Digital Addiction: a conceptual overview
Abstract
Digital addiction referred to an impulse control disorder that involves the obsessive use of digital devices, digital technologies, and digital platforms, i.e. internet, video game, online platforms, mobile devices, digital gadgets, and social network platform. It is an emerging domain of Cyberpsychology (Singh, Amarjit Kumar and Pawan Kumar Singh; 2019), which explore a problematic usage of digital media, device, and platforms by being obsessive and excessive. This article analyses, reviewed the current research, and established a conceptual overview on the digital addiction. The research literature on digital addiction has proliferated. However, we tried to categories the digital addiction, according to existing literature and current research. We discuss in this paper the conceptual outline of digital addiction, including its definition, theoretical background, its classification, symptoms, coping and future directions. We conducted a literature review and after that established conceptual overview of the digital addiction. Using scholarly bibliographic databases, covering 300 most relevant research papers from the period of 2012 to 29, October 2019 was conducted to determine a conceptual overview of digital addiction. Most paper examined to build on the concepts of definition, symptoms, coping with digital addiction. We only included those studies, which correlated to our conceptual review, but address the few relevant other studies also. The Editors have retracted this Article. The testing accuracy for the method reported in the Article was found to be over 99% for all datasets. However, it has been brought to the Editors’ attention after the publication of the Article that the graph labels were included as node-level attributes. These attributes were then used by the classifier to predict the graph label, violating the testing procedure, and leading to an over-estimation of the model’s classification accuracy. Ali Ahmadian and Massimiliano Ferrara disagree with this retraction. Pritam Saha, Debadyuti Mukherjee, Pawan Kumar Singh and Ram Sarkar have not responded to correspondence from the Editors about this retraction
A commercial approach towards fabrication of bulk and nano phosphors converted highly-efficient white LEDs
Herein, we report a strategy to synthesize a highly efficient yellow light emitting Y3−xAl5O12:Cex (x = 0.03 to 0.3) based bulk as well as nano (rod-shaped) phosphors, which are the main component of solid state white light-emitting diodes (WLEDs). The as-synthesized phosphors were well characterized by several experimental techniques related to material characterization and spectroscopy. The bulk and nano phosphors emit with maximum photoluminescence intensities at 549 and 530 nm, respectively, upon excitation at a wavelength of 468 nm. These phosphors exhibit higher photoluminescence intensity as compared to commercially available bulk phosphors coated on WLED strips. Moreover, the integration of commercially available InGaN blue LED strips with the synthesized bulk and nano phosphors demonstrates better CIE coordinates and lower colour temperature with high brightness (>81% quantum yield) compared to commercially available WLED-based strips, lanterns and torches. These highly efficient light-emitting phosphors are a feasible candidate for potential use in commercial WLED applications
