    ABSTRACT SYNERGETIC EFFECT OF IODIDE ION ON THE CORROSION INHIBITION OF MILD STEEL USING EXTRACT OF SIAMIH LEAVES (Ageratum conyzoides L) IN HYDROCHLORIC ACID MEDIUM By: Lovera Anggraini, S.Si (BP: 1520413003) Prof. Dr. Emriadi, MS dan Prof. Dr. Admin Alif Siamih leaf extract (Ageratum conyzoides L) was tested as a corrosion inhibitor of steel St. 37 in HCl medium without and with the addition of iodide ions using the method of weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization and SEM analysis. Based on the method of weight loss can be seen that the corrosion rate decreases with the addition of siamih leaf extract. The highest inhibition efficiency is 85.33% with the addition of extract 8 g / L, without the addition of iodide ions. The highest inhibition efficiency is 98,51% with the addition of extract 8 g/L plus 8 g/L iodide ions. Influence of temperature causes the inhibition efficiency decreases with increasing temperature. Potentiodynamic polarization measurements showed that the leaf extract siamih a mixed type inhibitor. SEM analysis showed differences steel surface immersed in HCl without and with the addition of Siamih leaf extract. Siamih leaf extract adsorption on the steel surface according to the Langmuir adsorption isotherm.     ABSTRACT EFFECT OF HUMIC ACID ON THE PERFORMANCE OF TiO2/C REINFORCED CERAMICS AS SUPERCAPACITOR ELECTRODE WHICH ACTIVATED WITH NaOH By: Husnul Hasanah (1310411012) Supervised by Prof. Dr. Admin Alif dan Olly Norita Tetra, M.Si Effect of humic acid on the performance of TiO2/C reinforced ceramics as supercapacitor electrode which activated with NaOH has been investigated. Ceramic membrane was coated by TiO2 sol and activated with NaOH then added humic acid was prepared as material of supercapacitor electrode with temperature calcined 250oC and 300oC. Effect of humic acid on the performance of TiO2/C reinforced ceramics as supercapacitor electrode which activated with NaOH can increased capacitance at the lower temperature calcinated was 250oC with capacitance value of 16.170 μF and concentration of H3PO4 electrolyte 0.8 M during 30 minutes charging time. Based on Energy Dispersive X-Ray (EDX), the highest percentage carbon of 15.36% was given by ceramic electrode with temperature calcined 250oC.     The Effect of Activated Carbon of Palm Kernel Shell by NaOH as Supercapasitor Electrode Material Geby Dettania (1310411051) OllyNorita Tetra, M.Si*, Prof. Dr. Admin Alif* *Advisor Carbon from Palm Kernel Shell was activated by NaOH for used as supercapasitor electrode material. The supercapasitor was assembled by plate/sandwich methods. Both electrodes were separated by using a PVA (Polyvinil Alcohol) as a separator. Potassium hydroxide, NaOH 10 M was used as activator in order to increase the capacitancy value. Prepared activated carbon as electrode material was characterized by XRD, FTIR, SEM-EDX and SAA methods. The activated carbon has 34 times more larger surface area is 43.792 m2/g than carbon without activated which is 1.829 m2/g. Supercapasitor was fabricated by variation of particle size, plat area, electrolyte concentration and charging time to obtain the maximum capacitancy value that is 38.108 µF with 3x11 cm2 plat area, charging time is 35 min, and H3PO4electrolyte concentration as 0.3 N.
