No full textDer ursprünglich von Walter Masing herausgegebene Handbuchklassiker zum Thema Qualitätsmanagement wird in der 6. Auflage nun schon zum zweiten Mal von Prof. Dr.-Ing. Tilo Pfeifer und Prof. Dr.-Ing. Robert Schmitt, dem ehemaligen bzw. dem jetzigen Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Fertigungsmesstechnik und Qualitätsmanagement am Werkzeugmaschinenlabor WZL der RWTH Aachen, herausgegeben. Das Handbuch basiert in seiner neuen Auflage auf den Beiträgen der 5. Auflage, die jedoch durchgehend überarbeitet wurden, um die aktuellen Entwicklungen im Qualitätsmanagement zu berücksichtigen. Die schon von Professor Walter Masing begründete bewährte Struktur wird allerdings weiterhin beibehalten: Qualitätsmanagement als Grundlage für den Unternehmenserfolg und als wichtigste Aufgabe der Unternehmensführung, Qualitätsmanagement-Systeme sowie Qualitätsmanagement im Produktlebenszyklus materieller und immaterieller Produkte. In 49 Kapiteln haben über 50 führende Experten aus Wissenschaft, Verbänden und Industrie ihr Erfahrungswissen und ihre Sichtweisen zu diesen unterschiedlichen Aspekten des Qualitätsmanagements dokumentiert. In der 6. Auflage wurden die Kapitel den geänderten Normen, Standards und gesetzlichen Regeln angepasst. Neue Sichtweisen auf das Geschäftsprozessmanagement und auf die Verantwortung der obersten Leitung wurden eingearbeitet. Ebenfalls neu ist das Layout komplett in Farbe. Das Ziel des Werkes hat sich dabei nicht verändert. Sein Anspruch lautet auch weiterhin, dem Leser zu den grundlegenden Fragen des Qualitätsmanagements Antworten und für die unternehmensrelevanten Aufgaben praktische Hilfestellung zu geben

No full textStarting point of this paper was the insight that inspection planning in its current state does not satisfy today’s needs. The globalization of markets, dynamic sampling of product life cycles and the continuously increasing demands of customers lead to deep changes. Companies react with adaptation of both structural and process organization – processes are being modified, internal structures redefined. The inspection planning was not yet considered except of IT support in some single functions. Steadily increasing product recalls state that products with failures are given into the market – even with security relevant failure. Less visible are the impacts caused by products which lead to lower sales volume or benefits. The causes are one the one hand the costs for amendments, to abolish the failures. On the other hand customers substitute products if the features do not match their needs. In this paper the modular inspection planning was developed, considering globalization of markets, dynamic sampling of product life cycles and the continuously increasing demands of customers: Integrated in the chain of production, strictly orientated to customer needs, based on methods of QM and involving all necessary departments in a company. The concept consists of fife modules planning, development, ramp-up, serial production and application which are positioned along the chain of production. The modules are based on the three dimensions: functions of inspection planning use of QM methods and expertise of departments. The creation and development of the inspection plan is parallel to product development. While the first modules consider customer need when defining the inspection features the following modules integrate the information gained during development and production. Eventually the module application verifies the inspection plan and starts rework if necessary. The internally closed modules are based upon another – the achievment of objectives in ensured by Quality Gates. The maturity of content is assessed from the point of views of internal supplier at the beginning and internal customers at the end of each module. If deviations occur actions are defined and permanently monitored to ensure that the targets will be met

No full textThe atmospheric plasma spraying process is established and provides cost reduction effects using qualified coatings. But the partly nonlinear and changing characteristics of this process are a challenge for process control.In this dissertation an approach is described, how a process control for atmospheric plasma spraying can be realised, using artificial neural networks. Base of this work is first the selection of a measurement system, the PFI-System, and second the choice of a control algorithm, the "supervised control". With the inductive procedure of Balzer an approach is described to define and optimise the artificial neural network. To train the artificial neural network design of experiments is used. With this a fast and targeted training can be done. An approach to update the artificial neural network regularly completes the theoretic research. By using a selected thermal spray process as a case study, the whole approach and the function of the controller is shown
