David Audretsch: A Source of Inspiration, a Co-author, and a Friend
In this chapter, Enrico Santarelli discusses the profound impact that David had on his career. Beginning with a conference in Budapest, Santarelli and David bocame close friends and colleagues. They went on to collaborate on many papers and projects, several of which Santarelli highlights below
Dialogo con Enrico Palandri
A conversation with Enrico Palandri aimed at contextualizing his work as an author
Difficile fotografare un’idea”.In addition to having chronicled art and artists of the second half of the 20th century by documenting fifty years of exhibitions, art research, and major public events in Italy, Enrico Cattaneo (Milan, 1933–2019) developed a highly personal visual investigation on the modes, languages, and materials of photography.
These two facets of his activity, indissolubly linked like the two sides of a coin, are recomposed in the overall profile of an author capable of questioning the technical and conceptual foundations of photography.
As he himself has written: ‘The contemporary work of art is often made up of a tangible thing and an idea ... It is difficult to capture an idea on film.

Since 1999, the date he announced his intention to write a cycle of plays based on the works of the Marquis de Sade, Enrico Frattaroli has created five works in this ensemble that bears the title The Sade convivium. In the document he has prepared for L’Annuaire théâtral, he explains his unique approach whereby he uses the works of Sade as a creative material rather than attempting to produce the plays or the novels of the French author
Una mirada desde la memoria a dos experiencias de teatros políticos locales. : En torno de los escritos dramáticos libertarios de Enrico Giulio
After considering the political background of Argentina during the three first decades of the xxth century, the author analyzes a very interesting example of anarchist theatre: Falsas promesas, one of the dramatic texts of Enrico Giulio, ceramist worker and libertarian poet.
The Schreber case: the discret charm of the paranoic solution
The author revisits Schreber’s Case considering the scientific and historical back ground context and expecially the development of the first group of Freud’s followers. The concept of inconscious homosexuality is examinated and compared to rejection of feminine. Moreover delirium is considered an attempt at making self-containing. In conclusion, the author suggests some considerations about the connection between paranoic functioning and psychoanalytical group functioning

Teachers’ attitudes: learner’s errors and standard norms.
The aim of this chapter is to focus on the pedagogical implications of English as a Lingua Franca (ELF) as regards the reconceptualization of learners’ deviations from native-speaker standard norms, traditionally referred to as errors. The author provides a preliminary historical overview of approaches to English language teaching (ELT) to highlight the evolution of psycholinguistic notions in the area of cognitive processes and second language acquisition. The phenomenon of language variation is seen through the lens of Vygotsky’s (1978) sociocultural theory, which leads to a different understanding of the learner’s personal voice and of their identity in multicultural global communication. Finally, the author presents some of the results of a teacher’s survey on the attitudes of a group of Italian teachers of English about the emergence of ELF in the English classroom
NAMPT inhibition impairs mTOR-dependent regulation of translation in melanomaNAMPT inhibition impairs mTOR-dependent regulation of translation in melanoma.
The frequent emergence of drug resistance in melanoma remains a challenge. This phenomenon relies on the
rewiring of multiple processes, including cancer metabolism, epigenetics, translation process, and
interactions with the tumor microenvironment that are only partially understood. Activation of NAD
metabolism through its rate-limiting biosynthetic enzyme nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (NAMPT)
has been identified as key driver of targeted therapy resistance and melanoma progression. Another major
player in this context is the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway, which plays key roles in the
regulation of melanoma cell anabolic functions, energy metabolism and protein translation. An interplay
between NAD/NAMPT and mTOR signaling axes in regulating translation was revealed some years ago in a
leukemic model, however no further studies fully addressed this functional connection.
We showed that NAMPT inhibitors (FK866, OT-82) induce a translational arrest in BRAF-mutated human
melanoma cell lines sensitive and resistant to BRAF inhibitors. The molecular mechanism involved the
activation of 5' AMP-activated protein kinase or (AMPK), the inhibition of mTOR/4EPB1 and an increased
phosphorylation of the initiation factor EIF2A. All these events lead to protein synthesis arrest, measured
directly using Click-it chemistry based on the incorporation of an aminoacid analog (AHA).
Analysis using TCGA database confirmed the correlation between NAMPT and mTOR pathways/translation.
In addition, we performed NAMPT immunoprecipitation following mass-spectrometry in cellular extract to
identify NAMPT-interacting proteins. Data showed major enrichment of NAMPT-interacting proteins
involved in RNA processing, translation, nuclear protein and metabolic processes. The interaction between
NAMPT and initiation/elongation factors will be further investigated, however these data suggest potential a
direct impact of NAD/NAMPT axis in translational reprogramming in melanoma
