Body length 3.5–4.0 mm, wing length 4.5–5.0 mm, length of antennae 0.8–0.9 mm. HEAD (Fig. 1A –С). Greyish brown; rostrum short, greyish brown, mouth parts yellow; palpi yellow, with 3 oval segments. Antenna yellowish brown. Scape short, widening distally, pedicel oval. Flagellum 9–10-segmented. Basal flagellar segments subcylindrical, more apical ones shorter, ovoid. Distal flagellomere (Fig. 1C) elongate, formed by fused 4–5 distal segments. Verticils short, yellow, approximately half as long as respective segments. Segments covered with short, yellow pubescence. THORAX (Fig. 1A–B). Dark brown with grey pruinose. Pronotum yellowish brown. Mesonotal prescutum dark brown with grey pruinose, longitudinal stripes broad, indistinct, prescutal pits black, tuberculate pits indistinct. Scutal lobes and scutellum same color as prescutum. Mediotergite brownish grey pruinose. Pleuron brownish grey. Meron not separated by a suture from katepimeron, both midleg and hindleg coxae widely separated. LEGS (Fig. 1E). Coxae and trochanters light brown, femora light brown, tibiae brown without spurs, tarsomeres yellowish brown. Legs covered with very short, semi-erect brown setae. Mid tarsus with shortened first and second segments, third tarsomere short with rounded outgrowth on outer lateral side. Tarsal claws inserted subapically, claw simple, without additional spines, arolium absent. WINGS (Fig. 1D). Wide, brownish, sometimes darkened along CuA, veins brownish, almost without macrotrichia. Macrotrichia on wing membrane absent. Venation: arculus absent; Sc short, ending about level with midlength of Rs, stigma indistinct, but costal margin after Sc thickened, sc-r indistinct (if present then close to Sc tip); origin of Rs approximately level with apex of A 1 ; R 1 long, apex of R 3 bent to costal margin; bases of cells r 1 and r 3 at same level. Veins r-m and m-cu shifted to mid-wing, r-m connecting to Rs (not to R 4+5 as usual) closer to its middle. Discal cell very long and open due to absence of m-m. Apical part of CuP strongly bent toward wing margin, A 1 straight, noticeably thickened basally; anal angle wide, posterior margin widely rounded. Haltere with knob yellowish white. ABDOMEN (Fig. 1A). Generally light brown, grey pruinose, covered with rather long, erect, yellow setae; tergites brownish yellow, grey pruinose, lateral and medial stripes missing, posterior margins of tergites greyish. Sternites yellowish grey. HYPOPYGIUM (Fig. 2A–H). Dark brown, grey pruinose. Tergite IX transverse with shallow U-shaped notch. Gonocoxites massive, covered with spike-shaped setae directed laterally, with large ventromesal protrusions basally and ventral protrusions at apex (Fig. 2D). One pair of terminal gonostyli well developed, lobes of gonostyli (Fig. 2G–H), each shaped as triangular-rounded plate, apically with 4–5 small teeth on inner surface. Claspers of gonostyli strongly reduced, poorly visible, each situated at base of adjacent lobe of gonostylus, shaped as small plate, tightly attached to the gonostylus with thin process directed inward. Distal portion of interbase (Fig. 2E–F) simple, appearing as slender rod gradually narrowing to acute point, basal portions of interbases merge together medially to form separate crescent-shaped plate above aedeagus, referred to here as interbasal plate (ip). Lateral apodeme of paramere poorly developed. Lateral processes of aedeagal sheath absent. Aedeagus relatively thin, long and straight, protruding beyond apices of interbases and reaching approximately to midlength of gonocoxites, apically bent upward and divided into two short rods. Female (Fig. 3A–F) Similar to male. Antenna short, with 10 segments. Female terminalia (Fig. 3B–F) with tergites VIII, IX and X and sternite VIII brown, cerci and hypovalvae brownish yellow. Tergite VIII narrow in lateral aspect, tergite IX triangular, and tergite X relatively small. Cercus elongate, nearly parallel-sided, bent upwards at approximately ⅔ of its length, bluntapexed. Hypovalve long and straight, nearly parallel-sided, setae on dorsal margin long and distinct (Fig. 3E). Tips of hypovalvae reach approximately to ⅔ of cercus length. Two pigmented spermathecae (Fig. 3F). Elevation Specimens were collected at altitudes from approximately 25 to 600 m a.s.l. Period of activity Adults fly in March–April. Bilingual Interpretation of Shakespeare’s Sonnets translated by Georgy Pilipenko

Показано, що обрана українським перекладачем стратегія білінгвальної інтерпретації дозволяє краще відтворити поетичну енергетику шекспірівських сонетів, глибше зрозуміти багатогранність їхніх смислів та повніше передати красу естетичної аури. Перекладач надає перевагу описовому перекладу, модуляції, цілісному перетворенню висловлювання, транспозиції, додаванню, намагаючись зберігати структуру оригіналу як у граматичному, так і в лексичному плані.
EN: It is the first attempt in modern Ukrainian translation studies to identify the features of translation strategies of famous translator Georgy Pilipenko, who is the author of bilingual translation of the sonnets by W. Shakespeare into Ukrainian and Russian languages. The analysis is made within the paradigm of translation within comparative studies, that is widely used by such outstanding and prominent scholars as R. Zorivchak, M. Novikova, L. Kolomiets, V. Radchuk, A. Vasylyk. Having taken into account that terms «literary translation», «bilingual translation», «strategy in translation» are in the focus of translation studies and also the nature and coexistence of such terms as “literary translation” and “translation within comparative studies” is under discussion, it is shown that the bilingual translation can be considered a strategy of translation. Using the methodology of translation within comparative studies, a comparative analysis of the sonnets (110, 66, 91) in the original and their interpretations in Ukrainian and Russian, is undertaken. A wide translation context is also taken into account: the sonnets of Shakespeare in the interpretation of Ukrainian translators (such as I. Kostetzky, D. Palamarchuk, D. Pavlychko, O. Tarnavsky, N. Butuk, V. Marach) are also used. It is shown that the translation strategy of G. Pilipenko to use bilingual translation is very successful and both Ukrainian and Russian translations created by G. Pilipenko are explicitly oriented and complement each other. In the process of translation of the sonnets of G. Pilipenko uses such transformations as descriptive translation, modulation, omission, transposition, addition and tries to keep the structure of the original both in grammatical and lexical terms. The strategy of bilingual translation helps the author of the translation to compensate those «omissions» for the sake of rhyme: when in the Russian translation, the meaning is lost and then it isn’t lost in the Ukrainian one and visa versa. He manages to decode the «message» of Renaissance epoch, keeping rhythm and melody of the sonnet and, what is the most important, succeeds to maintain the energy of translation.
RU: В статье представлен сравнительный анализ 110-го, 66-го и 91-го сонетов В. Шекспира и их переводов на украинский и русский языки, выполненных Г. Пилипенко. Установлено, что избранная украинским переводчиком стратегия билингвальной интерпретации позволяет лучше воссоздать поэтическую энергетику шекспировских сонетов, глубже понять многогранность их смыслов и полнее передать красоту эстетической ауры. В своїй работе переводчик отдает предпочтение описательному переводу, модуляции, целостному преобразованию выражения, транс- позиции, добавлению, стараясь сохранить структуру оригинала как в грамматическом, так и в лексическом плане
Researching the Potential of Artificial Intelligence to Support the Understanding of Neurological Diseases: The Cases for Frontotemporal Lobar Degeneration Detection and Mice Ultrasonic Communication Analysis
Questa ricerca di dottorato mira a esplorare le intersezioni e le sinergie tra l'apprendimento automatico e la neurologia. Il nucleo dello studio è costituito da tre indagini distinte ma interconnesse che mettono in evidenza il potenziale dell'intelligenza artificiale (IA) nel migliorare la nostra comprensione delle malattie neurodegenerative e della comunicazione animale, nonché nel migliorare i metodi di diagnosi.
La prima parte di questa ricerca studia l'applicazione di tecniche di apprendimento automatico nella diagnosi della demenza frontotemporale utilizzando dati di risonanza magnetica. Lo studio utilizza principalmente un approccio di analisi a pattern multivoxel con algoritmi di Support Vector Machine e Random Forest per l'analisi. Questa sezione mira a affrontare le sfide nella rilevazione precoce delle malattie neurodegenerative, fornendo ai professionisti medici uno strumento diagnostico di supporto che potrebbe migliorare potenzialmente gli esiti del trattamento.
La seconda parte della ricerca approfondisce l'analisi delle vocalizzazioni ultrasoniche nei topi, concentrandosi in particolare sulle modifiche nei modelli di comunicazione ultrasonica nei topi trattati con olio di Cannabis sativa rispetto ai topi di controllo. L'indagine utilizza attrezzature di registrazione specializzate e software dedicati per analizzare le vocalizzazioni ultrasoniche, facendo chiarezza sulle sfumature della comunicazione animale. Questo segmento discute delle disparità nei modelli di comunicazione ultrasonica tra i due gruppi, correlandoli a comportamenti specifici, presentando un'esaustiva esplorazione statistica.
La terza parte dello studio presenta un flusso di elaborazione dei dati per analizzare le registrazioni audio dei topi, impiegando avanzate tecniche di elaborazione del segnale e di apprendimento automatico. Questo segmento introduce un meticoloso sistema di etichettatura dei dati che assegna ciascun segmento audio a una delle otto categorie comportamentali presenti nel dataset. I calcoli degli spettrogrammi vengono utilizzati per visualizzare le caratteristiche acustiche delle vocalizzazioni ad alta frequenza dei topi. Gli esperimenti di deep learning intrapresi in questa parte mirano a scoprire informazioni sui meccanismi neurali alla base delle vocalizzazioni ultrasoniche dei topi, arricchendo così la nostra comprensione della complessa relazione tra vocalizzazione e comportamento.This doctoral research aims to explore the intersections and synergies between machine learning and neurology. The study's core is comprised of three distinct but interconnected investigations that highlight the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing our understanding of neurodegenerative diseases and animal communication, as well as improving diagnostic methods.
The first part of this research investigates the application of machine learning techniques in the diagnosis of Fronto-Temporal Dementia using Magnetic Resonance Imaging data. The study primarily uses a Multi-Voxel Pattern Analysis approach with Support Vector Machine and Random Forest algorithms for analysis. This section aims to address the challenges in the early detection of neurodegenerative diseases, providing medical professionals with a supportive diagnostic tool that could potentially improve treatment outcomes.
The second part of the research delves into the analysis of ultrasonic vocalizations in mice, specifically focusing on the changes in ultrasonic communication patterns in mice treated with Cannabis sativa oil as compared to control mice. The investigation utilizes specialized recording equipment and dedicated software to analyze USVs, shedding light on the nuances of animal communication. This segment discusses the disparities in ultrasonic communication patterns between the two groups, correlating them with specific behaviors, presenting a comprehensive statistical exploration.
The third part of the study presents a data processing pipeline to analyze mouse audio data, employing advanced signal processing techniques and machine learning. This segment introduces a meticulous data labeling system that assigns each audio segment to one of eight behavioral categories. Spectrogram computations are used to visualize distinct acoustic characteristics of high-frequency mouse vocalizations. Deep learning experiments undertaken in this part aim to uncover insights into the neural mechanisms underlying mouse ultrasonic vocalizations, thereby enriching our understanding of the intricate relationship between vocalization and behavior
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
