No full text
In the paper, the electromagnetic compatibility of a frequency converter with a power supply is investigated. Comparison of the variants of the electric drive with conventional capacitors and supercapacitors, which are connected directly to the DC link of the frequency converter, is given. The simulation results in the MATLAB package and the experimental study of the electric drive with using the power quality analyzer are presented. The paper presents the forms of currents and voltages at the input of the frequency converter, as well as their harmonics composition. Conclusions about the influence of the supercapacitor block on the electromagnetic compatibility of electric drive to the mains are made. © 2018 I.V. Plotnikov and I.S. Uimin.17-08-00188I. V. Efficiency of oil companies in Russia in the context of energy and sustainable development

No full text
The transformation of the energy market and the development of its technologies radically change the industry and uncover new segments for competition. Scientific and technological progress is gradually changing the market structure and replacing petroleum products with other energy sources, creating new consumption sectors. However, the oil and gas industry still plays a major role in the energy and fuel balance of the world (almost 60% of global energy consumption is concentrated in the oil and gas sector). Due to the specifics of the petroleum sector, the companies tend to be large and have a significant direct and indirect influence on the oil industry as a whole. In this article, the authors of the study compared Russian and international companies in the oil and gas sector and identified the distinctive features of each group. To reveal the main factors influencing financial performance, we construct models of the dependence of net profit on various macroeconomic, microeconomic, institutional, and additional factors. The basic panel data model is tested, taking into account fixed and random individual effects. Results show that the profit of each major oil and gas company is affected by revenue, production costs, and tax deductions. The key interest rate set by the Central Bank of Russia is also important for the activities of oil and gas companies. A distinctive factor for petroleum corporations is the negative impact of financial leverage on the profits of domestic companies and the negative impact of investment in the environmental area for foreign companies. According to our forecasts, the total profit of the eight largest oil producers in Russia will decrease by 60% in 2020. Such forecasts are not very encouraging, but due to the current market situation, they are not surprising. © 2020 The Author

Plotnikov, English Language Teacher, Lyceum No. 12, Post-graduate Student, Ural State Pedagogical University (Ekaterinburg), [email protected]В статье рассматривается проблема стратегий перевода поэтического текста и их взаимосвязи с когнитивными установками переводчика и автора-переводчика. The article deals with the problem of translation strategies for poetic text and their interrelation to the cognitive aims of the translator and the author-translator. The purpose of the study is to identify cognitive attitudes and translation strategies when working on English-language texts of Joseph Brodsky's poetic cycle "Part of Speech". The research data is the translation of the cycle by the American writer D. Weisbort, and the author's translation of the literary work. The research methodology is based on the theory of metaphorical modeling, discourse analysis of the language and other methods. Translation strategies and cognitive attitudes of the translators are analyzed through transformations of metaphorical models revealed in the translated texts of Joseph Brodsky's poetic cycle "Part of Speech". The analysis of metaphorical transformations showed that D. Weisbort tends to adequately reconstruct the cognitive system of the author, to maximally preserve images modeling the author's cognitive system in the text of translation. Joseph Brodsky has a different cognitive aim, since the translation of his text is, from a cognitive point of view, secondary for him. The change of the cognitive attitude when working on self-translation is related with the use of the formal poetic translation strategy. The reconstruction of the author's cognitive system in the translation of the American writer is connected with the use of the verbal strategy of poetic translation. From a formal point of view, Daniel Weisbort’s translation is less precise than the author-translator's text

What happened in Russia in January-February 1730? It is absolutely clear that neither for the readers nor for the authors is the issue simply one of reconstructing the course of events. The attempt by a group of imperial dignitaries to establish a limited monarchical regime during the interregnum; the difficult and in many ways enforced dialogue between the verkhovniki (the members of the Supreme Privy Council) and the shljakhetstvo (the nobility); the short but extraordinarily strong outburs..

Expanding the Applicability of the Competitive Modes Conjecture

No full text
The Competitive Modes Conjecture is a relatively new approach in the field of Dynamical Systems, aiming to understand chaos in strange attractors using Resonance Theory. Up till now, the Conjecture has only been used to study multipolynomial systems because of their simplicity. As such, the study of non-multipolynomial systems is sparse, filled with ambiguity, and lacks mathematical structure. This paper strives to rectify this dilemma, providing the mathematical background needed to rigorously apply the Competitive Modes Conjecture to a certain set of non-multipolynomial systems. Afterwards, we provide an example of this new theory in the non-multipolynomial Wimol-Banlue Attractor, something that up to this point has not been possible as far as the authors know.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository ‘You share, we take care!’ – Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Numerical Analysi

Hemodynamic effects of atropine and glycopyrrolate in isoflurane-xylazine-anesthetized dogs

No full text
The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare the haemodynamic changes caused by the administration of i.v. atropine or glycopyrrolate after i.v. xylazine in isoflurane-anaesthetized dogs. Six healthy Beagles (8.2 to 10.7 kg) were used in 2 trials separated by 7 days. Anaesthesia was induced and maintained with isoflurane in 100% oxygen with controlled ventilation. Once constant end-tidal isoflurane (1.8%) and arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide (35 to 45 mm Hg) values were reached, baseline data were recorded and xylazine (0.5 mg/kg, i.v.) was given. In trial 1 atropine (0.1 mg/kg, i.v.) was given 5 min after xylazine, and in trial 2 glycopyrrolate (0.025, mg/kg, i.v.), was given 5 min after xylazine. Haemodynamic variables were recorded 3 min after xylazine and 3 min after anticholinergic administration. In trial 2, bilateral vagotomies were performed 10 min after glycopyrrolate, and haemodynamic variables were recorded 3 min later. Heart rate, cardiac index, and stroke index decreased; arterial pressure and systemic vascular resistance increased after xylazine. Heart rate, cardiac index, and rate pressure product increased after anticholinergic administration. Significant differences between atropine and glycopyrrolate were not observed in any of the haemodynamic parameters. Similarly, significant differences between glycopyrrolate and bilateral vagotomy were not observed. The authors conclude that i.v. atropine and glycopyrrolate have equivalent haemodynamic actions during the increased pressure phase after i.v. xylazine in isoflurane-anaesthetized dogs; that i.v. atropine and glycopyrrolate produce comparable increases in heart rate and that both may increase the risk of myocardial hypoxia associated with an increase in rate pressure product; and that vagal blockade produced by high-dose glycopyrrolate (0.025 mg/kg, i.v.) is similar to that produced by bilateral vagotomy..RE: 20 ref.; RN: 51-55-8; 55-48-1; 26675-46-7; 7361-61-7; SC: CA; ZA; VE; 0I; 0V; 6VSource type: Electronic(1) http://upei-resolver.asin-risa.ca?sid=SP:CABI&id=pmid:&id=&issn=0161-3499&isbn=&volume=22&issue=2&spage=163&pages=163-169&date=1993&title=Veterinary%20Surgery&atitle=Hemodynamic%20effects%20of%20atropine%20and%20glycopyrrolate%20in%20isoflurane-xylazine-anesthetized%20dogs.&aulast=Lemke&pid=%3Cauthor%3ELemke%2c%20K%20A%3bTranquilli%2c%20W%20J%3bThurmon%2c%20J%20C%3bBenson%2c%20G%20J%3bOlson%2c%20W%20A%3C%2Fauthor%3E%3CAN%3E19932283834%3C%2FAN%3E%3CDT%3EJournal%20article%3C%2FDT%3

No full text
Nomenclatural standards of three raspberry (Rubus idaeus L.) cultivars ‘Kleopatra’ (WIR-98480), ‘Sulamif’’ (WIR-98517) and ‘Shakhrazada’ (WIR-98536) bred at the I.V. Michurin Federal Scientific Center (FSC) were prepared according to the International Code of Nomenclature for Cultivated Plants. The nomenclatural standards of these cultivars have been transferred to N.I. Vavilov Federal Research Center of the All-Russian Institute of Plant Genetic Resources (VIR) for storage in the Herbarium of Cultivated Plants of the World, Their Wild Relatives and Weeds (WIR). Plant material for herbarium specimens was collected in the experimental field of the I.V. Michurin FSC by the cultivars’ author and handed to VIR for genotyping as well as for preservation in the live collection of VIR in compliance with the comprehensive strategy for registering and preserving domestic cultivars of the vegetatively propagated crops in a genebank. Microsatellite profiles of the three cultivars in question were obtained by using six nuclear SSR-markers. The genotyped specimens of the same raspberry cultivars, genotypically identical to the nomenclatural standards, were transferred to the VIR field collection and preservation in controlled conditions in the VIR in vitro collection

Potential of Professional Thinking and Emotional Burnout in the Professions of Socionomic Type

No full text
The analysis of specific features of professional thinking and emotional exhaustion among teachers and doctors in the context of COVID-19 pandemic. The growing demand for practical social psychological support of members of “person to person” professions during the unstable epidemiological situation due to COVID-19 have preconditioned the consideration of emotional exhaustion in the terms of interconnection with professional thinking that is able to contribute new professional and personal meaning to the activity process, thus becoming the cognitive resource that balances the levels and components of emotional exhaustion. The method of content analysis and expert evaluation alongside with mathematical statistical methods, such as correlation method of Charles Spearman and Student’s t-distribution, were used. Participants: 55 people, the members of professions of socionomic type, 25 teachers and 30 doctors, length of time worked – 10-25 years, men – 30%, women – 70%. The methods of studying the specific features of emotional exhaustion (V.V. Boyko; Christina Maslach, S. Jackson, adapted by N.E. Vodopiyanova) and components of professional thinking (the author’s method of self-analysis of the problem situation by I.V. Serafimovich and M.M. Kashapov). It has been demonstrated that suprasituatedness of thinking is negatively correlated with emotional burnout, while situatedness is positively correlated with it. It has been specified that the emotional burnout is more pronounced in doctors. It has been identified that adequacy and sufficiency of analysis of a problem situation are positively associated with the self-esteem of professional success and self-satisfaction, whereas validity is associated with the capability to cope with psychologically destructive circumstances. Under the high efficiency of analysis emotional involvement reduces, and when increasing the depth of analysis emotional burnout enhances. The obtained results about the partial connection of components of professional thinking and signs of emotional exhaustion can be used as the arguments for the author’s position of the ability of usage of thinking as a cognitive resource for solving practical problems.</p

How sociology of emotions is possible, and how it helps to understand happiness and justice

No full text
The article is a reflection-review of the book by Scott R. Harris An Invitation to the Sociology of Emotions (translated from English by O.A. Simonova; Moscow: HSE; 2020). Certainly, such a type of scientific works does not need a review after publication, but this book requires special attention for sociology of emotions seems to be a marginal area of Russian sociology, at least in the institutional perspective. After a brief description of the origins and manifestations of the ‘affective turn’, the author considers its consequences for social sciences (recognition of the cultural nature of emotions, perception of ‘emotional standards’ in the course of socialization, etc.), and reconstructs the sociological model for the study of emotions as developed by Harris: reliance on symbolic interactionism and the social exchange theory, analysis of the normative aspect of emotions (cultural expectations about how one should feel in different situations, social standards for assessing the acceptability of emotions, etc.) and of the ‘procedural’ side of the emotional life (exchange of emotions, management of emotions, identification of emotions, and ‘emotional labor’). © I.V. On the Bolotin's reduced beam model versus various boundary conditions

No full text
This paper is devoted to the construction of asymptotically correct simplified models of nonlinear beam equations for various boundary conditions. V.V. Bolotin mentioned that in some cases (e.g., if compressed load is near the buckling value), the so-called „nonlinear inertia“ must be taken into account. The effect of nonlinear inertia on the oscillations of the clamped-free beam is investigated in many papers. Bolotin used some physical assumption and did not compare the order of nonlinear terms in original equations. Below we propose our method for deriving those, which we will named “Bolotin's equations“. This approach is based on fractional analysis of original boundary value problems.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository ‘You share, we take care!’ – Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Mathematical Physic
