, "Xiang Lian Ji" to "Li Sao" and "Jiu Ge", this was later met with revolts from many researchers. The author agrees with Zhen Jun’s view and has written this thesis to further elaborate on this thinking. First, the author will consolidate his patriotic evidences and with in depth reading of Han Wo’s poetries and related journals and articles of Han Wo, further enhanced by contextualizing Han Wo’s poetries along with the context of late Tang and Five dynasties, elaborates and analyses the rhetorical and emotions frequently appeared in Han Wo's poems, lastly specific analysis and interpretation of Han Wo's "Xiang Lian" poems.Bachelor of Art
