''A timid, quiet child with plenty of money. That is the picture drawn of O. Henry by Paul Adams, manager of the San Antonio Builders Exchange and the nation's foremost authority of O.Henryiana. For 25 years Adams has delved into old manuscripts and talked to old cronies of O. Henry to build up what authorities have termed one of the most complete records ever compiled on the master of the short story.'' [According to Adams, O. Henry] came to San Antonio for a few weeks, published his magazine, 'Rolling Stones', and later sold out to an old San Antonio newspaperman, Henry R. Taylor. 'Incidentally,' Adams pointed out, 'the tablet at 1827 South Presa Street which labels the house the home of O. Henry is wrong. He never lived there. Rather, that is where the magazine was compiled and that is where Taylor lived.''..'
