A Basic Study on Anomaly Diagnosis for Infrastructure Using Operational Transfer Path Analysis
This paper describes a new health monitoring method using operational transfer path analysis for operating machine and infrastructure. At first, vibrational characteristics of the operational transfer path analysis to a two-beam structure consists of difference sections are shown. And then, the health monitoring method identifies damage location and damage extent using the operational transfer path analysis is proposed. The newest method is validated through numerical analyses, using a finite element method of a simple structure consisting of one-beam structure including the young's modulus of one part of element changed. As a result, the effectiveness of the method is verified.departmental bulletin pape
How Does Growth Affect Labor Income by Gender? A Structural Path Analysis for Tanzania
This paper uses structural path analysis to examine the transmission channels through which an initial shock travels through the economy to affect other accounts of a Social Accounting Matrix. The focus is on the impact of shocks on labor income by gender in Tanzania and the analysis is used to characterize what we call the concentration, strength, and speed of various transmission channels.Gender; Labor income; Social Accounting Matrix; Structural Path Analysis; Tanzania
Predictive Models of Adult Distance Learners' Academic Performance: Comparative Analysis of Two Regression-based Models of Path Analysis
Using two regression-based models, this study looked into factors that explain academic performance of adult distance learners. The efficiency and applicability of linear regression and logit regression procedures as statistical models for path analysis of mixed variables were compared along the criteria of model goodness-of-fit, predictive efficiency, and effect adequacy. Based on the criteria used, logit regression procedure has been shown to be a more efficient statistical tool than the classical linear regression procedure, when investigating pattern of causal relationships among variables at different levels of measurement. Implications of the study on distance education as a nontraditional mode of study and on achievement of adult distance learners were also presented
Besov Rough Path Analysis
Rough path analysis is developed in the full Besov scale. This extends, and essentially concludes, an investigation started by Prömel and Trabs (2016) [49], further studied in a series of papers by Liu, Prömel and Teichmann. A new Besov sewing lemma, a real-analysis result of interest in its own right, plays a key role, and the flexibility in the choice of Besov parameters allows for the treatment of equations not available in the Hölder or variation settings. Important classes of stochastic processes fit in the present framework
ISLAMICITY AND GLOBAL COMPETITIVENESS: A CROSS-NATIONS PATH ANALYSIS
This paper analysis the impact, direct and indirect impacts, of
Islamicity on Global competitiveness, with Human development as
moderator variable. Cross-section data on Islamicity index, Human
development index and Global competitiveness index were collected
from 123 countries and employed in a path analysis model. The results
show that Islamicity had a positive and significant direct impact on
global competitiveness. Islamicity had also positive and significant
direct impact on human development. These direct impacts were
statistically significant. Furthermore, human development had a
positive and significant direct impact on the global competitiveness.
Finally, Islamicity had a positive and significant indirect impact on the
global competitiveness, through human development. It is suggested
that Islamic teaching be implemented in daily life in order to maintain
competitiveness globally
The path analysis of early maladaptive schemas, coping strategies and mental quality of life
Aim and Background: Early maladaptive schemas are assumed to be a disrupting factor for quality of life. Yet, the mechanism of this vulnerability is not well known. The purpose of this study was to investigate mediating effect of coping strategies on the relationship between early maladaptive schemas in the domain of disconnection and rejection and mental quality of life.
Methods and Materials: The research was a descriptive-correlational study. The statistical population was consisting of males and females who were 20 to 35 years old and they were residents of Isfahan in the year 1390. Two hundred and forty five of people were selected by available sampling method. They completed the Young Schema Questionnaire-Short Form (YSQ-SF), Coping Inventory for Stressful Situation (CISS) and WHOQOL-BREF Quality of life Questionnaire. Data was analyzed by using path analysis with SPSS 18 and LISREL 8.5.
Findings: The path analysis indicated that emotion-focused strategy is the mediator on the relationship between emotional deprivation schema and mental quality of life (direct effect = -0.11, indirect effect = -0.07, P< 0.05) and between abandonment schema and mental quality of life (direct effect = -0.09, indirect effect = -0.04, P< 0.05).
Conclusions: Coping strategies are mediator on the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and mental quality of life. Therefore, modification of coping strategies can improve mental quality of life in people who have early maladaptive schemas
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
