Searching for Odderon in Central Exclusive Processes at the LHC

There seem to be recently an evidence for C=1C = -1 odderon exchange in proton-proton elastic scattering at high energies. Here we discuss three different central-exclusive-production processes pppp(ϕK+K)pp \to pp (\phi \to K^{+}K^{-}), pppp(ϕμ+μ)pp \to pp (\phi \to \mu^{+}\mu^{-}), and ppppϕϕppK+KK+Kpp \to pp \phi \phi \to pp K^{+}K^{-}K^{+}K^{-}, as a possible source of information for soft odderon exchange. The theoretical results are calculated within the tensor-pomeron and vector-odderon model for soft reactions. We include absorptive corrections at the amplitude level. To describe the low-energy data measured in the past by the WA102 collaboration we consider also subleading processes with reggeized vector-meson exchanges and reggeons. We discuss possible evidences for odderon exchange at the low energies and try to make predictions at the LHC

Exclusive reactions with light mesons: From low to high energies

In this Thesis, a theoretical analysis of exclusive production of mesons for various reactions in nucleon-nucleon collisions is presented. Detailed studies of the central exclusive production of the resonance states and the light dimeson pairs (π+π−, K+K−) within the Regge-based framework aswell as the exclusive production of forward neutral particles has been performed in a broad range of collision energy. Different aspects of production mechanism for the considered processes have been discussed, such as the model of soft pomeron, the absorption corrections, the off-shell effects of exchanged mesons. The cross section and many differential distributions were calculated and compared with existing experimental data wherever possible. Predictions for experiments at PANDA, RHIC, Tevatron and LHC energies have been presented. In addition, diffractive and electromagnetic production of the diboson pairs (γγ, W+W−, ZZ) at high energies has been considered in the framework of kt-factorization approach with the formalism of unintegrated gluon distribution functions. The production of technipions in dominant photonphoton channel as complementary possibility of search of particles beyond the Standard Modelat the LHC has been studied.28

Exclusive meson pair production in proton-proton collisions

We present a study of the exclusive production of meson pairs in the four-body pp → ppπ+π−, ppK+K− reactions at high energies which constitute an irreducible background to resonance states (e.g. ϕ, f2(1270), f0(1500), f'2(1525), Χc0). We consider central diffractive contribution mediated by Pomeron and Reggeon exchanges and new diffractive mechanism of emission of pions/kaons from the proton lines. We include absorption effects due to proton-proton interaction and pion/kaon rescattering. Predictions for the total cross section and differential distributions in pion/kaon rapidity and transverse momentum as well as two-pion/kaon invariant mass are presented for the RHIC, Tevatron and LHC colliders. Finally we consider a measurement of exclusive production of a scalar χc0 meson via χc0 → π+π−, K+K− decay
