Information systems evaluation in context–impact of the corporate level
The paper presents the results of a doctoral research related to Information Systems
evaluation in context. The authors propose changes in the context, the new level of contextual
analysis was added: the system context located between the internal and external context. The
system context reflects the fact that the case companies are business units and parts of the
corporations and IS evaluation is influenced by the corporation, Three levels of context
analysis can be used in case of IS evaluation in complex structures, such as corporations or
supply chain
Analysing B2B electronic procurement benefits – Information systems perspective
This paper presents electronic procurement benefits identified in four case companies. The
benefits achieved in the case companies were classified according to taxonomies from the
Information Systems discipline. Existing taxonomies were combined into a new taxonomy
which allows evaluation of the complex e-procurement impact. Traditional financial-based
methods failed to capture the nature of e-procurement benefits. In the new taxonomy, eprocurement
benefits are classified using scorecard dimensions (strategic, tactical and
operational), which allows the identification of areas of e-procurement impact, in addition
the benefits characteristic is captured (tangible, intangible, financial and non-financial)
Monitoring Performance
This book focuses on the need to develop sustainable supply chains - economically, environmentally and socially. This book is not about a wish list of impractical choices, but the reality of decisions faced by all those involved in supply chain management today. Our definition of sustainable supply chains is not restricted to so-called "green" supply chains, but recognises that in order to be truly sustainable, supply chains must operate within a realistic financial structure, as well as contribute value to our society. Supply chains are not sustainable unless they are realistically funded and valued. Thus, a real definition of sustainable supply chain management must take account of all relevant economic, social and environmental issues. This book contains examples from a wide range of real-life case studies, and synthesizes the learnings from these many different situations to provide the fundamental building blocks at the centre of successful logistics and supply chain management

Wojciech Ryszard Rzepka na tle poznańskiej tradycji językoznawstwa historycznego
The article is an attempt to establish the position of the scholarly achievements of Wojciech Ryszard Rzepka (almost exclusively in the field of the history of the Polish language) on the background of the scholarly activity of his predecessors. The author adopted the output of his teacher and scholarly master, Władysław Kuraszkiewicz, as the most important reference point. The author has examined more closely three currents in the research activity of Wojciech Rzepka: his lexical studies, his editorial and lexicographical output. Concluding the article, the author considered Rzepka most prominent historian of the Polish language in his generation – a researcher whose scholarly achievements are marked by originality and novelty as well as a harmonious combination of the dominating empiricism and understanding for the theory and methodology of historical linguistics
In-kind donations, cash transfers and local procurement in the logistics of caring for internally displaced persons
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to investigate humanitarian supply chains in the context of the Ukrainian crisis as example of complex emergency. The paper focuses on a selection of support modes: in-kind donations, cash-based assistance and local procurement.Design/methodology/approachThis paper adopts a case-study approach and interpretive paradigm. Findings are based on the analysis of primary sources including interviews with three Polish humanitarian organizations, internal documents, and secondary sources such as published reports.FindingsFindings indicate that in a middle-income urbanized country such as Ukraine non-standard modes such as cash transfer programs and local procurement can be employed, since the necessary infrastructure and market are operational. However, each mode has limitations, so they should match the local context and the needs of diverse social groups.Research limitations/implicationsThe findings and recommendations are specific to the case analyzed, Ukraine, and its socio-economic context. The research contributes to discussions about mode selection, stressing the links between mode, stage of the disaster response and local context.Practical implicationsApplying cash transfers and local procurement can reduce supply chain costs, such as transport and warehousing. Shortened supply chains enable faster responses and increased agility.Social implicationsCash transfers and procurement involve the local community and beneficiaries, and can better fulfill needs maintaining people’s dignity. However, for vulnerable groups and those in conflict zones, in-kind goods are a better option.Originality/valueThe author argues that the much-discussed dichotomy of cash or goods does not reflect reality; local and regional procurement should be added as important support modes in middle-income countries in crisis.</jats:sec
Wojciech Kosiński’s discovering the absolute in architecture
Architektura, będąc istotną częścią domeny sztuk plastycznych, ale równocześnie narzędziem kształtowania
przestrzeni jako dobra wspólnego, była zawsze rozumiana przez Wojciecha Kosińskiego jako emiter
idei − bytu duchowego, etosu doskonałości i piękna uniwersalnego. Autor, analizując główne myśli Wojciecha
Kosińskiego zapisane w jego publikacjach, interpretuje poszukiwanie, odkrywanie i defi niowanie
fenomenologicznego (ontologicznego) modelu absolutu opartego na roli świadomości w percepcji człowieka,
jego rzeczywistości przestrzennej w aspekcie naturalnym i kulturowym.Architecture, being an essential part of the domain of visual arts, but at the same time a tool for shaping
space as a common good, was always understood by Wojciech Kosiński as the emitter of the idea −
spiritual being, ethos of perfection and universal beauty. The author, analyzing the main ideas of Wojciech
Kosiński recorded in his publications, interprets the search, discovery and definition of a phenomenological
(ontological) model of the absolute based on the role of consciousness in human perception of its
spatial reality in a natural and cultural aspect
