No full textRESEARCH BACKGROUND: Fab-Pak is an invited catalogue entry for an international publication on design studio education. The book coincided with an invitation to contribute to a panel of esteemed architectural practitioners and educators at the 2012 Venice Biennale. Wilkins' panel was 'Ecology: The Future of Green at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni'. The catalogue collected design studio outcomes and essays on innovative teaching practice. 'Fab-Pak' produced one-to-one installations for urban sites using reclaimed materials and digital fabrication technologies. Fab-Pak has previously been exhibited at the Bejing Biennale (Neil Leach, curator, 2010, I co-curated RMIT's exhibition with Brent Allpress), the Shanghai Expo (2011), the State of Design Festival in Melbourne (2010) and the London Architecture Festival (2010). RESEARCH CONTRIBUTION: The research developed innovative methods for digitally fabricating full-scale installations using reclaimed material. This work was presented at the ACADIA conference in 2011, a key venue for research on design fabrication. Local industry support included Laminex Group, Dunlop and Astral Ply. The Studioplex catalogue was published in 2 languages and distributed internationally. The Fab-Pak research was invited to be published based on teaching innovation, fabrication research and international recognition. RESEARCH SIGNIFICANCE: The Venice Biennale is a preeminent international venue for the public exhibition and discourse of contemporary architectural production. The public program invites esteemed architects and educators to discuss and debate issues in a live, public forum. My panel included internationally renowned figures Mark Mack, Sou Fujimoto, Wolf Prix, Marcos Cruz and Daniel Rosbottom. The Studioplex catalogue invited top-ranked architecture universities from around the world, including Harvard, Tokyo Institute of Technology, the Architectural Association, Princeton, Columbia, and the Bartlett

The recent meeting between Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Indian business tycoon Sajjan Jindal has raised a controversy in Pakistan. While a section has seen it as a back channel, others have questioned the legality and protocol involved.
With this meeting as the background, this commentary will discuss various diplomatic channels available for Indo-Pak dialogue and their relative effectiveness

Our intention of evaluating the Phat Pak Programme has been to, through feedback from a range of participants, gauge the extent that the programme objectives (such as those highlighted in the contract are being met. More specifically, the function of the evaluation has been to help identify specific areas that are working well and those areas that need further development. It is our intention that the evaluation will provide both short and long-term direction with added insight towards increasing participation and enhancing health outcomes for youth and the wider community of the Waikato region
