Автор статті доходить висновку, що П.Скоропадський має бути залучений до кола «батьків-засновників» УАН.The author is trying to find out which role hetman Pavlo Skoropads’kyi performed in the case of foundation of Ukrainian Academy of Sciences and the causes that led to diminishing of the part of Ukrainian state’s head in «academic process». The article analyzes Pavlo Skoropads’kyi’s self-assessment, Mykola Vasylenko’s and Volodymyr Vernads’kyi’s invectives as to his role in foundation of UAS, and official documents and public acts of 1918. The author of the article comes to the conclusion that P.Skoropads’kyi has to be enlisted to the circle of founders of UAS
Analytical Review of the Biobibliography of Pavlo Zahrebelnyi
No full textThe purpose of the article is to conduct a critical study of the bibliography of Pavlo Zahrebelnyi in the indexes contained in the collection of V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine (herein after referred to as VNLU) and available in the Internet environment, to analyze the selected bibliographic indexesusing modern methodological developments; to evaluate and provide evidence of their scientific, informational, and cultural and historical value. Methodology. The study used survey-bibliographic, analytical-critical, historical, and comparative scientific methods. Scientific novelty. For the first time, a study of the bibliography, divided into many editions in the form of indexes, was carried out; the artistic and literary orientation of Pavlo Zahrebelnyi’s works was taken into account using new theoretical and methodological principles. The article meets the current tasks of modern bibliographic studies. Conclusions. The works by Pavlo Zahrebelnyi are known outside Ukraine, have been translated into many languages of the world, and have been repeatedly filmed. Not all of them have become outstanding artistic achievements of Ukrainian prose, but all of them have been actively perceived by readers, discussed by critics, and in one way or another influenced the development of the modern literary process. The critical analysis of the indexes logically led the author of the article to the opinion that the compilation of acomplete consolidated bibliographic index is still waiting for its author. The publication of the writer’s private diaries is still ahead, and there is information on the Internet about holding scientific conferences dedicated to the work of Pavlo Zahrebelnyi and, as a result, the publication of articles in periodicals and collections

Pavlo Galagan, as a personality, who is the last direct descendant of the Cossack Hetman origin who acquired
high social status at the beginning of the 18th century, remains only as a “memorial name”. Grygoriy Galagan
and Catherine Galagan (Kochubey), his parents, to commemorate his son after his premature death, often
mention him in the context of the university foundation. The author creates a “biographical portrait”
of Pavlo Galagan and interprets information about the socio-cultural life of the Galagan family, describes
the attitude of the representatives of Ukrainian elite of the 19th century to the problems of education, religion,
Ukrainian identity etc.
The article describes Pavlo Galagan’s social life in the context of the environment based on the interpretation
of the content sources of personal origin (memoirs, diaries, letters, etc.) created by him and people close to
him. The main focus is devoted to memories of Pavlo Galagan’s father and mother created for the College
“Yearbook” of P. Galagan, published by A. Stepovych in 1896, correspondence, in particular a pile of letters from
father to his son dated the fi rst half of 1860s, travel notes and P. Galagan’s diary, created upon the impressions
from the fi rst trip abroad in 1866.
The author emphasizes that Pavlo Galagan origin and ideological priorities are formed, on the one hand, upon
well-established traditions of training of young elite, on the other hand, according to the liberal-democratic
beliefs and “Ukrainophile” preferences of his parents

No full textПредметом дослідження у статті є особливості теоретико-літературних і мистецтвознавчих публікацій визначного українського поета Павла Мовчана, а також його історико-літературних та історико-мистецьких праць. Основною проблемою статті стала потреба звести ці особливості в єдину концепцію і визначити її наукову основу. Для цього було зібрано з різноманітних джерел і опрацьовано значний масив (більше п’ятдесяти) статей, рецензій, есеїв поета-дослідника за період від середини 1970‑х років до другого десятиліття ХХІ століття. Творчість поета не має належного опрацювання з боку науковців, а його теоретико-літературний та історико-літературний доробок залишився поза їхньою увагою, крім хіба що побіжних спостережень О. Хоменка в одному з досліджень поезії П. Мовчана. Метою статті є висвітлення системного характеру літературознавчих поглядів Павла Мовчана й застосування їх до аналізу творчості класиків і сучасних українських та зарубіжних митців. Для цього використовувалися психологічний метод у визначенні словесно-образної сутності Мовчанової теоретичної концепції, історико-літературний — в аналізі його рецензій і «портретних» публікацій, міфопоетичний — у концептуалізації усного і писемного слова, художнього слова як єднальної ланки між поколіннями, автором і реципієнтами.
Підсумком дослідження стали такі результати. 1. Умовно літературознавчі та літературно-критичні дослідження Павла Мовчана можна розділити на кілька блоків: теорії слова, образу, образотворчості; специфіки лірики, художнього перекладу; розвитку української поезії другої половини ХХ–ХХІ століть; аналізу творів української класики («Слова о полку Ігоревім…», творчості Т. Шевченка, М. Гоголя, поетів-романтиків та ін.), поетів-сучасників; оцінку доробку зарубіжних літераторів Заходу і Сходу; рецепцію живописного і кінематографічного доробку українських митців-сучасників. 2. Основою теоретико-літературної концепції П. Мовчана було вчення О. Потебні про зовнішню і внутрішню форму слова та його зміст, про постійну потребу відновлювати чи створювати конкретно-чуттєві значення слова-образу в художній творчості. Широкий спектр значень слова, накопичений протягом століть, є основою діалогу між автором і реципієнтами, єднальною ланкою між ними. Рівень майстерності митця пов’язаний з умінням віднайти і відродити цей широкий значеннєвий спектр. 3. Павло Мовчан уважає основним завданням художнього перекладу не просто адекватне механічне передавання змісту слів, а відтворення духу слів, твору, неповторності ідіостилю споріднених за творчими інтенціями авторів, для чого перекладач має ґрунтовно вивчити біографію і доробок автора оригіналу, літературний і суспільний контекст, історію написання твору, значення й відтінки кожного слова, чудово володіти рідною мовою і специфікою мови оригіналу, менталітет народу, до якого належить автор, та багато іншого, аж до флори і фауни, їх символіки тощо. 4. Такі самі принципи і вимоги П. Мовчан ставить перед собою як перед літературним критиком і літературознавцем у дослідженнях конкретних творів чи творчості певних авторів. Це дає йому можливість не лише всебічно і глибоко схарактеризувати творчий доробок різних авторів, а й визначити його домінантні риси, зробити власні оригінальні та аргументовані відкриття. 5. Мистецтвознавчі погляди П. Мовчана у сфері візуальних мистецтв органічно корелюють із його літературознавчою концепцією, свідчать про глибоке знання цієї сфери і тонке естетичне відчуття в оцінці творів живопису і кінематографу.
Практичне значення статті полягає в можливості її застосування при вивченні та викладанні теорії літератури і теорії мистецтва, основ потебнянської теорії, історії класичної й сучасної української та зарубіжної літератур, історії українського живопису й кінематографу ХХ–ХХІ століть, неповторності творчості самого Павла Мовчана.The subject of the research in the article is the peculiarities of theoretical-literary and art-scientific publications of the outstanding Ukrainian poet Pavlo Movchan, as well as his histori-cal-literary and historical-artistic works. The main problem of the article was the need to reduce these features into a single concept, to determine the scientific basis of this concept. To do this, a large array of (more than fifty) articles, reviews, and essays of the research poet for the period from the mid-1970s to the second decade of the XXIcentury was collected from various sources and processed. The poet’s work has not been properly studied by scholars, and his theoretical-literary and historical-literary works have gone out of their attention if we do not take into ac-count the cursory observations of O.Khomenko in one of the studies of poetry by P.Movchan. The aim of the article is to highlight the systemicnature of Pavlo Movchan’s literary views and apply them to the analysis of the works of classics and contemporary Ukrainian and foreign art-ists. To do this, we used the psychological method in determining the verbal and figurative es-sence of Movchan’s theoretical concept, historical and literary —in the analysis of his reviews and “portrait” publications, mythopoetic —in conceptualizing the oral and written word, the ar-tistic word as a link between generations, author and recipients.The results of the research are 1.Conditionally literary and literary-critical research of Pavlo Movchan can be divided into several blocks: the theory of words, images, art; specifics of lyrics, literary translation; development of Ukrainian poetry in the second half of theXX–XXIcenturies; analysis of works of Ukrainian classics (“A Word about Igor’s Regiment”, works by T.Shev-chenko, M.Gogol, romantic poets, etc.), contemporary poets; evaluation of the works of foreign writers of the West and the East; reception of paintings and cinematographic works of Ukrainian contemporary artists. 2.The basis of the theoretical and literary concept of P.Movchan was the theory of O.Potebnja about the external and internal form of the word and its content, the con-stant need to restore or create specific sensory meaning of the word-image in art. The wide range of meanings of the word, accumulated over the centuries, is the basis of dialogue between the author and the recipients, the link between them. The artist’s skill level is interrelated with the ability to find and revive this wide range of meaning. 3.Pavlo Movchan considers the main task of literary translation to not just be an adequate mechanical transmission of words, buta reproduction of the spirit of words, works, and uniqueness of idiosyncrasies related to the creative intentions of authors, for which the translator must thoroughly study the biography and works of the original, literary and social context, the history of writing the work, the meaning and nuances of each word, excellent command of the native language and the specifics of the original language, the mentality of the people to which the author belongs and much more, up to flora and fauna, their symbols and more. 4.Pavlo Movchan sets the same principles and re-quirements as a literary critic in the study of specific works or works of certain authors. This gives him the opportunity not only to comprehensively and deeply characterize the creative work of various authors but also to dominant features, to make their own original and reasoned discoveries. 5.Pavlo Movchan’s art views in the field of visual arts are organically correlated with his literary concept, testify to a deep knowledge of this field and a subtle aesthetic sense in the evaluation of works of painting and cinema.The practical significance of the article lies in the possibility of its application in the study and teaching of literary theory and art theory, the basics of Potebnja theory, history of classical and modern Ukrainian and foreign literature, history of Ukrainian painting, and cinema of XX–XXIcenturies, the uniqueness of Pavlo Movchan
