No full textEvidence of over 350 citations recorded by the articles published in the 2010 special issue on “The Age of Temporary Advantage” of the Strategic Management Journal shows that the inquiry on temporary nature of competitive advantage is an emergent research area in strategic management. They also exhibit that, most likely, it is going to be a significant research area for the coming years. To assess the current status of the literature as well as to fathom the directions and challenges of future research on temporary advantage, we review prior empirical research on temporary advantage so as to offer a conceptual map that provides a comprehensive appreciation of antecedents, processes, and consequences of temporary advantage. We then advance a research agenda on temporary competitive advantage

Graphene interfaced with oxide ultrathin films is a particularly appealing system for the development of
new devices, since the dielectric layer can be used to modulate the physical properties of the carbon
monolayer. Furthermore, graphene can be used as a template to synthesize novel two-dimensional oxide
materials.[1] Despite such an extreme technological and scientific interest, only few successful examples
of sharp graphene/oxide interfaces have been reported so far, since the growth of atomically flat ultrathin
oxide films on the honeycomb monolayer is hampered by the extremely low surface free energy of
graphene, which promotes the nucleation of three-dimensional clusters. Here, by using standard surface
science techniques, I will analyze the structural, chemical and electronic properties of transition metals
oxide (CrxOy and FexOy) and rare earths oxide (ErxOy )ultrathin films grown on the graphene/Ni(111)
substrate.[2,3] The experimental results reveal a rich variety of graphene heterostructures, depending on
the element used and the synthesis procedure.

Questa finalità viene perseguita occultando nella rappresentazione dell’esule il tratto distintivo dell’asprezza intransigente e presentando la scelta di Marcello, dello stesso Cicerone e dei loro amici di collocarsi sul fronte di Pompeo come un error humanus, giustificabile perché determinato da un fatum inesplicabile e non frutto di crudelitas o di cupiditas,: della correttezza di tale valutazione è trovata conferma proprio nella clementia elargita da Cesare agli antichi avversari. Viene così operata una radicale ridefinizione della maschera catoniana consapevolmente indossata dall’esule di Mitilene, del quale nell’orazione ciceroniana sono invece abilmente posti in evidenza i comportamenti che ne fanno un doppio dello stesso Arpinate

Pagano e di E. Persico, per arrivare ad individuare alcuni nuclei tematici intorno a cui la Mediterraneità stessa in architettura si è declinata. Il rapporto con l'architettura spontanea, la relazione forma costruita e forma di natura e la considerazione di un'invarianza tipologica nel progetto della casa, vengono segnati come capisaldi per individuare un sostrato comune alle culture dell'abitare nel progetto della casa Mediterrranea
Hic sunt Hobbits. La “realizzazione” di un paesaggio virtuale.
No full textIl contributo si propone di descrivere due potenti dispositivi che Tolkien ha adoperato per consolidare la sua rappresentazione della Terra di Mezzo e renderla il più possibile vicina alla realtà: le mappe e i paesaggi. Entrambi sono utilizzati come strumenti che trasformano la geografia epica e virtuale de Il Signore degli Anelli in una concreta rievocazione della situazione europea vissuta da Tolkien. In particolare, saranno descritte tre specifiche aree: la Contea, casa degli Hobbit e monumento al vecchio spirito di Englishness; Moria, il labirinto profondo e abissale; Mordor, l’infernale macchina da guerra. Attraverso l’analisi di un caso particolare, il contributo mostrerà come la Terra di Mezzo, benché inizialmente ispirata a e derivata da paesaggi europei esistenti, sia ora diventata a sua volta fonte di ispirazione per il mondo reale: un caveat sul potere dell’epica, anche nella nostra società (post-)moderna.This paper aims at describing two powerful tools that Tolkien used to strengthen his representation of Middle-earth and make it as close as possible to reality: maps and landscapes. Both are used as instruments that transform the epic and virtual geography of The Lord of the Rings into a concrete re-enactment of the European situation that Tolkien lived. In particular, three peculiar areas will be described: the Shire, home of the Hobbits and monument to the old spirit of Englishness; Moria, the abyssal and abysmal labyrinth; and Mordor, the infernal machine of war. Through the analysis of a peculiar case, the paper will show how Middle-earth, although initially inspired and derived from existing European landscapes, has now become in its turn a source of inspiration for the real world: a caveat of the power of epics, even in our (post-)modern society

Ne esce fuori un quadro complesso e variegato, che mostra come le differenze territoriali siano profondamente marcate. Il testo utilizza i dati rilevati tramite un questionario organizzato da un gruppo di ricerca che comprende l'autore; inoltre, al testo sono allegate diverse mappe tematiche che esemplificano visivamente le differenze territoriali.The text analyses the data on educational poverty in Palermo, subdividing them by Circoscrizioni and, when possible, by neighbourhood. The result is a complex and varied picture that shows how the territorial differences are profoundly marked. The text uses the data collected through a questionnaire organised by a research group that includes the author; moreover, several thematic maps are attached to the text and visually exemplify the territorial differences
