No full textCet ouvrage vise à débattre de la manière dont la blancheur, en tant que structure idéologique, agit pour effacer et vider les contributions des Noirs à l’histoire du Brésil, rendant difficile la construction d’une conscience raciale noire critique. La recherche commence par la réalisation d'une étude critique de la période post-abolitionniste, sur la situation du sujet noir en tant qu'ancien esclave dans une société encore esclavagiste qui lui refuse le travail salarié, créant des discours idéologiques pour le marginaliser et le discriminer. Ensuite, une analyse est réalisée sur la blancheur en tant que structure servant à garantir les privilèges des blancs, qui utilise des mécanismes tels que la démocratie raciale et la méritocratie pour invalider le processus socio-historique et la pluralité culturelle brésiliens. Enfin, il sera discuté de la manière dont les sujets noirs soumis à ce discours idéologique de la blancheur acceptent les structures qui les poussent à nier leur ascendance et leur identité noires, entravant ainsi la formation d’une conscience raciale noire collective et critique.This work aims to debate how whiteness, as an ideological structure, acts to erase and empty black contributions to the history of Brazil, making it difficult to build a critical black racial consciousness. The research begins by carrying out a critical study of the post-abolition period, on the situation of the black subject as a former slave in a still slave-owning society that denies him wage labor, creating ideological discourses to marginalize and discriminate against him. Afterwards, an analysis is carried out of whiteness as a structure that serves to ensure the privileges of white people, which uses mechanisms such as racial democracy and meritocracy to invalidate the Brazilian socio-historical process and cultural plurality. Finally, it will be discussed how black subjects who are subjected to this ideological discourse of whiteness accept the structures that make them deny their black ancestry and identity, thus hindering the formation of a collective and critical black racial consciousness.Essa obra visa debater como a branquitude, enquanto estrutura ideológica, que atua para apagar e esvaziar as contribuições negras na história do Brasil, dificultando a construção de uma consciência racial negra crítica. A pesquisa se inicia realizando um estudo crítico da época pós-abolição, sobre a situação do sujeito negro como ex-escravizado em uma sociedade ainda escravagista que o nega o trabalho assalariado, criando discursos ideológicos para marginaliza-lo e discrimina-lo. Logo após, é realizada uma análise da branquitude como uma estrutura que serve para assegurar os privilégios dos brancos, que utiliza de mecanismos como a democracia racial e a meritocracia, para invalidar o processo socio-histórico brasileiro e a pluralidade cultural. Por fim, será debatido como os sujeitos negros que são submetidos a esse discurso ideológico da branquitude, aceita as estruturas que o fazem negar sua ancestralidade e identidade negra, assim dificultando a formação de uma consciência racial negra coletiva e critica.Este trabajo pretende debatir cómo la blanquitud, como estructura ideológica, actúa para borrar y vaciar las contribuciones negras a la historia de Brasil, dificultando la construcción de una conciencia racial negra crítica. La investigación comienza realizando un estudio crítico del período post-abolición, sobre la situación del sujeto negro como ex esclavo en una sociedad todavía esclavista que le niega el trabajo asalariado, creando discursos ideológicos para marginarlo y discriminarlo. Posteriormente, se realiza un análisis de la blanquitud como estructura que sirve para asegurar los privilegios de los blancos, que utiliza mecanismos como la democracia racial y la meritocracia para invalidar el proceso sociohistórico brasileño y la pluralidad cultural. Finalmente, se discutirá cómo los sujetos negros que están sujetos a este discurso ideológico de la blanquitud aceptan las estructuras que les hacen negar su ascendencia e identidad negras, obstaculizando así la formación de una conciencia racial negra colectiva y crítica
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
