O PAPEL DOS PAIS NO DESENVOLVIMENTO INFANTIL: UMA PERSPECTIVA BASEADA EM DIREITOS
Get PDFThis article explores the evolving role of fathers in early childhood development through a child rights lens. Anchored in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC)—particularly Articles 5, 18, and 27, which stress the best interests of the child—it challenges the enduring stereotype of fathers as solely financial providers. Employing a normative-analytical approach, the paper critically reviews international legal frameworks and scholarly literature to identify socio-cultural and institutional barriers to paternal involvement, especially within the Global South. Focusing on Indonesia—due to its recent legal reforms and entrenched gender norms—the study proposes a reconceptualisation of fatherhood across four key dimensions: emotional presence, hands-on caregiving, respectful dialogue, and cooperative co-parenting. It presents a set of evidence-informed policy and practice recommendations that position fathers as active, equal partners in nurturing and protecting young children. By offering a rights-based normative framework, this study contributes to global discourse on gender-transformative parenting and affirms every child’s right to balanced, nurturing care from both parents. This conceptual contribution connects legal, cultural, and policy domains, advancing a vision of fatherhood grounded in justice, equity, and the principles of the CRC.Este artigo analisa o papel em evolução dos pais no desenvolvimento da primeira infância sob a perspectiva dos direitos da criança. Ancorado na Convenção das Nações Unidas sobre os Direitos da Criança (CRC)—em especial os Artigos 5, 18 e 27, que enfatizam o interesse superior da criança—o estudo desafia o estereótipo persistente dos pais como meros provedores financeiros. Utilizando uma abordagem analítico-normativa, o artigo revisa criticamente marcos jurídicos internacionais e literatura acadêmica para identificar barreiras socioculturais e institucionais ao envolvimento paterno, especialmente no Sul Global. Com foco na Indonésia—dada sua recente reforma legislativa e normas de gênero arraigadas—o estudo propõe uma reconceituação da paternidade em quatro dimensões essenciais: presença emocional, cuidado direto, diálogo respeitoso e coparentalidade cooperativa. Apresenta um conjunto de recomendações políticas e práticas baseadas em evidências, que posicionam os pais como parceiros ativos e iguais no cuidado e proteção de crianças pequenas. Ao oferecer um referencial normativo baseado em direitos, este estudo contribui para o debate global sobre parentalidade transformadora de gênero e reafirma o direito de toda criança a receber cuidados equilibrados e afetivos de ambos os pais. Esta contribuição conceitual conecta os domínios jurídico, cultural e político, promovendo uma visão de paternidade fundamentada em justiça, equidade e nos princípios da CRC

Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi kebijakan parenting berbasis hak anak di berbagai negara serta faktor yang mempengaruhi keberhasilannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dan metode PRISMA 2020 untuk menganalisis kebijakan. Data dikumpulkan dari jurnal ilmiah dan publikasi akademik. Negara dengan kebijakan kuat mendukung keterlibatan orang tua dalam pendidikan. Negara Nordik menerapkan parental leave yang panjang, sedangkan Kanada dan Australia mengembangkan kebijakan berbasis komunitas. Indonesia dan Malaysia menghadapi hambatan sosial dan budaya dalam implementasi. Penelitian ini berdampak pada kebijakan pendidikan, pengasuhan, dan riset akademik. Pemerintah perlu memperkuat regulasi parental leave dan mengintegrasikan parenting berbasis hak anak. Kajian lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk menilai efektivitas kebijakan ini di berbagai konteks sosial budaya. Keberhasilan kebijakan bergantung pada regulasi dan adaptasi budaya. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
