No full textThis article traces the intellectual trajectory of the anthropologist and Africanist Peter Geschiere, which is deeply informed by a commitment to meticulous and long-term ethnographic fieldwork that prioritizes local ways of being and subjectivities. The article highlights some of the significant contributions Geschiere made to the fields of Anthropology and African Studies, including his insights into the politics and perils of belonging which he studied in relation to the rise of politics of autochthony in both the Netherlands and in Cameroon as well as his sustained intellectual attention to what can be called the occult or the hidden dimensions of kinship and witchcraft. No full textDalla fine degli anni 199o, impoegando la categoria dell'autoctonia, la ricerca sulle politiche dell'etnicità, dell'appartenenza e della cittadinanza in africa ha messo in rilievo le omologie che si osservano nelle tensioni e nei conflitti che hanno interessato molti paesi africani, nel corso dei processi di liberalizzazione e democratizzazione. Il dossier curato focalizza in particolare i legami tra le istanze dell'autoctonia e le forme di depoliticizzazione e di naturalizzazione che operano nel contesto dela governamentalità liberale, ovvero in quel governo della vita che articola in modi diversi, ma sempre secondo una sintassi bioplitica, delle "popolazioni" dei "territori" e delle "appartenenze" e delle "risorse"

No full textLes 8 et 9 décembre 2011, La LAAP (Centre d’Anthropologie Prospective) organise un séminaire international de recherche autour des travaux de Peter Geschiere (University of Amsterdam) : « Witchcraft, Belonging and Citizenship in a Global World ». Ce Séminaire International résidentiel s’organisera en deux journées. La première proposera une conférence inaugurale « Sorcellerie, intimité et confiance », donnée par Peter Geschiere. La seconde journée se présentera sous la forme d’un Workshop divisé en trois ateliers autour des thèmes principaux de ses travaux (modernité et sorcellerie, appartenances et autochtonie, politiques de développement et d’exploitation des ressources naturelles). Ce séminaire international permettra aux chercheurs sélectionnés d'exposer leurs travaux et d’être discutés sur le fond par Peter Geschiere
