A tentative geodynamic model for the Hercynian Basement of Sardinia

Recent studies confirmed the collisional nature of the European Hecynian belt and palaeogeographic reconstructios place an early Palaeozoic suture between Armorica and Gondwana plates in the sourhern region of the Armorican Massif . The suture zone of this ocean is now located in the Massif Central , in the external crystalline massives of western Alps and ,probably in the Maures and Northern Sardinia (Posada Asinara Line Suture Zone). Analyses of the closure this oceanic zone allow us to place the most relevant events recorded in the Sardinia basement into a new geodynamic model which implies a complete wilson cycle
