Fast obstacle detection for UAV using vision (4)
Automatic obstacle detection and avoidance is a key component for the success of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the future. As the payload of UAVs is highly constrained, cameras are attractive sensors because they are both lightweight and provide rich information about the environment. In this paper, the student presents an approach that allows a UAV to detect obstacles with horizontal scan using a stereo camera mounted on the UAV. While the UAV is hovering, the stereo camera captures stereo image sequences in its forward direction. The captured stereo images are sent to ground control station for processing. Semi-Global Block-Matching algorithm is used as a matching method for those input stereo image pairs and it outputs a disparity map. From this disparity map, the depth information or distance to the obstacles can be obtained, hence it allows the UAV to detect obstacles in a specific range in its flight path. In this project, the obstacles in up to 25m radius around the aircraft are detected. This paper describes the theory behind the stereo obstacle detection system, the approach and results, and demonstrates the obstacle detection accuracies of the system.Bachelor of Engineerin

Thit samkhan khong muang Chiangmai lae Sukhothai
The article illustrates the important geographical urban planning of ancient Chiangmai and Sukhothai. In the Northwest of each city, according to the author, there located a Buddhist temple. In Chiangmai, it was Wat Mahaphotharam, while in Sukhuthai, there was Wat Sichum. The direction is significant. That is, India, where Buddhism originated, is the Northwest of Thailand. The author contends that this reflects the strong belief in Buddhism among ancient Chiangmai and Sukhothai residents
Book Review: The Arte Militaire. The Application of 17th Century Military Manuals to Conflict Archaeology by Warwick Louth
The book consists of the rewritten essay of a master thesis. The author got his master's degree as a battlefield and conflict archaeologist from the Centre of Battlefield Archaeology at University of Glasgow founded by Professor Dr. Tony Pollard in 2006. I myself have studied at the Centre of Battlefield Archaeology back in 2007, and it was a pleasure to dive back into my old field. It was especially a pleasure as this book is very well written and well researched
Chap kohok ""Yakhop"" 70 pi chua pen tu pen ta ""Phuchanasipthit"" khian chak phongsawadan Phama 8 banthat?
It was widely known that Yakop, the author of best-seller historical fiction ""Phu chana sip thit"", wrote his eight-volume novel based on only eight lines of Burmese historical facts. In this article, the author describes the inspiration of Yakop, or known as Chot Phraephan, on becoming a writer. He argues that Yakop indeed had done extensive research while he was writing this novel
Developing countries and the Uruguay Round : negotiations on services
In the late 1980s many developing countries experienced something of a pardigm shift: governments began to pursue more market-oriented domestic policies. There was an increasing perception that liberalizing access to service markets was a potentially low-cost, effective method for improving the quality and efficiency of domestic service sectors. These unilateral policy developments increased the incentives for developing countries as a group to participate in a multilateral agreement to liberalize trade in services. The author explores the extent to which the initial negotiating positions of developing countries are reflected in the draft General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS) that has emerged from the Uruguay Round negotiations. He investigates whether the unilateral policy changes implemented by many developing countries in the late 1980s had a discernible impact on the draft GATS for developing countries. Many developing countries are pursuing regulatory reform and liberalization. To what extent will signing the GATS help governments trying to make their service sectors more efficient? Is the result of the defensive negotiating strategy that was pursued consistent with the shift toward a policy of liberalizing service markets? This issue is of particular relevance insofar as recent liberalization-plus-privatization programs in developing countries were driven by external forces rather than domestic pressure (industry) groups - which might reduce the credibility of liberalization policies. Membership in a binding multilateral agreement could help bolster reform efforts by increasing the costs of backsliding.Trade and Services,Poverty Assessment,TF054105-DONOR FUNDED OPERATION ADMINISTRATION FEE INCOME AND EXPENSE ACCOUNT,Governance Indicators,Rules of Origin
Erich von Mendelssohn, Autor und früher Vermittler nordischer Literatur
This contribution is to commemorate Erich von Mendelssohn (1887-1913), a gifted author and a translator of medieval and modern Scandinavian, especially Danish literature, who lamentably passed away at a very young age. It contains a short biography of von Mendelssohn and deals with his poetic (including a so far unknown poem) and prosaic works (Phantasten, Die Heimkehr, Nacht und Tag, Juliana) on one hand and his translations from Danish (works from J. P. Jacobsen, Thit Jensen, and Svend Fleuron) and Old (several sagas) and New Icelandic (Einar H. Kvaran) on the other
PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE TWO STAY TWO STRAY (TS-TS) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIKA SISWA
The problem that the author encountered in class X SMK Palapa Bandar Lampung is the low ability of mathematical communication. The purpose of the study was to determine the difference in average mathematical communication skills of students who use the Two Stay Two Stray (TS-TS)cooperative learning model with TS-TS using the Conventional learning model in class X students even semester of SMK Palapa Bandar Lampung. This study used an experimental method, the population of the study was 123 students of SMK Palapa Bandar Lampung, samples taken using the Random Sampling Cluster technique, namely the X PM class as the Experiment class and the AP X Class as the Control class. Students\u27 mathematical communication skills are carried out with an essay test which amounts to 6 questions which are first tested for their validity and reliability. From the results of testing the hypothesis using the t-test obtained thit = 4.94 from the t distribution table at a significant level of 5% known tdaf = 1.67. So thit > tdaf so that it can be concluded that "There is an Effect of the Application of the Two Stay Two Stray Cooperative Learning Model (TS-TS) on the Mathematical Communication Ability of Class X Students in the even semester of SMK Palapa Bandar Lampun

Predictors of malaria rapid diagnostic test positivity in a high burden area of Paletwa Township, Chin State in Western Myanmar
BackgroundDespite major reductions in malaria burden across Myanmar, clusters of the disease continue to persist in specific subregions. This study aimed to assess the predictors of test positivity among people living in Paletwa Township of Chin State, an area of persistently high malaria burden.MethodsFour villages with the highest malaria incidence from Paletwa Township were purposively selected. The characteristics of 1045 subjects seeking malaria diagnosis from the four assigned village health volunteers from January to December, 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. Their household conditions and surroundings were also recorded using a checklist. Descriptive statistics and logistic regression models were applied to investigate potential associations between individual and household characteristics and malaria diagnosis.ResultsIn 2017, the Paletwa township presented 20.9% positivity and an annual parasite index of 46.9 cases per 1000 people. Plasmodium falciparum was the predominant species and accounted for more than 80.0% of all infections. Among 1045 people presenting at a clinic with malaria symptoms, 31.1% were diagnosed with malaria. Predictors for test positivity included living in a hut [adjusted odds ratios (a OR): 2.3, 95% confidence intervals (CI): 1.2-4.6], owning farm animals (aOR: 1.7, 95% CI: 1.1-3.6), using non-septic type of toilets (aOR: 1.9, 95% CI: 1.1-8.4), presenting with fever (aOR: 1.9, 95% CI: 1.1-3.0), having a malaria episode within the last year (aOR: 2.9, 95% CI: 1.4-5.8), traveling outside the village in the previous 14 days (aOR: 4.5, 95% CI: 1.5-13.4), and not using bed nets (a OR: 3.4, 95% CI: 2.3-5.1). There were no statistically significant differences by age or gender in this present analysis.ConclusionsThe results from this study, including a high proportion of P. falciparum infections, little difference in age, sex, or occupation, suggest that malaria is a major burden for these study villages. Targeted health education campaigns should be introduced to strengthen synchronous diagnosis-seeking behaviors, tighten treatment adherence, receiving a diagnosis after traveling to endemic regions, and using bed nets properly. We suggest increased surveillance, early diagnosis, and treatment efforts to control the disease and then to consider the local elimination
