Multimodal and Agent-Based Human–Computer Interaction in Cultural Heritage Applications: an Overview
The Intercultural SMEs` Entrepreneurship Archetype: a Multilayer Perceptron Analysis
This study examines the intercultural archetype entrepreneurship phenomenon of SMEs operating in Albania through the engagement of financial and social drivers. The effect size analysis and the Multilayer Perceptron Artificial Neural Networks (MLP-ANNs) use a dataset containing 120 SMEs referring to 2020-2021. The MLP-ANN model examines the SMEs` entrepreneurship archetype measured by the equity origin indicator that classifies the national, foreign, and joint-venture businesses. The data show that national businesses tend to consider a portfolio diversification approach. Thus, they delegate business administration issues to skilled professionals who prefer to maintain high liquidity and long-term debt levels. The foreign business’s managerial style coincides with the local one but is handled in less aggressive tones and is more focused on specific goals/activities. In joint-venture businesses, instead, the owners are directly involved in management issues by assuming a more conservative approach mainly focused on short-term and fixed assets
FAMILY MEDIATION AND ITS EFFECTIVNESS: EMPIRICAL STUDY ON EXPERTS’ PERCEPTION IN ALBANIA
Family Mediation, as an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) instrument, is recommended by international academics and experts as a crucial means for effective dispute resolution. Empirical studies have reported legal, financial, and co-parenting challenges, especially cross–border ones, considering migration challenges. A recent European Union study concluded that the Mediation Directive\u27s aims were fulfilled only in countries that introduced mandatory mediation. In emerging and consolidating democracies - like those in the Western Balkans, where the judiciary is facing efficiency challenges - the use of ADR (including family mediation) is even more significant, reducing the case backlog in courts.
Given the premises, this study aims to investigate the effectiveness of family mediation, specifically its applicability, effectiveness, quality, costs, and the opportunity to introduce its mandatory use in Albania. The methodology used in this paper is a mixed one, using qualitative and quantitative methods. For the empirical study, 50 Albanian experts (mediators, judges, academics) and persons involved in mediation are asked to complete a structured and specific survey form. The survey\u27s structure is based on the Experiment Design Theory, and the technology used to collect and analyze the data is called Mind Genomics. It provides numerous results, allowing for a comprehensive analysis of the issue under investigation. This study provides a rare example of using quantitative research methods in the field of law
Introducing Activity-Based Costing in Farm Management: The Design of the FarmBO System
Recent research indicates that farm managers do not rely on adequate informative support in their decision-making processes. The authors propose a model of a farm management information system which integrates the activity-based costing approach. In describing the design and development of the “FarmBO” system, the authors provide a detailed functional requirement definition and the description of a working system prototype. The solution is designed to show the impact of general costs on the different crops, allocating them on the basis of the production cycle complexity. It includes a report section directly linked to the database which provides crop balance sheets and simulations in terms of what-if analyses. The system allows farm managers to 1) analyze deviations between budgeted and actual costs, 2) compare crop balance sheets across different years, and 3) perform sensitivity analyses. The authors account for prototype validation in two farms and discuss results and possible developments
Innovations and trends in environmental and agricultural informatics/ Petraq Papajorgji and Francois Pinet, editors.
Includes bibliographical references and index."This book examines the design and implementation of information systems in the fields of agronomics, mathematics, economics, computer science, and the environment. It provides the latest innovative technologies in the construction of complex information systems and discusses the analysis, visualization, management, and dissemination of information, as well as the effective integration of agricultural and environmental information systems"--1 online resource
