THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING SCAFFOLDING STRATEGIES ON STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION

The objectives of this research are 1) to describe the implementation of
scaffolding strategies in teaching reading comprehension, 2) to find out whether or
not there is effectiveness of the using scaffolding strategy on students’ reading
comprehension.
This research was conducted through an experimental approach with a quasi-
experimental design. The population of this study was 256 students of class VIII SMP
N 01 Kota Tegal. The sample is 64 students, 32 students of class VIII H as the
experimental group and 32 students of class VIII G as the control group. Researchers
used cluster random sampling with a two-group design, namely the experimental
group taught using scaffolding strategies and the control group taught without using
scaffolding strategies. Data collection techniques consisted of pre-test and post-test,
reading test and observation checklist as instruments. The SPSS 22 program was used
to analyze the data.
The mean results of the post-test showed that the experimental group was higher
than the control group (74.06 > 78.44). The Paired Samples T-Test results showed a
sig. (tailed) value is 0.000 < 0.05. Which means there is effectiveness on students'
reading comprehension in the experimental group compared to the control group. So,
scaffolding strategy is effective on students' reading comprehension.
Furthermore, the researcher suggested: 1) Teachers should be use scaffolding
strategies as a teaching method in teaching reading comprehension, 2) Students to
practice a ot of their reading comprehension by independently or with assistance, 3)
Future researchers should try and develop the use of scaffolding strategies to teach
other English language skills
Studi analisis nilai-nilai akhlak dalam Novel Ranah 3 Warna karya Ahmad Fuadi
ABSTRAK
Kemajuan sains dan teknologi yang terjadi saat ini telah membawa perubahan yang cukup besar dalam kehidupan manusia. Dibalik hingar bingar kemajuan di bidang sains dan teknologi ini tidak disertai dengan kemajuan di bidang akhlak dan moral. Banyak kalangan menilai bahwa masalah kemerosotan akhlak ini adalah kesalahan institusi pendidikan dalam menyelenggarakan pendidikan. Pendidikan diharapkan mampu menumbuhkan jiwa-jiwa kebaikan pada setiap manusia. Pendidikan Islam khususnya akhlak memegang peranan penting dalam kehidupan manusia. Untuk menghasilkan manusia dengan personalitas (kepribadian) yang baik dan manusia yang berbudaya tinggi, maka pembinaan akhlak yang dilakukan juga harus benar. Selama ini pembinaan akhlak banyak dilakukan dengan cara suri tauladan, pembiasaan. Namun, banyak pendidik tidak menyadari bahwa karya sastra khususnya novel, sebenarnya juga dapat dijadikan sebagai media untuk pengajaran akhlak. Hal ini karena sebenarnya novel merupakan hal yang tidak dapat dipisahkan dengan nilai-nilai akhlak yang terkandung di dalamnya yang ingin disampaikan oleh si penulis. 5 Menara, terbitan Gramedia Pustaka Utama yang diluncurkan pada Januari
2011 dicetak empat kali dengan jumlah 70 ribu buku dalam tiga minggu. Dengan animo yang luar biasa ini, maka bisa diambil kesimpulan bahwa novel ini memberikan cerita yang berbeda dibandingkan dengan novel lain.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui nilai akhlak yang terdapat dalam novel Ranah 3 Warna karya Ahmad Fuadi seperti optimis, kerja keras, pantang menyerah, sabar, tawakal dan syukur. Dan metode pembentukan nilai akhlak dalam Ranah 3 Warna karya Ahmad Fuadi. Pendekatan penelitian yang dilakukan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dan jenis penelitiannya adalah library research. Kedudukan peneliti adalah sebagai instrumen. Peneliti sendiri yang melakukan penafsiran makna dan menemukan nilai akhlak tersebut. Peneliti juga merupakan perencana, pelaksana pengumpulan data, analisis, penafsir data, dan pada akhirnya menjadi pelapor hasil penelitian. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah content analysis (kajian isi). Kegiatan yang dilakukan peneliti sehubungan dengan pengambilan data yaitu, kegiatan membaca teks novel Ranah 3 Warna dan peneliti bertindak sebagai pembaca yang aktif membaca, mengenali, mengidentifikasi satuan-satuan tutur yang merupakan penanda dalam satuan-satuan peristiwa yang di dalamnya terdapat gagasan- gagasan hingga menjadi sebuah keutuhan makna.
Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah akhlak yang tergambar dalam novel ini seperti optimis, kerja keras, pantang menyerah, sabar, tawakal dan syukur. Salah satunya tersirat dalam penggalan paragraf “Aku paksa diriku lebih kuat lagi. Aku lebihkan usaha. Aku lanjutkan jalanku beberapa halaman lagi, beberapa soal lagi, beberapa menit lagi going the extra miles. I’malu fauqa ma’amilu. Berusaha di atas rata-rata orang lain”. (Halaman 12 paragraf 1). Metode pembentukan akhlak dalam novel ini adalah positive thinking (berpikir positif), self management (manajemen diri) dan remember the goal (ingat pada tujuan awal).
ABSTRACT
Advancement of science and technology which is happening at this time has brought significant changes in people's lives. The frenetic advancement of science and technology is not accompanied by advancement of character and morals values. Many people think that the issue of this demoralization is a mistake of educational institutions in conducting the education. Education is expected to grow souls of goodness in every human being. Islamic education, particularly moral, plays an important role in human life. To produce a human with a good personality and highly cultured, the moral guidance made must also be true. During this time, a lot of character development is done by giving role models and habituation. However, many teachers do not realize that literature, especially novel, in fact can also be used as medium for teaching morals. This is because the novel is actually a thing that cannot be separated with its moral values that the author wants to share. Novel Ranah 3 Warna, the sequel trilogy of Negeri 5 Menara, published by Gramedia Pustaka Utama, launched in January 2011 printed four times with the amount of 70 thousand books in three weeks. With this exceptional interest, it can be concluded that this novel gives a different story compared to other novels.
The purpose of this study is to determine the education of character in the novel Ranah 3 Warna by Ahmad Fuadi such as optimistic, hard working, never giving up, patient, tawakal and gratitude and the method of character formation. Moral education in this case is a learning experience resulted after reading this novel which expected to provide different perspectives in the study of morality. The research conducted is descriptive qualitative while the position of the researcher is as an instrument. Researcher herself made the interpretation of the meaning and found the moral value. Researcher was as a planner, implementer of data collection, analysis, interpreter of data, and finally reporter of research results. The analytical method used was content analysis (study of the contents). Researcher activities accordance with the retrieval of data are becoming active reader, recognizing, and identifying the units of speech marking the units of events having ideas to be a unity of meaning.
The results of this study is the character depicted in this novel such as optimistic, hard working, never giving up, patient, being tawakal and gratitude. One of them is implied in the fragmented paragraph “Aku paksa diriku lebih kuat lagi. Aku lebihkan usaha. Aku lanjutkan jalanku beberapa halaman lagi, beberapa soal lagi, beberapa menit lagi going the extra miles. I’malu fauqa ma’amilu. Berusaha di atas rata -rata orang lain”. (page 12 paragraph 1). Visualization Of 3D Cadastral Information Using BIM To Managing Common Properties Within Multi-Owned Developments
The community currently needs cadastral 3D information because of the development from horizontal to vertical. Common property is one of the 3D cadastral information that needs to be developed. In this study, the multi-owned building used as a research case study is the Surabaya City Square, which the Surabaya City Government manages. To produce 3D cadastral information from the Surabaya City Square, building plan data is needed, along with space usage data and regulations related to the management of the building. Common property areas in multi-owned developments typically include a wide range of shared spaces and facilities. Clear and correct delineation of the spatial extent of common properties must be considered to avoid unintended consequences and costs in managing facilities within complex developments. These data create 3D databases by classifying their physical and legal boundaries. Communication and managing the spatial extent of unlimited and limited common property areas could be challenging for Owners Corporation (OC) managers. Therefore, there is a need to provide a better approach to managing common properties more visually and adopt digital data management methods. One such approach-Building Information Modelling (BIM)-is currently used in the building industry. BIM is widely recognized as a shared data environment for the 3D lifecycle management of buildings. In this research, the author obtains a Level of Detail (LoD) 3 model. BIM can be used to digitize 3D spatial structures and non-spatial data of common properties for managing multi-owned developments that can be accessed through an Autodesk Revit database.

Informasi kadaster 3D saat ini sangat dibutuhkan oleh masyarakat seiring dengan perkembangan pembangunan dari horizontal ke vertikal. Salah satu informasi kadaster 3D yang perlu dikembangkan terkait bangunan milik bersama (common property). Dalam penelitian ini, gedung milik bersama yang digunakan sebagai studi kasus penelitian adalah Alun-alun Kota Surabaya, yang dikelola Pemerintah Kota Surabaya. Untuk menghasilkan informasi kadaster 3D dari Alun-alun Kota Surabaya, diperlukan data denah bangunan, beserta data penggunaan ruang dan regulasi terkait pengelolaan gedung. Area properti umum dalam pengembangan kepemilikan bersama biasanya mencakup berbagai ruang dan fasilitas bersama. Penggambaran yang jelas dan benar tentang luas spasial properti umum harus dipertimbangkan untuk menghindari konsekuensi dan biaya yang tidak diinginkan dalam mengelola fasilitas dalam perkembangan yang kompleks. Data ini menghasilkan database 3D dengan mengklasifikasikan batas ruang secara fisik dan yuridis. Komunikasi dan pengelolaan luas spasial area properti umum yang dapat digunakan seluruh pengunjung dan terbatas hanya oleh beberapa pihak dapat menjadi tantangan bagi dinas pengelola. Oleh karena itu, ada kebutuhan untuk memberikan pendekatan yang lebih baik untuk mengelola properti umum secara lebih visual dan mengadopsi metode manajemen data digital. Salah satu pendekatan tersebut-Building Information Modelling (BIM)-saat ini digunakan dalam industri bangunan. BIM secara luas diakui sebagai lingkungan basis data bersama untuk manajemen siklus pengelolaan bangunan secara 3 Dimensi. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menghasilkan model 3 dimensi dengan Level of Detail (LoD) 3 dimana BIM dapat digunakan untuk mendigitalkan struktur spasial dan data non spasial secara 3D dari properti umum dalam pengembangan dan pengelolaan bersama (multi-owned developments) yang dapat diakses melalui database menggunakan Autodesk Revit
Strategi City Branding Kota Surakarta Melalui Instagram @agendasolo
City branding is a concept of city marketing by using specific symbols or logos to developing city identity and increasing the number of tourist visits. The city of Surakarta implemented a city branding with the tagline “Solo The Spirit Of Java” through various media campaigns, one of them is community accounts in instagram, @agendasolo. This study aims to determine the strategy of city branding of Surakarta through instagram @agendasolo. The Sampling is done by use keyperson method with 2 informants namely Tri Rusnita as Section Head of Promotion and Information Office of Surakarta City and admin account instagram @agendasolo. The techniques Interview is indepth interview, obeservation, and documentation on account instagram @agendasolo. The result of this research is the city branding strategy of Surakarta city in accordance with four steps of city branding strategy that is identity, objective, ommunication, and coherence. The tagline “Solo The Spirit Of Java” is reflects the identity of the city of Surakarta and still applied until today. As for the promotional media, community social media accounts like @agendasolo is more contributed in process of city branding compared with the official government account. In this case, the role of @agendasolo is to share information about various events and tourist sites which located in Surakarta city

The Urgency of Establishing Guidelines for Handling Cybercrime Cases in the Indonesian National Police DepartmentTechnological development has a strong influence on the development of criminals. In the past, crimes were carried out in conventional ways and tools, but now crimes are carried out in modern ways. Cybercrime is a borderless crime and requires special treatment when collecting digital evidence. Evidence in cyber crime allows criminals to hide or remove their tracks. Until now, Indonesian National Police (POLRI) does not have any case management guidelines for storing digital evidence using digital forensic methods. This research aims to determine what steps investigators take in obtaining digital evidence, whether these steps have been effective in law enforcement, or whether they are still unclear. The method in this writing is normative legal research based on a statute approach and a conceptual approach. The author offers to establish guidelines for handling cyber crime cases in the Indonesian National Police by relying on digital forensic methods by strengthening and choosing the right tools for handling cases.
