No full textThe spread of platforms for the sharing and self-promotion of projects and designers, together with the populist drift of social networks (Irace, 2013), bring to the surface the limits and potential of the field constituted by Social Computing (Manovich, 2005) and Digital Humanities, offering hypothetical scenarios to the crisis of traditional archives.
The hybridization between archival and sharing platforms seems to be a strategic tool to allow not only the sharing but also the protection, and therefore the rescue, of digital artefacts, in order to preserve them from the programmed obsolescence to which virtual systems and technologies are subjected.
The contribution intends to survey experiences involving the hybridisation of different types of platforms, in order to understand to what extent the use of IT tools can facilitate the interconnection between visual artefacts, the ways in which this takes place and to initiate a critical reflection in order to better understand if and how these platforms can become tools for the protection and also the dissemination of graphic culture
A FATAL KETAMINE POISONING
No full textAn unusual case of death by ketamine overdose is reported. The drug's administration was a homicide for homosexual ends. Authors discuss a rapid and effective solid-phase extraction procedure using Bond-Elute* C18 for Ketamine and Nor-Ketamine detection in biological fluids and tissues with a 75% recovery. The drug analysis was carried out by the means of gas-chromatography (GLC) and gas-chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The yield of the procedure for Ketamine was: blood 27.4 mu g/mL; urine 8.51 mu g/mL; bile 15.2 mu g/mL; brain 3.24 mu g/mL; liver 6.6 mu g/mL; kidney 3.38 mu g/mL. Nor-Ketamine was detected in all samples, but not quantified
Ruolo della idrocinesiterapia nella riabilitazione delle protesi di ginocchio
No full textObiettivo dello studio è quello di valutare l’efficacia dell’esercizio terapeutico in acqua in soggetti operati di protesi di ginocchio. Lo studio è stato eseguito su un campione di 50 pazienti. Il campione, omogeneo per quadro anatomo-patologico (gonartrosi primitiva) e tipo di protesi impiantata (tipo Scorpio) è stato suddiviso in due gruppi, ciascuno di 25 pazienti (l’assegnazione è stata randomizzata): un gruppo ha svolto solo rieducazione in palestra, l’altro gruppo ha eseguito anche idrocinesiterapia in piscina termale. Tutti i pazienti sono stati valutati con Scheda di Barthel e Scheda “Knee Society”: all’ingresso in riabilitazione, alla fine del trattamento riabilitativo (a 3 settimane) ed a 3 mesi alla fine dello stesso. I risultati ottenuti sono stati valutati con test “t” di Student. I pazienti, a cui è stato inserito nel percorso riabilitativo un protocollo di rieducazione in acqua, hanno presentato un recupero maggiore e più precoce rispetto a coloro che non hanno seguito un programma in piscina, specialmente nelle prime fasi di trattamento. Questo è evidenziato sia dall’incremento dei punteggi KS a tutti i controlli, sia dalla riduzione dei punteggi Barthel a tre settimane dall’inizio della riabilitazione. A tre mesi di distanza tutti i pazienti sono risultati in grado di eseguire le ADL normalmente, ma risulta significativa la differenza del punteggio KS tra i due gruppi. Da tutto questo possiamo evincere che l’idrocinesiterapia si dimostra un valido strumento nel percorso riabilitativo dei pazienti operati di protesi di ginocchio, poiché “accelerandone” il recupero ne rende possibile un precoce reinserimento nella vita quotidiana
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
