This study provides an analysis of 7 contra Tebas (Seven Against Thebes), a 1992 work in which Wolf Vostell synthesizes three of the most significant aesthetic elements developed throughout his creative career: the importance of theatrical expression, the Berlin Wall as a sign of the human element, and the image of the fall embodied by the mythological figure of Icarus (despite the fact that Icarus is not featured in Aeschylus, as the text that inspired the artistic proposal). The piece was designed as a project for the Mérida Theatre Festival in parallel with the proposal for a contemporary art lighthouse in the Balearic Islands (both proposals failed). It is presented as a work of strong polysemy in a context that synthesises, to a large extent, the whole of Vostell’s work from its beginnings.
Madrid, BNE MSS/4617 contains works by Sophocles, Aeschylus, Hesiod, and Pindar, accompanied by an extensive apparatus of notes. The tragedies and poems of each author were copied
independently yet coherently in Constantinople around 1333, the year indicated by the colophon
of George Kinnamos in the copy of Sophocles. In its margins, the changing handwriting of numerous readers can be identified, some of whom reveal their names: Constantinos, Demetrios, and
the Sicilian Didac (Διδάκος). On f. 69v, a reader has drawn the crossroads where Oedipus killed
his father Laius, depicting the cities in a Western style, each with its own flag. Notably, the Palaiologan phlamoulon waves over the city of Thebes, suggesting that the illustrator of the crossroads
sought to assert the Greek or Byzantine character of the city, even though Thebes had ceased to be
Byzantine in 1204 and was under Catalan control and subsequently ruled by the Acciaiuoli until
the Turkish conquest
Viral hepatitis is associated with reduced bone mineral density in HIV-infected women but not men.
OBJECTIVE:: Few studies have examined the impact of viral hepatitis on bone mineral density (BMD), and none have done so among HIV-infected patients. Our objective was to determine whether viral hepatitis was associated with low BMD in HIV. DESIGN:: A cross-sectional study among 1237 HIV-infected patients (625 with viral hepatitis). METHODS:: Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry scans of the lumbar spine and femoral neck were obtained. Clinical data, hepatitis B and C status, and markers of bone metabolism were determined at dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry scanning. Multivariable logistic regression examined the association between hepatitis and low BMD (Z-scor

Association of serum vitamin D levels nd type 2 diabetes in HIV infection in the Modena cohort
Metabolic complications, including type 2 diabetes mellitus and metabolic syndrome, are increasingly recognized among HIV-infected individuals. Low vitamin D levels increase the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Our study demonstrates an association between vitamin D deficiency and type 2 diabetes mellitus
Prevalence of secondary causes of osteoporosis among HIV infected individuals
Although osteopenia/osteoporosis is very
frequent among HIV infected individuals. Vitamin D deficiency is frequent in this Italian population and might be a contrib-
utor to this problem
