    Hyperauthorship in Mikhail Bakhtin: The Primary Author and Conceptual Personae

    This article explores the phemenon of hyperauthorship in intellectual writing: a primary author (hyperauthor) creates a number of secondary authors (hypoauthors), and develops possible conceptual systems on their behalf. The case under consideration is Mikhail Bakhtin and his complex relationship with his friends Pavel Medvedev and Valentin Voloshinov, members of the so called "Bakhtin's circle" (in the 1920s) who are credited with authorship of several books which may have been actually written by Bakhtin himself. Still unclear from biographical and historical perspectives, this problem of authentic attribution of Medvedev's and Voloshinov's texts can be clarified in the theoretical framework of "hyperauthorship" and "possibilistic thinking." This article applies Bakhtin's own theory of the "primary author immersed in silence," as well as Deleuze and Guattari's notion of "conceptual personae," to explain this case of "shared," or "transferred" authorship. The figures of Voloshinov and Medvedev, though historically real, may be viewed as Bakhtin's projections of "ideal," or "utopian" Marxism in linguistics and literary theory

    Tsar Mikhail Romanov: His Entry into Power

    Introduction. As historical literature shows, the election of Tsar Mikhail Romanov at the Zemsky Sobor of 1613 occurred without broad support of boyars and nobles. The Cossacks played a decisive role in his election. This article is devoted to considering the issue of how Tsar Mikhail was able to establish himself in power. Methods and materials. The article is based on the use and comprehensive analysis of the sources, which show the process of approval of Tsar Mikhail Romanov in power. The article uses narrative and documentary sources, including new archival materials. The article contains a critical comparison of official and unofficial sources. The author of the article uses the principles of historicism and system analysis. The article considers the events of 1613 in their development and interrelations, and provides a comprehensive analysis of various political and socio-economic phenomena that contributed to Tsar Mikhail’s power strengthening. The article uses the methods of genealogical research and textual analysis of sources. Analysis. On March 14, 1613, Tsar Mikhail, after much persuasion, agreed to accept the throne in Kostroma, but he didn’t hurry to move to Moscow. He arrived in Moscow only on May 2, 1613. It was necessary to strengthen the authority of the royal power, to establish relations with social classes and, above all, with the ruling elite. The author of the article shows that Tsar Mikhail and his entourage coped very successfully with these problems during the march from Kostroma to Moscow. The control over the government, the initiative of operational assignments and solutions of land affairs gradually concentrated in the hands of the tsar. The author shows that Mikhail entered Moscow as an absolute sovereign and that there is no reason to talk about restricting his power in favor of the Boyar Duma and the Zemsky Sobor. During 1613-1618 the composition of the Duma and court ranks was intensively replenished by the Romanovs. Results. The author comes to the conclusion that during the first years of Mikhail Fedorovich’s reign the position of the House of Romanov in the state was significantly strengthened

    Introduction. The historical literature noted the active participation of the Novgorod nobility in the events of the Time of Troubles. The question of the fate of the Novgorod nobility during the reign of Mikhail Fedorovich has been much less studied. This article is devoted to the consideration of the question of the entry of representatives of the Novgorod nobility into the Sovereign’s court of Tsar Mikhail. Methods and materials. The article is based on the use and comprehensive analysis of the sources, which show the process of entry of the Novgorod nobility into the Sovereign’s court. The article uses documentary sources, including new archival materials. The author of the article uses the methods of prosopographic and historical-genealogical research. Analysis. The author of the article showed a very wide scale of the entry of the Novgorod nobles into the various ranks of the sovereign’s court. As a rule, those persons who deserted from Novgorod to the side of Moscow and faithfully served the Moscow authorities were granted to the court of Tsar Mikhail. By granting these nobles to serve at the court, the government of Tsar Mikhail had the goal of strengthening its political support. Results. The author comes to the conclusion that the enrollment of a number of representatives of the Novgorod nobility in the sovereign’s court led not to the strengthening, but to the weakening of the Novgorod service corporation as a whole, since it removed the most prominent and active nobles from its composition. Once in the sovereign’s court, people from Novgorod families gradually lost ties with the Novgorod nobility and sought to establish themselves in the new court environment

    What are the implications of Curriculum Learning strategy on IRL methods?: Investigating Inverse Reinforcement Learning from Human Behavior

    Inverse Reinforcement Learning (IRL) is a subfield of Reinforcement Learning (RL) that focuses on recovering the reward function using expert demonstrations. In the field of IRL, Adversarial IRL (AIRL) is a promising algorithm that is postulated to recover non-linear rewards in environments with unknown dynamics. This study investigates the potential benefits of applying the Curriculum Learning (CL) strategy to the AIRL algorithm. For our experiments, we use a randomized partially observable Markov decision process in the form of a grid-world-like environment. Using only expert demonstrations obtained with an RL algorithm under the true reward function, we train AIRL in a variety of configurations and identify an effective curriculum. Our results show, that a well-constructed curriculum can enhance the performance of AIRL twofold in both key aspects: the speed of convergence and the efficiency of using expert demonstrations. We thus conclude that CL can be a useful addition to an AIRL-based solution.     In 1913 Prince Sergei Volkonsky, a director of the Russian Imperial Ballet, published two books based on Delsarte’s principles which had considerable impact on the Russian modernist theatre. Stanislavsky, Meyerhold and Vakhtangov, all explored the semiology of emotional expression, as did the Russian physiologists Sechenov and Pavlov. Mikhail Chekhov, in particular, developed principles of physical acting, and the article concludes with a comparison between his work and that of Delsarte

He was a PhD candidate, a talented scientist, senior researcher, head of the Laboratory of Entomology, head of the fund collections of invertebrates in the State Reserve «Galichya Gora». Mikhail N. Tsurikov was the author of 372 scientific publications, 97 popular scientific articles, two authorship certificates, four invention patents in the following scientific fields: studies of fauna and Coleoptera ecology as well as development of methods for studies of invertebrates
