Ex-Slave Narrative - Henderson Perkins
A transcript of an Ex-Slave Narrative interview conducted by Sheldon F. Gauthier for the Works Progress Administration\u27s Federal Writers Project in the 1930s with Henderson Perkins. Perkins believes he was born in 1839. Perkins recalls John Pruitt, being born on the farm and living there until he and his mother were sold to Tom Garner after moving to Texas. He then describes working for Garner, driving oxen and delivering corn and water for the tavern that Garner owned, including an accident with the oxen. Leading the ADS Advanced Programs’ team, Tom coordinates a highly talented group of technical experts working alongside program managers, operational experts, and capture professionals. Their focus is to create and develop opportunities for ADS to apply its innovations and expertise to the most challenging space systems development tasks. His team harnesses a company-wide passion for problem-solving by leveraging a world class research portfolio with exquisite analytical capabilities and deep operational experience.
