The contribution proposes a historical-linguistic reading of the Saggio di gramatica sul dialetto sardo meridionale, published in 1811 by the Stamperia Reale in Cagliari by the priest Vincenzo Raimondo Porru (1773-1836), a teacher of «latinity» in the schools of Cagliari, and author, a few decades later, of the more famous Nou dizionariu universali sardu-italianu (1832-1834). In his normative instruments Porru promotes modern Campidanese, of lively use, and of elevated register, within the broader movement of revaluation of the «national language», and of strengthening the latter through cultured and literary uses. At the same time, the grammar is expressly compiled «for the benefit of studious youth», and supported by the didactic-empirical principle according to which Sardinian constitutes a complementary tool to the teaching and learning of Italian. In this perspective, Porru’s compendium is among the functional tools for the process of diffusion of the new language on the island to the detriment of the Iberian varieties and local dialects, which began with the annexation of Sardinia to the Savoy state. The analysis of the grammar, conducted transversally on some specific aspects (setting/structure; dependence/autonomy with respect to Latin; relationship with grammatical auctoritates; teaching method and linguistic variety), privileges the sections relating to the teaching of Tuscan, framing Porru’s positions within contemporary grammaticography, and restoring the Villanovese priest’s fine linguistic sensitivity and strong didactic vocation

The topic of health and safety of health care workers exposed to biological agents appears as a relevant issue for the occupational physician, within a multidisciplinary context, while taking into account technical and scientific evolution, ethics, and principles of Occupational Health, current legislation. Through description of methods and results of a large multicentre study, good medical practices are proposed within the various areas of competence in occupational health, in particular for a few priority topics, such as blood borne or airborne diseases, fitness for work and danger to third parties, epidemiologic, clinical and medico-legal aspects

Problems for elliptic singular equations with a quadratic gradient term

    No full text
We investigate the homogeneous Dirichlet problem for a class of second-order elliptic partial differential equations with a quadratic gradient term and singular data, arising for instance in the theory of non-Newtonian fluids of type Callegari-Nachman and also of heat conduction in electrically conducting materials of type Cohen-Keller. In particular, we study the asymptotic behavior of the solution near the boundary under suitable assumptions on the growth of the coefficients of the equation

Boundary behaviour for solutions of boundary blow-up problems in a borderline case

We investigate boundary blow-up solutions of the equation \Delta u = f (u) in a bounded domain Ω ⊂ R^N under the condition that f (t) has a relatively slow growth as t goes to infinity. We show how the mean curvature of the boundary ∂Ω appears in the asymptotic expansion of the solution u(x) in terms of the distance of x from ∂Ω
