Discourses of pedagogical practices in times of COVID 19: a view from the latin american professoriate
Especialista en Psicología Social, Cooperación y Gestión ComunitariaEspecializaciónThis study comprises the discourses produced by the teaching staff of educational institutions in Latin America regarding the pedagogical practices developed during the COVID-19 pandemic, in the period 2020 -2022. The research was developed under a qualitative methodology approach and implemented a traditional documentary review as a collection method. For the organization and analysis of the information, Grounded Theory was used from the constructivist approach of Kathy Charmaz, which allowed the identification of emerging categories from the data. The project was theoretically based on the Critical Discourse Analysis proposed by Teun Van Dijk, which allowed understanding how the macro semantic structures and microstructures of meanings are intertwined to produce power relations and ideological positions. The findings, on the one hand, contributed to the critical understanding of pedagogical practices in the face of forced virtualization, technological gaps and contextual challenges, and on the other hand, evidenced how teachers' discourses reflected tensions and ideological positions in the face of the impositions of the educational system during the health emergency
Evaluation of crop forcing technique in Syrah (Vitis vinifera L.) to increase wine quality
PosterIn warm climates, grape varieties reach enough soluble solids content, however color intensity is low to obtein wines of high quality. Crop forcing technique, force the regrowth of the buds in the same season of development and change the fenology of the vines. So the period from veraison to harvest occurred with lower temperatures. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of crop forcing technique on phenology, yield and wine quality of Syrah, trained on a vertical trellys system, in San Juan-ArgentinaEEA San JuanFil: Pacheco, Daniela. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
From tissue engineering to engineering tissues: the role and application of in vitro models
Engineered models have emerged as relevant in vitro tools to foresee the translational potential of new therapies from the bench to the bedside in a fast and cost-effective fashion. The principles applied to the development of tissue-engineered constructs bring the foundation concepts to engineer relevant in vitro models. Engineered models often face scepticism, because regularly these do not include the extreme complexity of nature, but rather a simplification of a phenomenon. While engineering in vitro models, a hypothesis is imposed towards which defined parameters are included to assess the degree of similarity between the in vitro model and the native phenomenon, keeping in mind their intrinsic limitations. The development of in vitro models has been highly supported and disseminated by different regulatory agencies. This review aims at defining and exploring the multifaceted potential of tangible, not theoretical, models within the biomedical field to represent physiological tissues and organ-related phenomena
Characterization of vineyard training systems based on remote sensing and crop indices
In the context of precision viticulture, this work presents the implementation of remote sensing techniques to analyze the spatial variability of a vineyard (Vitis vinifera L.). This work seeks to continue a preliminary investigation conducted in 2020; this time, the study area within the vineyard was expanded, and the campaigns of 2023 and 2024 were considered. This trial was conducted in a vineyard located in the province of San Juan, Argentina. The vineyard was divided into three blocks (replicates), and within each block, three training systems were randomly implemented: Free Cordon, Minimal Pruning and Box Pruning. The analysis was mainly based on
extracting information from various vineyard maps constructed from high-resolution (2.5 cm pixel size) multispectral and thermographic images. These images were captured using special cameras mounted on an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
Vegetation indices NDVI and NDRE were calculated from the orthomosaics. The spatial distribution of each index and the crop temperature (Tc) were studied, and measurements were subsequently recorded in plants within each training system. Based on these measurements, significant differences were identified among the three training systems. The results demonstrated the usefulness of the high-resolution images acquired to assess the vineyard's condition at the plant level, allowing the producer to manage each training system specifically.EEA San JuanFil: Capraro, Flavio.
